We had them deliver the mattress but chose not to pay the setup fee, since we already had the frame set up with our existing bed. The delivery guys said that they couldn't bring the mattress to the bed room as that was considered "setup". They would only drop it in the entryway or foyer. The master bedroom was 15 steps away on the same floor in a open floor plan house. The route had nothing blocking the path and was clear of furniture. I ask if they could just bring it to the doorway of the bedroom. After threatening to cancel the order they relented and sarcastically made a big deal about moving it the 15 steps. Really spoiled the whole purchase experience.

At the Midlothian store our sales person was more interested in trying to sell us a protection plan than she was in actually ordering our loveseat and recliner in the same color. She only offered us the finance plan that would require a 10% down payment. Only later did I read on their website that other plans could be had that required no down payment. I had to call the manager to have the color corrected for our furniture to match. On the day of delivery I received a voice mail informing us that one of two recliners I ordered was going to arrive with a missing section. This would require a second delivery, at some time to be determined. At 6pm I called Haverty's customer service to find out where our delivery was, at the same time the driver called my wife explaining that he was an hour away, would we like to reschedule? We let him know we were OK with a late delivery. Ten minutes later we got a call informing us the delivery would be canceled. I informed the customer service rep that we would cancel the entire order. I was told that would not be possible until the truck returned to the warehouse. This was unacceptable. I had no furniture, had wasted a day waiting for furniture, and now I had to call them to get my money back. It will be quite awhile before we do business with Haverty's.

She was understanding of the whole situation and very respectful of me and my time. She understood what I needed in regards to space, look, and function. I am used to wheeling and dealing at estate sales and thrift stores, so buying full-priced furniture is not quite up my alley. I had not even planned to make a purchase that day, but Susan made sure I had the time and information I needed to make the choice. The delivery process was easy and I am so pleased with the result. Although Bassett is on the pricey side, I literally could not find a sofa that worked anywhere else, so, to me, it was well worth it. The ad posted online was misleading, but there weren't any details that stated otherwise. Upon arriving, they had many mattresses to choose from, including different sizes and materials. The advertisement I saw online was different and the actual price of the queen size mattress was much higher than what I expected. It's always a good idea to double-check the details of an ad before making an appointment or visiting a store to avoid any surprises or disappointments. The sale clerk told me that it the price listed online was for a foam topper that wasn't mentioned in the ad at all. They do offer free delivery, but I would have to help the delivery guy carry it inside, and it can only be placed in the living room because they worry that it might scratch up the walls if they help bring it to the room. Try not to let them talk you into getting one because I felt the sales clerk was saying, "This is the last one, get it before it's gone," which I didn't like. It's also important to feel comfortable with the sales associates and not feel pressured into buying something you're not sure about.
