    Nbr ten bus

This is my main transport to the Azeka Plaza , # 10 bus. It runs hourly. It's been on time each direction. They have rules. The space inside is seating and standing. And wheel chairs. Up to 3 bikes can be put on a bracket set up in front of the driver. So there is no room for surfboards or skim or boogie boards. I would guess , no folding beach chairs. No mask, shirt or shoes. No ride. Correct amount for fare. No change. Have it ready on boarding. No luggage. I feel sorry for the airport run but I think that rule Leans more to the homeless. Many are down to the clothes on their back, a rolling bag and a backpack and maybe a yoga mat. That's all usually in a shopping cart. That situation is as common as Surfboards in pick ups. I find the bus to be clean and all the drivers uniformly courteous. If you are here long term or a local you can get a monthly bus pass that cuts daily use fee by a significant amount. Cash only and buy it from the driver after the 25 th off the month for use starting on the first. There is a notice inside the bus, pass holders board first to speed the boarding process. Many of us thank the driver on departure. Mahalo

6/25/2021: A-LO-HA!!!! The Maui Bus is a necessary part while living in Maui due to there are NO, NADA, ZIPPO, ZILCH rental cars available on ALL HAWAIIAN ISLANDS except, if you can afford doling out $1,000.00 to $5,000.00 for ONE WEEK'S CAR RENTAL. Therefore, it's direly imperative you copiously study via CAREFULLY READING THE SPECIFIED PICK-UP SCHEDULE TIMES for ALL MAUI'S BUS ROUTES succinctly because from my faux-pas experiences, I kept missing the bus by a couple of minutes to ten minutes! Frustratingly, I have discovered you MUST be present by NO less than FIVE TO TEN MINUTES PRIOR at any bus stop or you'll definitely miss riding the Maui Bus, i.e., for example: While waiting at the Polynesian Shores Bus Stop (the Maui Bus may pass by Polynesian Shores' Bus Stop anywhere from forty-five minutes before the hour to fifty-five minutes before the hour!), after attending Citizen Church's Sunday Service (I hobbled across Highway 30 in order, arriving at the Polynesian Shores Maui Bus Stop), the Maui Bus #28 heading towards Kapulua passed by at SEVEN MINUTES AFTER THE HOUR, two minutes later, these two ladies were hoofing towards the bus stop which is across from my bus stop location where I had to sadly inform them the Maui Bus left at 1:07 PM when the two ladies arrived at the bus stop at 1:10 PM! Meanwhile, on the flip side, I had to visit Minit Urgent Care across the way from Foodland and across the street from Safeway: The time was 4:45 PM upon arrival at the Safeway via Lahaina Cannery Shopping Center: however, I missed the Maui Bus #28 heading towards Kapulua by FIVE minutes; however, the Maui Bus left Lahaina Cannery at 4:40 PM!!!!! RATS!!!! Equating, AUGH~I had to wait a FULL HOUR in order, riding the Maui Bus returning via Napili heading towards Kapulua!!!! What to do in order, avoiding the sweltering heat wave? Buy a DAY PASS for $4.00, hop onto the Lahaina Bus #23 heading towards Lahaina's Wharf Cinema, buy a drink after exiting the bus, gulp the ice cold drink-FAST, and the Kapulua Bus #28 arrives at Wharf Cinema at 5:30 PM! CAPISCHE? Should you have questions, please feel free sending me a DM. Mahalo!

Overall not a bad experience. I was in an all girls room with 8 bunks. I had nice conversations with some of the girls and one of them even asked if I've ever stayed in a hostel before. I guess I don't look like the normal clientele. LOL. It was a fun adventure and I would totally do it again. The hostel also offers daily tours. There's a laundry room and overall it was clean. Blueberry pancake breakfast offered complimentary but you have to make it yourself. Pancake-ing is not a skill I've acquired so I opted to go out and try the local food fare. I especially loved the garden and patio area - it's a perfect spot to relax with coffee or snacks. While breakfast is no longer served, there is a comfortable indoor dining area available for guests to use. There's also a small room in the main building stocked with coffee and cream pods, ice, snacks, and even sunscreen, which was a thoughtful touch. We stayed in a ground floor room toward the back of the property, which felt very private and cozy. The room was lovely and included a Keurig with coffee pods, which I appreciated. The only minor downside was noise from upstairs, we could hear footsteps/furniture or suitcases being moved fairly clearly. It didn't bother us much, but light sleepers may want to keep that in mind.

