She did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair! I love it. The salon has a very laid back vibe and is situated in a neighborhood, which makes it feel unpretentious in the best way. It's comfortable and they have a great selection of Kerastase and Oribe products, which they use in house, with 20% on product the first Friday of the month! I moved to Denver around a year and a half ago from the East Coast, and had been trying to find a new hairstylist since I had moved away and my previous one (who I had been seeing for ~15 years) also retired. I typically got a cut and partial highlight every 3 to 6 months. I went a long time without a haircut, and saw someone new closer to my hometown during the holidays who ended up using bleach to do a FULL highlight and left me with a pretty streaky dye job that was way too blonde than what I asked for. On my flight back to Denver, after hearing great things about Mauve Salon from friends in the area, I made an appointment with Casey the next day. Casey did such an amazing job with my hair! She completely understood what I didn't like about my hair and was able to fix everything. She got me back to my preferred shade of blonde and it looks better than ever. I showed her a couple candid pictures of me on days I had gotten my hair done with my previous stylist, and she was able to completely replicate the look and exact color I was looking for. She was also able to give me the haircut I wanted in addition to fixing the color, at a very reasonable cost. Casey was also very accommodating with scheduling, so I was able to get a cut and color on pretty short notice. I could not be more happy with the service provided. The salon itself is gorgeous and has a parking lot for clients to use. The ambiance is very welcoming and they have teasing coffees to hold you over while you are spending some time at the salon. I didn't want to have to write this review because the establishment and all the workers are very nice, but unfortunately I had a bad experience my last visit. I went to someone new and unfortunately part of my hair was burned off during my blowout. This happened three months ago and I never wrote a review because I really like the salon and the people. But it's been three months with part of my hair fried off and it is driving me absolutely crazy. Finding a new stylist is hard. And trusting someone new with your hair is even harder. Thankfully I had a friend who had Serena cutting and coloring her hair so I had seen her work. I booked an appointment online with ease and bam. Serena is now my go to gal for hair needs. She's chopped it. She's balayaged it. She's done hair treatments. She's a blonde specialist and also cute as a button. The salon itself has quite a few talented folks and always seems to be busy when I go. They also have a small parking lot under the building. Suzanne is a Goddess when it comes to Blondes. I feel like a Goddess when I leave! I am blown away at her attention to detail and expertise in all things blonde. I am very, very picky. I notice everything. My hair was literally flawless when I left. I am in awe of her gift to see the vision and then be able to execute the masterpiece! She color corrected me. She gave me a phenomenal haircut. She listened to me! She understood what had been going "wrong" before and how to fix it and never let it happen again. I am putty in her hands going forward. SCAM! DO NOT give this place your business. I purchased a Groupon around a year ago for a men's haircut by Rico the stylist. Upon arrival for a scheduled haircut, the receptionist told me I would not be able to receive the haircut I was promised and purchased on Groupon. Instead of receiving the service that I purchased, she explained that there was a scheduling issue, and that I would not be able to receive the service... This is the only review I have ever written online in my life. I gave them my money and received nothing. All I want is for Rico to never be able to use Groupon to scam another person. read more

I'm usually not one to give a negative review, but I was really disappointed. First time going here, and my stylist makes a big deal out of how experienced she is with curly hair. She kept mentioning how the last person who cut my hair had "no clue how to do a curly cut." I told her I was hoping to keep as much length as possible, then she tells me she'll just cut off "my tail." Then proceeds to take almost two inches off my hair. She also outright interrupted me so she could listen to a conversation between another client and stylist. They grow out beautifully and I can go 4 full months between appointments. My hair actually costs less than my husband's if you average it out over a year. This is the same location where Asteria Salon used to be - it's just under new ownership. They did a swanky redecoration during the takeover this summer, and I really like the new look and feel. I came across a deal on Groupon for a 50% off men's haircut from Rico and I am so grateful that I did! His work is amazing! I just recently moved here to Denver, CO about seven months ago from Phoenix, AZ, where I've had the same stylist for YEARS and I've been trying to find someone that matches his work and I finally found it! It took about MULTIPLE different tries but it was well worth the wait! Not only is his work incredible but he's very personable, really funny and gave me solid advice for the things I was going through in life! Been searching for a dedicated stylist for years and I found her in Annji M! She's talented and personable; my hair has never looked better!

