A few years ago I took an area rug to them and it didn't look any better when I picked it up then it did when I took it in. Recently I took some drapes to them and they leached color and body out of the material. The color difference is very noticable when I use an undrycleaned tieback of same material. I should have known better when walking through the front door and smelling the bad odor in the front. I've brought in my grandmas fur coat and it took months to get cleaned and it has a funky smell to it now. I decided to give them a second try with my winter jacket. I needed a new zipper sewn in. They told me it was going to be $45. I thought that was steep but I went ahead and approved it. I picked up my jacket and it was $85! What a joke. Looks like it's back to Baryames for me. read more

This is the second time that when I received my draperies back that they had black dog hairs ALL over them. These are very expensive custom draperies I have not spent at least 1.5 hours picking dog hairs all over them. I took these draperies to them a couple of years ago and the same thing happened, they said "oh we must have cleaned someones items that had a dog and the hairs got on your stuff that way".... really now it happened again, I bet they have a dog running around in the plant. Just unacceptable. BTW, my draperies have stains on them still. read more

My favorite sweater came back smelling awful. Maurers dry cleaned it again. It is still reeking. I saw a guy in the store where I picked up my sweater - the second time- and he was complaining about his clothes smelling awful - too. DO NOT take a chance at this company. I took my beautiful custom made valance to get dry cleaned and freshened up, When I went to pick it up, it was completely ruined! There were rips in the fabric, and the material was faded beyond recognition. I asked why they didn't tell me it was a possibility of this happening...all they said was that I signed a release. I went there to begin with because they have been around for many years, however this is the last tine. I have no way of repairing or using that once-beautiful valance. read more

please do not call this company to clean. they cleaned carpets and used chemicals that ruined our carpets with stains from chemicals they pre spotted. they came back out to try and fix their mistake. instead the rude woman ruth wants to no longer deal with their mistake. she told me to call my insurance company...no i am calling an attorney please beware of them read more

I had several items my wife and I needed dry cleaned, including my wife's wedding dress and a jacket that needed some repairs. I had read many reviews for the other dry cleaners in the area and grew quite concerned that there would be no where I could trust with our clothes. Of all the options, Maurer's had the best balance between good reviews and bad reviews (non-Yelp). They were great. They were able to get everything cleaned and my jacket repaired in the time I requested and all at a fair and reasonable price, especially given the wedding dress and jacket with repairs. I wholeheartedly recommend Maurer's for your dry cleaning needs. read more

This place is just the worst. I wish I checked the reviews before going as it sounds like others have had similar experiences. (Read google) I took a $120 pillow there to be cleaned. The young man took my name and phone number down on a torn scrap piece of paper. I thought it was weird I didn't get a receipt but whatever. I asked if they would call me when it was ready and he responded "I guess we can do that". I never received a call. When my husband went to pick up the pillow, he received a completely different pillow. They told him they took the feathers out and cleaned them and put them in a new ticking. They threw away the zippered cover (why?). When my husband started asking questions they told me they had informed me of this when I dropped it off. They didn't, I was in there for about 45 seconds, remember the scrap paper? That kid had no idea what he was doing. On top of everything they called us liars. Seriously, what in the world Maurers?! We weren't asking for a new pillow, you could have at least apologized for not explaining your process when I dropped the pillow off. But they immediately went on the offensive. The first 4 weeks went smoothly, and after that, we stopped seeing from the dry cleaners. They are supposed to do bi-weekly pick ups for our coats. One of the last pickups we had the driver said "Oh I figured I haven't been here in a few weeks so I thought I'd stop by.." VERY UNORGANIZED business. I would think If you made a deal/contract with your customer to arrive promptly every other Thursday (2 times a month) your employees wouldn't just show up whenever they please. Not only does this make this dry cleaning company look lazy, but our business is on a set schedule as well, when you pick up our coats on Mondays or whenever you please, that messes with our practice, seeing that we need to wear these coats throughout the week. Maurer's cleaning is just bad business practices in a nut shell. read more
