If it happened to me it's probably happened to someone else. The owner of this salon (pretty short Asian man) sexually assaulted me doing my hair. He waited until everyone left and then started diming the lights, was weird but I didn't react or think a lot of it. He started to get anxious? And was pacing around and I grew impatient because I wanted to toner rinsed out it had been well over 10 minutes. He took me to the sink area and while I was laying back with my eyes closed he touched my breast. I said stop and he did. I looked up and around for a camera because I couldn't believe it, the camera is only in the front of the salon. He planned this, turned the lights down and took me to the back sink area with no cameras. At the end of the appointment he offered a discount . We didn't speak of the touching. I was so shocked I didn't know how to react. I was 23 and a dancer at the time. I had shared where I worked and my experience and gossip as I would any stylist. And honestly I thought he was gay and I was safe. Be careful with this salon owner and don't leave your daughters alone with him.

If you are in the market for a new stylist and salon, look no further. I've been coming to Indigo to see my girl Virlena for over 14 years. She is hands down, the best in Denver. My best friend and I have had polar opposite hairstyles for over a decade, no shortage of crazy style requests and ideas (some that Virlena graciously helped us realize were not a great idea) and she has hit every cut and color out of the park. Not only does Virlena kill the hair game, she's also an amazing person, she cares so much about her clients, neighbors, and strangers alike. The salon itself has been a pillar in the cheeseman park neighborhood and bubbles over with positive, comfy energy. V gave it a much needed facelift about a year ago and the new vibe is contemporary urban without forgetting to feature different local artist's work on the walls throughout the year. I have been going to Virlena for a while now and wouldn't trust my hair to anyone else. My hair has a hard time growing, so not only has she helped me get it healthy, she also thinks outside of the box for solutions - and THAT is what I like. She adapts easily to changes I may make at the last minute and is always there to offer suggestions. The salon itself is always clean, the stylists are always friendly and I always see them talking to their clients as if they were family. Prior to trusting Virlena with my hair, I never got it trimmed, cut, styled or maintained in any way - and she has taught me alot about my hair, the best shampoos to use, the hair folicles etc. I am always satisfied and happy - and a little sad, when my visit is over because I enjoy my visits with Virlena so much! read more

I will never stray again....I began going to Virlena at Indigo salon in 2007 and she is amazing. Caring, very inventive and informative when it comes to giving her clients what they want even if they aren't exactly sure how to tell her. I decided at one point to try another hairdresser at Brows named Christopher and ended up having to go back twice to complete my look, it wasn't what I really wanted and cost twice as much...ridiculous. I love the environment at Indigo and it's evident how much they all care about their clients, the neighborhood, and making sure your service is top of the line for a price that is reasonable. I have a hard time trusting people with my hair. It seems that whenever I tell the stylist what I want they do what THEY want instead. Not so with Indigo. Verlana asked me the questions she needed answered in order to give me the cut and color I wanted. I also saw Ben, Gretchen and Brett employing the same technique of asking first and cutting second. I would trust any one of the stylists I saw working because of the interaction between them and their customers. I look forward to seeing them again!!! read more

My massage therapist Travis Wright at Indigo is AMAZING!! I have gone to several massage therapist over the years & none of them come close to being as good as Travis is. He listens to what you want &/or need, explains what he is doing & why & makes sure you are comfortable through the whole process. He just seems to have a true calling for massage & truly wants you to have a good, pleasant & relaxing experience every time. I would recommend him a million times over. I went in for a haircut, I came out a customer! It was a Saturday morning when I arrived. Virlena made me feel comfortable and treated me and my hair like she'd known us forever. The cut was just what I wanted. I felt 10 years younger when we finished. (that's priceless itself!) I have been going to this salon for years and drive from Lafayette just to get my hair done. I've never had a bad experience and get lots of compliments on my color. I read the amazing reviews for the salon and for Paul and am so glad I booked. I wanted to go platinum blonde from the dark blonde/brown I was. I came in with a mix of previously highlighted hair and box dye and Paul was able to create magic. He was up front about the risks and what would be needed on my end to maintain healthy hair once bleached, but still gave me the confidence that he could do it. And he was right! He took his time and was meticulous about not bleaching the strands that were previously highlighted and gave me an amazing deep condition. My hair actually feels healthier than before somehow. Long story short, he is the first stylist to really listen to me and what I want. He achieved it without compromising my hair. I'm just so relieved to finally find my stylist and salon. My boyfriend is a barber but never does women's cuts and he had to fix my entire cut. The "sideburn" hair in front of my left ear was a half inch longer than my right. The entire left side was about 3/4 inches longer than the right, not blended, and forgotten about. The neck line was a hack job. Like to the point where he was questioning if my stylist was drunk. For $85, then $110 with tip (the website says $45+ and I guess they really mean ++++, but I always tip) having my boyfriend fix my haircut didn't feel great. Though now he's thinking he should just get into cutting women's hair if that's what passes for a $110 cut. Won't be back.
