Worst experience ever! Do not shop here! My daughter bought a $55 bathing suit top last night as the store was closing. The employees were rushing her out if there so she grabbed the top and we left. Today she realized she bought the wrong size. We went back to exchange for the correct size and the said no. They said all swimwear was final sales. I understand this on bottoms - but tops?? All she wanted was to get get the correct size. Now we are stuck with a useless $55 bathing suit top. read more

I was browsing along the beach strip and came across this super neat, surf shop. It had a great selection of brands including billabong, Roxy, O'Neil, etc. All the basic beach/surf brands. Lexi was very helpful in helping me find a pair of rainbows in my size. I will definitely be back! This store is stocked! read more

Shopping with our daughter. We arrived at 9:59 on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We looked in the window to see if anyone was working because it was dark. We saw the girl turning the cash register on and she rolled her eyes at us. When she opened the door she didn't say a word to us. We walked in. Best shop on Clearwater Beach. Big selection of name brands, not just a novelty shop like the rest. We came in looking for a sweatshirt and left with more than we needed! Staff was very friendly and helpful even though the store had many more customers than staff available to assist them. I loved this store. I'm a big fan of Reefs flip flops, specifically the "Slap" model. Lately it has been very hard to find new Slaps. I love the Slap because the cushioned heel gives better support than your average flip flop.Sadly, most people prefer the Fanning model for the bottle opener built in to the sole but the cushioning of the Slap is far superior. I can walk for miles in my Slaps. I had visited a few shops in Tampa and looked at Reefs but no one had the Slap model. Then..............angels sang. I opened the door of Maui Nix. I saw a rack of the cutest hair flower barrettes. Then I saw a huge rack of Reefs flip flops and there, twinkling in the moonlight errrr fluorescent lighting..NEW SLAPS. I was so excited. Promptly after purchase I did what I do to all my new flip flops.... I took them to the Gulf for a baptism. read more

Terrible customer service. Went to buy a watch last week for my dad, was never told about the no return policy on "hardware." Dad wanted to exchange the watch for a different style, so we went back and were told no exchanges, not even on a gift! The reciept does not mention this policy either. Needless to say we headed down to Indian Rocks Beach and got a better Nixon at Nekton, and better customer service. read more

I was in here a few years ago while on vacation in Clearwater. I've been skating and longboarding for at least a decade, but never had any experience surfing or skimboarding. I was looking at the skimboards and was asked if I skim/surf boarded by one of the guys working there. I replied that I hadn't but was interested in trying it out. There were several guys in there working who we're pretty experienced but they didn't blow me off or act like they were better than me because I was new to it. I ended up buying a good skimboard from there at a reasonable price (so I later found out after research) and a Nixon scout watch with a pretty unique band that I haven't seen online or anywhere else since. They took time to explain some fundamentals about skimboarding to me even after I'd made my purchase so that I could get out and have a good time. It was a good experience and I'll definitely be back when I return to vacation there. read more

We waited for a few minutes while looking at the longboards, and still...no one ever asked if we needed help. So, we went back to Mandalay Surf Shop where everyone said hello the moment we came in and were very helpful. Bought a great longboard for my 14 yr. old grandson at a very fair price (cheaper than the internet price!) read more