*I'm going to start off by saying I never write reviews, my boyfriend and I are pretty understanding when it comes to mistakes/mishaps. With that being said, we are pretty dissatisfied with how this mistake was handled.* We found this salon on Groupon as they were running a deal for a men's haircut, shampoo and conditioning treatment plus a scalp massage with stylist Rico. I called this morning and talked to a woman who scheduled us a men's haircut for today at 2 pm. We walked in for his appointment and were told it wasn't anywhere in their system and they had somebody else booked for then. Then, the staff kind of scrambled around and were debating who's fault it was. Nobody besides the girl who was helping us at the front desk was directly addressing us which felt weird. We then asked if there were any other appointments open, and apparently Rico was all booked for today and is going on vacation tomorrow. He supposedly won't be back for a week or so, and this is a problem for us as we leave town in a couple days and won't return until January. The Groupon also expires in December. We then asked if we could be refunded and were told that they can't do anything about it, but she would double check. She seated us and after a few minutes, we were told there could be no refund but told us they could get us in with a different stylist in about 15 mins. We asked if the Groupon would apply with this stylist. She said no and that it only applies to Rico however it's their cheapest stylist and would cost $35. We had already paid about $20 on Groupon so we didn't exactly want to fork over more money. At this point, we decided it was best to leave considering there was no other option for us besides paying way more than anticipated. What I don't understand is, why didn't Rico come over and speak to us if he was aware of the situation (he was just starting to take care his other client booked for 2 pm, he could have spared us a couple minutes). Also, if they couldn't give us a refund but were already paid through Groupon, then why weren't we given some kind of compensation? If they made a mistake like that, they should fix it especially since we have already paid. We could have been given a gift certificate or credit for a later haircut, some kind of discount on the haircut from the other stylist, perhaps even squeezed in for an appointment sometime before they close. We felt as though it was handled with an apology and a shrug, kind of as an "I don't know what to tell you/ there's nothing we can do" situation. Essentially, they just took $20 from us and gave us no service or compensation. read more

When I arrived at 1:15, they refused to take me, said they didn't have enough time and would have to reschedule. The receptionist wasn't helpful, offered a lack luster apology and didn't do anything to fix the situation. Furthermore, she made it seem like my fault although I was told I could show up at 1:15. Having worked in the service industry for several years I'm familiar with the saying, "the customer is always right", and while I don't agree, as a business you most certainly don't make your customers feel wrong when the fault is clearly your own. read more

I had the strangest experience here! I was searching for a new salon since I just moved to Denver and was excited to work with the owner, Amanda. I made an appt., and a couple of days before the appt, they called to ask me to reschedule. They offered only one option, which I could not do. I told them I would just need to find a new salon (and was thinking that this was not a good first impression). Amanda then called me to apologize and said this never happens but that she forgot that she was going out of town the day my appt was scheduled. She agreed to see me the next morning on her day off, which was very nice! I was happy with my cut so I made another appt in 6 weeks. Then the same thing happened again!! I was shocked to receive a call letting me know that Amanda could not see my on the day of my appt. They again offered only one option for rescheduling, which again, did not work for me. I told them that I would need to find a new salon since this whole cancelling thing does not work for me. I have been going to hair salons all of my life and this has never happened to me before. I guess Amanda did not want my business. Very strange business practice. The good news is that I found an awesome salon and stylist elsewhere (Russ Salon). So it all turned out for the best, but the whole thing was very perplexing and frustrating! I cannot recommend this salon due to my experience. read more

I go to Keva Morris who has been styling my hair for over a year. She is quite knowledgeable about natural hair and truly has a love for working with all types of textures. Since I have been working with her my hair has improved in health, strength and thickness. She is very gentle with my hair and she understands that despite the coarse appearance, each hair strand is quite delicate. I have been going to Amanda Duck at Mauve Salon for about a year now and she is great! She always cuts my hair in the exact way I like it and adds lots of layers and face-framing. She is also a magician with my bangs which is no easy task. I can go a full two-three months between cuts because she cuts it in a way that allows my hair to grow out nicely. The salon is in a convenient part of town, just a couple blocks east of Cherry Creek mall, and while parking can be a bit hectic in that area, I've never had too much trouble finding a street spot. Lenise is by far the best hair stylist I've ever seen and I am so grateful for finding her. During my initial appointment she spent dedicated time with me learning about my hair and what I like. I've never had someone spend that amount of time with me and it made me feel completely confident in her listening skills and that she would give me what I truly wanted which she did. As a brunette I feel like stylists always want to take me lighter but Lenise specializes in brunette hair and knows exactly what will look best on me. I've been back twice and she continues to spend time with me on the consult and is excited and open to any changes I want to make. On top of the fact that she does an amazing job with my hair she is such a sweet soul. I love chatting with her and sharing stories. I've committed myself to more regular appointments than I've done in the past because she is a pleasure to go to and never disappoints. I've been seeing Amanda Williams for 6 years now. She has always been so flexible and wonderful to work with. She has such great attention to detail and will help me make decisions when I have no idea what I actually want to do with my hair. It's like she's inside my head and knows exactly what I want.
