Yesterday, on 12/11/25 at 11:30 a.m. my cousin and I entered the Torrid store located at the Boise…read moreTowne Square Mall. We were immediately greeted by a cheerful clerk, named Shree (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She asked if she could help us and we said yes that my cousin was looking for dark denim jeans with no distress, faded nor rips in them. She took us to the section where the pants are located and started to select several pairs to try on and she took us to the dressing room where my cousin could try on the pants. I waited outside of the dressing rooms in a comfortable chair. I have been to several Torrid stores in the Bay Area in California and I have used their dressing rooms. None of them were as nice and as spacious as the Torrid in Boise, ID. It had a three fold mirror that customers could step out of the dressing room and see themselves from different angles while anyone accompanying the customer could sit and wait and/or watch as the customer showed them how a potential outfit looks on. The salesclerk, Shree, was awesome! She continued to bring other pant sizes and options when the first pair of pants didn't work for my cousin. Then when my cousin said she was thinking of getting a bra, Shree offered to select a few bras for her to try on. Shree even stepped inside of the dressing room with my cousin after asking if she could enter to measure my cousin for her bra size. It was a good thing that she did because my cousin's size had changed since the last time she bought a bra. At the same time as Bree was helping us, she also set up dressing rooms for two other potential customers to try on clothes. She also catered to those two women bringing them various dresses that they were looking for. Shree was good at multitasking and making each customer feel like they had her individual attention. In addition, to ringing up customers who were ready to make a purchase. All done with a cheerfulness that made our shopping experience positive. She provided excellent customer service. Thank you very much!

They always have sales on something and I've found some great stuff when I've gone. Also, if they have something in store that is cheaper on Torrid's website let them know so they can adjust the price for you. My cashier did that automatically without my asking, and was very helpful when I asked about sizing for different garments. I had a great experience.

I've visited Plato's closet for years, and always knew selling clothes would mean the cash exchange…read morewould be low which is fine. It's the standard that I understand. When I was notified my order was ready, the employee there was extremely complacent and not friendly. She questioned if I was actually notified that they were ready for me, I told her I received a text, spelled my first and last name out per her request, and she asked me if I was sure on how to spell my last name. At that point, I was frustrated with the interaction. I'm used to my last name being misspelled - it's completely understandable it happens all the time! I've never had someone ask me if I spelled my last name right, literally had to confirm that was the question and was met with attitude. She asked me to spell it again, turns out my last name was entered waaay incorrectly. Somehow my last name was spelled with an r, h, p? That was a new one. I understand what it's like to misspell someone's name in customer service, I did work at St. Luke's and checked patients in. If I misspelled someone's last name, I would verify and spell it back to them to double check. The issue isn't making a mistake because that's something we all do and I have immense patience for that (I make them all the time), what I don't have patience for is rude customer service. The bar for customer service at Plato's closet has always been low, and I just brushed it off as unexperienced and unenthusiastic staff. I don't go there much anyways so I didn't feel like leaving a review but today was extremely frustrating.

There was a lot of selection, and the prices were fair but SO many items I reached for had…read morenoticeable stains. This has never been an issue at another trendy thrift store in the area that I frequent. I know the clothes are screened and purchased for resale, and I was blown away so many items with obvious stain/damage met their standard. The final straw was finding menstrual blood in a pair of jeans.

