I ended up doing the daily since I could only come to the gym for 2 days. The process was easy and fast and membership was fast and helpful. I had to download the GymMaster app which unlocked the door during business hours. There was some initial set to connect to the app. But once that was done it was easy going. In terms of decor, its a clean gym and that includes the sauna / restroom area. The equipment needs maintenance and was a holdover from when this was a 24 hour fitness. I came on Wednesday and Thursday so the gym itself wasn't as busy as it could have been since I came after work. My only issue was that there wasn't any wifi available. Overall, this was a convenient community gym.

I still ended up purchasing a one year membership because it's one of the few good gyms on Maui. Today, during my first workout as a member, the same employee literally walked all the way up to me and told me I needed to buy a day pass to be here. I had to stop my workout and pull up my receipt to prove I'd already paid. Then she was like "oh oh oh you look so different not you not you blah blah blah...." Excuse me??? Very much needed some better training for employees, do better

I've been going to Planet Fitness consistently for a while now and overall, it's been a good…read moreexperience. For what I need, it checks all the boxes without feeling overwhelming. I actually signed up through my insurance using their Active & Fit program, and the process was super easy. The staff were able to get me set up the same day so I could simply start right away and have stayed consistent since. It's a great benefit, and definitely something worth taking advantage of if it's available to you. It can get busy during peak hours, but since I mostly stick to cardio, it hasn't really been an issue. There's a good number of machines--ellipticals, treadmills, stairmasters--and I've never had trouble finding something open. Everything is straightforward and easy to use, which I appreciate as someone who's not doing anything too advanced. There's a mix of free weights (dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells) available and machines if you're trying to work specific muscle groups. The facility itself is well-kept, and you'll often see staff making rounds and cleaning. The team is consistently friendly too--they greet you when you walk in, which is a small thing but makes the space feel welcoming. The only downside is that the bathroom can sometimes smell pretty strongly of cleaning products, but honestly, I'd rather that than question how clean it is. If you opt for the Black Card membership, you can enjoy some extra perks like--massage chairs, hydromassage beds, tanning, and access to other locations. It's a nice bonus and makes the experience feel a bit more well-rounded. I don't have a ton of specific needs when it comes to working out, and for someone more on the beginner or casual side, it really works well. It's approachable, affordable, and has everything you need to stay consistent.

Can you call your dad?" My son communicated to Jessica she could tell him. She replied "you can't use the printed bar code to sign in" Why can't she explain nicely? We have been doing that for more than a year and no one said anything before. My son & I are customers who should be treated properly. So I went to the desk to ask the clerk to check my membership. All of a sudden, Lei cut me off trying to explain the conversation between the Jessica (manager) & my son. WHY? I was already talking to other clerk. Unless we break the rules, please be nice.

The location is in the Target parking lot on the Petco side, so there's plenty of parking. It's next to Verizon. Be wary of high traffic times because the intersection outside gets busy! There is an entry area with a check-in desk and friendly staff along with some lockers and merch. They definitely need more benches for people waiting for the next class. I think they can afford at least one more bench. The time before each class gets crowded and awkward. The class is inside an all-glass space. They have 10x rowers, 10x treadmills, & 10x floor training spots with weights & TRX, etc. classes are a mix of a 3G or 3-part class of 15-20 minute blocks, which is the only type I do. They also have 2G, which means each block is 30-minute, which I'm not ready to try. Lots of challenges and different workouts everyday to keep it different and fun. Trainers and staff are all great and motivational. They have two bathrooms and one shower. They sadly do not provide bath or hand towels. For such a premium establishment, this was disappointing for myself as I came from Equinox on the mainland and payed similar monthly dues. You can pay per class, in chunks of 8, or have an unlimited pass like I do. I come everyday and love the classes. You can book on the app ahead of time, which is great. They do need more class times and/or trainers as they grow their customer base as classes get filled up 1-2 weeks ahead of time. You have to be pretty agile with the app or website and book ahead! Also, more weekend classes would be great as they all end by 11A. Overall, I'm enjoying my 2-month package promo and it's allowing me to burn more calories and stay active within my busy schedule.

After moving to Wailuku from Kihei I was not liking the local gyms and my husband had a co-worker who found Yanagida Fitness. I went to one group workout, loved it, signed up for two free weeks and have been there ever since. Justin has a team of coaches who guide you through a 45 min workout that is never boring and always feels good. You are invited to go at your own pace. My favorite coach is Shannon on M-W-F 9am. This is a homegrown gym with little frills but big on motivation. Words can't do justice to the great experience I've had at ABC Keiki Care. As a mother of a newborn she brought smiles to my face as I would receive photos and text messages throughout the day. It is awesome to watch this woman work! My favorite message/video she sent me was of her trying to get my son down for his nap and patting his bum and being so responsive to his cues for more! It was hilarious and humbling to watch her care for him so individually. I found this quote once and it describes perfectly what I've found with ABC Keiki Care: Family child care Is NOT babysitting. It's not comparable To any child care center. It's FAMILIES in RELATIONSHIPS With a PROFESSIONAL Care provider In an environment, that becomes, BY DESIGN, a second home, And a whole bunch of people Partnering, trusting, caring And educating each other.
