I always have looked past it because I like the quality of the clothes. Today however I had an incident that may make me not return to the store or even support Torrid further. I am in the store and purchase an item. Then I ask the girl checking me out if they price match the online prices. At this point the sale is complete. She says they can but I would have had to do it before checking out. So I ask about exchanging the item for the lesser price. The manager comes over and says something about no they can't do that because of how the receipt runs in the system. So I left the store, I then turned and when back in to just return the item...I was told no, I can't return the item because their system won't have it processed for 24 hours. I left very frustrated. Number 1 that is the worst possible policy. So you mean to tell me if they made an error and rang something up twice and I catch it after I check out, they can't correct it for 24 hours? I find that hard to believe. Number 2 I called another store and was told the information I was given by the always unpleasant manager in McHenry was a LIE!! So needless to say, trying to scam your customers doesn't gain you any.

We were in target when we got a tornado warning. We wanted to check out and leave and the employees…read morestarted bombarding us and yelling at us to get to the back of the store and refused to let us check out. They told us to either leave our items and leave or go to the back of the store. We left and came back a bit later after the storm had passed to get out items cuz we still wanted them and in the front of the store the employee said we can check out now so we go to grab our stuff and a different employee stomps up to us and says "What are you doing you need to get to the back of the store." so then my sister explains how the employees at the front said it was lifted and we could walk around now and the employee says "No they didn't." and told us we are lying and then proceeded to tell us we have two minutes to get our stuff and get out. We ended up getting our items but the entire shopping trip they were practically harassing all the customers to get to the back and were very rude. There was barely any tornado either it rained for around 3 minutes.

Well a couple of months ago the zipper on one of the boots started to give me trouble. I was very upset because they were expensive and I spent the extra money to buy boots that would last. I got the zipper to work again and then today it completely broke. Well, I thought since the quality was good I'd bring them to a cobbler. Well, the closest cobbler is now 30 minutes away. So I thought I'd see what Lake Geneva Overland would say. They had 100% guarantee and replaced the boots. The was a nominal price difference feom when I bought the original pair. But as Gerald explained to me, they make high quality products and they back them and that should not have happened. My visit today exceeded my expectations and I will definitely continue to be loyal customer. In a world of products with declining quality it's nice to know someone still has our backs! I ended up grabbing a few things on sale but could've easily spent more time looking around. The staff were friendly and polite, and checkout was quick and easy. I found the trick it to go right when they open as usually the line to checkout here is pretty long with only 1-3 cashiers but this morning there was no line at all. Overall, it felt like a well-run store and a pleasant place to shop, I'll definitely be back.