Talbots

Women's clothier Talbots' has both on-line presence and in some cities, like Boise, a bricks and…read moremortar retail store. Boise's is in the Towne Square Mall and hooray for this - you access directly from the parking lot and don't have to go inside the mall. This would be 5 star review if only for the nice women who work at the Boise location and provide great service. My deductions from perfect score are for Talbots corporate policy of gamesmanship with timing of promotions making a customer need to play "gotcha" to stay on top of them. And for inconsistency in quality or sizing of garments, even in the same style and season, from color to color. And also for the reduction in the quality of the fabrics and construction used in their casual wear in the last decade. Even with those demerits, during sales the value is hard to beat and they offer one of the broadest size ranges in the industry. It may be for off the rack, mass market wear, only Ralph Lauren offers sizes from 0 Petite through Plus size 24 as does Talbots. BRAVA FOR "NORDY'S QUALITY" IN-STORE SERVICE: The staff at the Boise location do a stellar job of keeping the store well organized, merchandise nicely displayed and they are tip-top professional "Nordstrom-like" in level of service to shoppers. For example, if you're in a fitting room and need another color or size or want to look at item XYZ to go with the ABC you have on to try, they'll fetch it and bring it to you and offer their opinion when you need it for fit. If they're out of your size they will happily offer to order it for you through the store to be delivered to your home so you don't have to pay shipping. They also make returns, if you have ordered things via Talbot's website that need to go back, easy to do. THEIR SHOPPER & THEIR MERCHANDISE: While Talbots is thought of as a "more mature woman's retailer", the fact is 30ish seems about the age many women discover Talbots has something for them if they shop wisely and it continues into every decade thereafter for we who appreciate updated-classics styling. Think 5-pocket jeans, all-season wool suiting, cashmere pullovers, 100% Pima cotton tees, tailored blazers, button-front shirts, pencil skirts, trousers, seasonal sweaters and outwear from casual jackets to Italian wool full length coats. I discovered the brand in my early 30's when working in a corporate job and the Talbots was across from Nordstrom where I did most of my buying. I hate to shop and I loved that Talbots staff, like Nordy's, made (and makes) it easy for me. Although I wonder when it happened that I got old enough to find some of Talbots things would be fun "If I were still young enough to get away with this...". Think this Fall's stud embellished skinny ankle-jeans. ("Aren't these GREAT?" I asked my husband. He answered, "For you they would have been twenty years ago." And yet, I stay married.) ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL: Talbots offers Petite sizing from 0 to 16. Also Misses regular sizing from 2 to 16. And Women's Plus sizing from 16 to 24. For availability, size Misses 2's are not stocked in all their retail stores. (Boise has some but from personal experience I can say it is "you snooze, you loose" to get to them before they're gone.) Except for big 'flagship' stores, they do not offer Plus sizes in store so they need to be ordered via website. Almost all stores, even Boise's small footprint, have a Petite section from 0 to 14. Tailoring services are not available. SALES: I can't imagine anyone would pay full price for anything at Talbots given their frequent 20% or 30% off sales for current season merchandise - playing the cat and mouse of watchful waiting - provide good buys and at times even 40% off on a single item. If you sign up for the "Classic Awards" program or their credit card, either one, you get 40% off on any single day of shopping in the month of your birthday. ACCESSIBILITY: Talbots does a better job than most retailers, maybe only Nordy's get's it fully right, for accessibility between product displays. There is always one fully accessible fitting room, true for Boise store as well. The Loo always is accessible too, although at times getting there is blocked with "stuff" in the Boise store. PARKING: This is located in the Towne Square Mall roughly between Cheesecake Factory and Macy's, so parking is in the mall lot on that side. NICE EXTRA: The stores have a couple of comfy seats for non-shopping others to sit and wait.

I love this Talbots. The gals that work here are so helpful. They can't do enough for you. If they…read moredon't have what you want they will order it for you.

We go to American Eagle every year to see what kind of dress we can grab my daughter for her birthday. We snag a few during the summer but we needed something fresh for her upcoming birthday dinner. I am always greeted by the nicest sales associates on the floor! One of them greeted us, asked what we were looking for and directed using to where some of the dresses were located. We checked out the new fall dresses and weren't really into anything so we headed to the sales racks. We found a couple potential pieces and wanted to try them on. We got a room by one of the sales associates. I appreciate that they grab the customer's name to make it more personal. He got my daughter's name all written down and told us to holler at him if we needed anything. My daughter tried on her dresses and we found a nice one to wear to one of her birthday dinners. We ended our shopping visit with a sweet gal checking us out. We were also thanked by a couple girls in the front on our way out. I have always enjoyed shopping here. The clothes are cute and the staff is hella nice. I am sure I'll be back soon!

The AE Mall location is a 1000x better than the store out at the Village in Meridian…read more With the fate of malls up in the air, because of online crap...I'm scared that we will lose the mall store. Oh, I kinda LOVE American Eagle. Great clothes for guys, amazing workout clothes...which is good for someone who lives in a gym....YUP! I totally just said that about myself, hahahahaha! Seriously tho, we know they have great stuff in AE. Reason why I say it's better than the village store is because... the Village store is tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny! And OH DEAR GOD! it's always so damn busy in there! So you're like a bunch of cattle moving through a tiny store... It's kinda like how you're moved through one of them GOD AWFUL IKEA stores, hahahaha! IKEA ugh! I know their stores are 5 warehouses in one vs a small AE store, but I'm using thos comparison to describe how CRAMPED the village store is! Also, the mall store has more product, more clearance items....hahaha, who doesn't love them some discounted AE stuff? Hahahaha! I'm a cheap bitch LMAO! (I really wish Yelp would let us use emojis lol). The staff at the mall is super sweet and incredibly attentive. I had an issue recently...bought a pair of shorts that I ordered while at THE VILLAGE STORE....lol. Well, she ordered them and whatnot. I ordered the dark gray, medium. She ordered me the XL, with the light gray....this is where an emoji would help lol. So I was there for a dinner...went and returned them and reordered the other ones. She put the order in, took my $$$ and two weeks later....STILL. NO. SHORTS. She never ordered them, hahaha! Whatever, right? Finally REORDERED them...AGAIN...from a SUPER bubbly manager at the mall..wish I could remember her name. She was fantastic. She ordered them and then gave me 15% off for the inconvenience. A discount is a discount, no matter the amount, right? Was just really nice of her to do that for me. Moral of this long story....GO TO THE MALL LOCATION! it's just better in every aspect. Also, American Eagle....DO NOT EVER CLOSE THE MALL STORE!!!!!! ya know, unless the mall shuts totally down...which Boise mall does pretty good. Always crowded. So maybe there's hope for that place! Thanks again for reading, Yelper peeps! Cheers!