Although our wedding itself was held offsite, the inn became the heart of our entire celebration - a place where our families could connect, relax, and spend meaningful time together. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the beautiful interior design.. it is curated, warm, and full of character. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, and incredibly well stocked with everything guests could need. The robes and snacks in each room were so thoughtful. The grounds are just as special. The gardens are lush and peaceful, and the outdoor furniture is so stylish. One of our favorite touches was the "Aloha Room," which was so thoughtfully equipped with water, snacks, hot water, a microwave, and even sunscreen..details like this really set the inn apart. We were also fortunate to host a small dinner onsite, and the ambiance was truly stunning - intimate, elegant, and quintessentially Maui. Every single guest staying at the inn commented on how much they loved their room, which speaks volumes. Breakfast each morning was lovely, and Lupe, the housekeeper, was incredibly attentive and kind throughout our stay. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the level of service. Ramu went above and beyond in every way - accommodating our special requests, always being available, and communicating with us seamlessly throughout the entire process. The level of care and responsiveness was exceptional. Parking was easy and ample. This is truly a hidden gem on Maui. If you're looking for a place to gather with loved ones in a setting that is both beautiful and deeply welcoming, you simply cannot do better. 10/10, we would recommend it without hesitation.

While technically in Wailuku, you'd never know it; and this central location was ideal for sightseeing around the island.  The grounds were beautiful.  The sounds of the jungle (especially of the nearby stream) were a wonderful way to wake up in the morning as well as to de-stress throughout the day.    Tamara and Bob were very wonderful and attentive hosts.  Kahu (their German Shepherd) was a loving protector of the guests.  The comfy bed and clawfoot bathtub were lovely accents of the Orchid room (the multiple mini-refrigerators were also quite helpful); and having the lanai for dining and taking-in the ambience was a major plus. We highly recommend staying here, and would easily do so again should we plan another trip to this incredible island.

My wife and I are from…read moreHonolulu and we had a wedding to attend on Maui, so we decide to make it a short relaxing vacation as well. And Relaxing and soothing it was! Iao Valley Inn is run by a couple (Tamara and Bob) who also live and maintain this luscious, green oasis of a property. It's located right outside of Wailuku just as you enter Iao Valley Road. Once on property you could never tell the main town(s) of Wailuku and Kahului is very near. The property is also located near the banks of the Iao Valley stream and its flowing sound is so refreshing and soothing - there is even a waterfall to boot! There are 3 rentals: 2 rooms adjacently attached to the main house and 1 cottage with a detached enclosed Gazebo with a bed away from the main house. We opted for reserving the Cottage and boy were we impressed. If you go to their website the video is every bit accurate as you see it. We've attached some photos as well. As you can see the Cottage is a 1 bed (King Size) with a small living room, full kitchen (including a dishwasher!), full bathroom (just a large shower no tub), the entry has a covered patio area with a glass table for enjoying the outside without worrying about rain. A quiet split system A/C unit is available in the main cottage, as well as two ceiling fans. This A/C and fan setup is great - since you can experience the natural atmosphere without the A/C running - the windows are screened to keep the bugs out and the ceiling fan keeps the natural air moving if you like. The first couple of days were a bit humid so we ran the A/C - but the other days we let the natural air and sounds into the cottage (very, very 'ohmmmm') - if you are into Yoga or just meditating - this is a bomb of a place to practice those disciplines (I did some light Yoga and it was very stimulating). No traffic noise, just the running stream water, birds, wind and bit of rain. If you like 'action' this is NOT the place. The detached gazebo is nice: double bed with an armoire for clothing, lights, artwork, lots of windows (screened) and a nice entry deck. But I think they should at least install a ceiling fan to make it bearable in the humidity. It has no bathroom so if you stay there, you need to walk across the yard to the main cottage bathroom - which as an exterior door for that purpose. Other amenities include a nice light breakfast for the first day (Orange juice, papaya, passion fruit, banana bread, water and Keurig coffee setup), Washer/drier with detergents, beach gear (boogie boards, umbrella, fins). Lots of bathroom towels, Cable TV + WIFI, Alexa and even a BBQ Grill! We were so impressed we are thinking to return again just for the experience of staying put and enjoying all the amenities esp BBQing and enjoying the outdoor area. Thank you Tamara & Bob - We'll be back!
