Mira is super sweet and very talented. She made me look like a celebrity on my wedding day. It was amazing. I wish I could have her do my makeup everyday! In fact, my husband doesn't like it when I wear makeup and I typically don't wear too much makeup anyways... For this reason I was super nervous on how I would look for my big day. Mira calmed my nerves and always gave me advice through the wedding planning process. She's so nice and I'm glad I went with her. I did a lot of research and wanted to find a MUA that knew how to work with asian eyes. I've had my makeup done by others before and it turned out horrible (those other MUA were recommended as being really good). I have to say... Mira is ABOVE all MUA I have seen/used. Some others make you look dramatic like a drag queen. She didn't make me feel like I had tons of makeup on and made my eyes look bigger/ cat-eyes. We were going for the classic beauty look and everyone can not stop complimenting on how I looked that day. For the hair, I was also unsure of what styles looked good and I just trusted Mira to do the right thing. She gave me lots of textured hair in my updo and I loved it. Mira was amazing! Not only was her work solid but she was prompt in every aspect of the word. I was looking to book a stylist for 3 people and I was running out of time and options. The same day I started my search, I found Mira and she quickly replied back to me and I was so thankful for that! Red carpet worthy, stellar execution, great communication and collaboration for my wedding hair and makeup March 1, 2015. I felt absolutely radiant, and like a complete rock star in my eyelashes, sweatproof and UV protected foundation, smoky eyes with soft pink lips that stayed all night! My mom got makeup based on a photo from her own wedding 43 years ago and she swore it brought her back four decades, my sister had an adamant request for barely there natural and got exactly that. My only wish is that Mira could follow me around and make me this fabulous every day. She even gave my mom the lipstick that had the perfect bright pop. Mira is a sweetheart, and loved spending the day getting ready with her, an hour each for my mom and sis, and two for my hair, eyelashes (can't recommend that coquette bombshell sexiness enough) and makeup. Came to our beach house and set up everything for minimal extra cost. Reasonably priced especially when I shopped around Maui, she created different looks for each individual, and my beloved orchid hair flowers (from Lois Hiranaga...amazing wedding florist by the way!) were pristine the whole night despite a thousand hugs, dancing, and celebrating til the moon kissed us good night. Mira is a wizard! She and her team made me and my bridesmaids/mother/mother in law look like our best selves without the heaviness some MUA can do to your face. I won't lie- I am not a big makeup person so I just kind of selected her off a list of preferred vendors from my wedding planner and hoped for the best. I was so pleased with her work- I felt truly beautiful and she did an excellent job. I also love that they used custom eyelash pieces vs a strip- it made a difference! My hair and makeup did not budge all day despite being outside the entire time -with lots of dancing- and doing a bit of sweating. Lastly, I was dumb and gave myself stupid tan lines the day before my wedding and she covered them up seamlessly so I looked bronze and gorgeous. She was excellent to communicate with and I felt like she knew what I wanted before she saw us - a lot of effort was put into finding out what we wanted, what our natural hair was like etc to ensure everything went smoothly on the day. Mira was one of a 2 part team of ladies fabulously entertaining and an important element ( I didn't know I needed) of my wedding day My ceremony was to be a private one consisting of me, my honey, our loving officiant, the photographer and videographer. Mira did an amazing job with my hair on my wedding day! I was thinking of leaving it down, but she talked me into a low-key style that was very beautiful. She also did a wonderful job with my eye makeup - round eyes are not the easiest feature to conquer, but Mira hooked me up. However, I have two complaints. First, the mascara she used lasted about 45 minutes before leaving very dark circles on my face. It was very noticeable and kept reappearing despite my touch ups, which had me uncomfortable during my wedding ceremony and reception... I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Second, I have very fair skin with cool undertones, and the foundation used on my skin was very, very warm and very, very dark. Seriously, I spent two beautiful weeks in Maui and I didn't even come close to how dark that foundation was. I repeatedly voiced my concern about the foundation, but Mira assured me it would look better in different lighting. It didn't. I wound up reapplying on the way to the ceremony with someone else's foundation as my wedding party and I agreed I looked like Donald Trump (orange face yet light around the eyes - Google it!) So, in the end I got married with no blush, no bronzer, no contour at all, which was quite the confidence killer. I didn't even have any concealer to cover up a few spots of acne - this is the stuff bridal nightmares are made of, am I right? But hey, a few easily photoshopped spots are much better than Oompa Loompa skin that doesn't match your arms or chest. Anyway, Mira is really talented, I just wish more than anything that she had used a higher quality mascara on my eyes and brought foundation that could actually match skin with a cool undertone. Can't lie, the more I think about it the more heartbroken I am that my makeup turned out the way it did, particularly when I look at my photos and see nothing but dark mascara circles.
