Growing up, it was the signature SLURPEE that drew my friends and I to this place. The frozen carbonated beverage trademarked at 7-Eleven "guaranteed a brain freeze" when consumed quickly! You can usually find most convenience store items when in a pinch: coffee, bread, milk, pop, canned goods, hot & frozen foods, cigarettes, lotto, things for your vehicle (...washer fluid, motor oil, anti-freeze, etc.), etc. Staff were friendly and courteous. Don't forget that you can sign up for the 7-Eleven rewards program on your purchases. Prices are pegged to your convenience so it's higher because you're in a bind and need something now! Buy a SLURPEE and it won't bother your frozen brain. Just saying!

I figured that sort of thing takes a long time to expire so I grabbed Multigrain Cheerios and was on my way. When I had my first bowl I knew something was wrong -- it was very stale and tasted like sawdust. To my surprise the front of the box was advertising the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney... I bought the cereal in 2002. So even though this place is fine for your usual convenient store items I would highly suggest staying away from any food. And if you do find yourself browsing those items then make sure you check the expiration date because they likely have tins of beans from 1997.

It's roughly a five-minute drive north of Hillcrest Mall. This store is a part of an Esso station. It has a touchless car wash, a vacuum, and a Tim Hortons with a drive-thru. Parking is interesting. There is one spot to the left of the store for a driver with an accessibility permit. On the right are two garage doors. Two cars were parked in front of each door. There are parking spots across from the gas station by the car wash. I backed into a spot and walked over. The Timmy's is a part of the store, next to the Circle K cashout area. Timmy's was pretty busy with customers. I had no problem finding beverages. I got two bottles of Diet Pepsi and a berry Gatorade Zero. I waited in line. There was a woman leaving Timmy's who was pleasant. She was carrying a lot of goodies. I asked if she needed help getting out of the store. She was fine and thanked me for offering to help. On the contrary, I opened the door for a young Chinese female going into the store who did not say thank you. I said, "You're welcome." Our eyes met. I figured out that her brother was the kid twirling around in the Timmy's line. It runs in the family. Ugh. Our eyes met again when they both left the store after me. I let her know that she had poor manners. I also stared her down when she was in the backseat of her mom's car leaving the gas station. Fun in Richmond Hill! Quite the contrast. I'm not your personal door person. I was carrying drinks and still managed to open the door for you. I was being nice. I didn't have to be kind to you. The LEAST you could do is say thanks. Instead, you acted like a privileged teen. I digress. I do feel better venting. Back to my review... The man at the checkout was super nice. He said hi. He asked me how I was doing. I was great then. I got my drinks scanned. I also scanned my PC Optimum barcode and paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked him. He wished me a great evening. I reciprocated. My berry Gatorade zero hit the spot. It was my first time trying it. I liked it. I'd return to this store when I'm in the area again. Customer service was great and I got the drinks that I needed. The coffees and hot chocolate are Tim Hortons brand, not Circle K brand. They also sell lotteries. I got Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (46g) as a snack after getting gas from Esso. I was heading home from…read moreRichmond Hill and wanted to visit the Circle K at Markham Road and Major Mackenzie Drive in Markham, which is one of my go-to stores. It was a Thursday evening, just before 10 pm. The gas price at this Esso gas station was so low that the lineup spilled onto Markham Road. I had to pass dropping by the store. Instead, I drove a few blocks south to this Circle K. It's on the southwest corner of Markham Road and 16th Avenue. I pass by it often. It was my first time stopping by. There were many parking spots available in front of the store. I backed into one. This convenience store is also a part of an Esso gas station. Oddly, there wasn't a massive lineup for gas here. This store also has a built-in Tim Hortons. I witnessed a woman who wanted Timmy's, but it wasn't open. She was making such a fuss that a Circle K employee had to speak with her and got her to chill. She obviously needed caffeine. I found the Polar Pop machine. I was pleased that it had Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi. Most of the time, it's all full-on sugary drinks. I got a Diet Pepsi. I then browsed around the store. There was a Mountain Dew sale happening. A case of twelve cans was going for $14.99. I'm not a regular Mountain Dew consumer. I find the price to be expensive. I'm not sure if it's because the flavours were limited editions or if you pay more for Mountain Dew. Who knows? This store has a decent selection of limited edition chocolate bars and candy. I was happy to see KitKat Rolo chunky bars. The strawberry Smarties intrigued me. I also saw strawberry scoop Aero bars that looked yummy, too. I waited briefly in line to redeem my coupon. I got a friendly man at the counter. I got my coupon scanned. The drink was mine. I thanked him and left the store with my drink. Maybe I'm used to the crispness of Diet Coke from McDonald's (I do miss $1 summer drinks these days). I didn't taste any of that in my Diet Pepsi. The flavouring was a bit off. Maybe it needed more syrup. It was okay for free. I'd return for the limited edition flavours. I was pleased that I could redeem my coupon here. (362)

Patrick subway station and 510 spadina streetcar both being indirect options with a bit of a walk, st. Patrick being close, and the spadina streetcar stop being further away. parking options would be on side streets and private above and below lots in the neighborhood. would go out of my way to come to this store and i hope no one else is inside so i don't have to fight to grab what i need for my journey!

This Circle K is attached to an Esso gas station. Along with the Tim Hortons drive-thru and the car wash, everything takes up a lot of real estate. They are all spread out more than most with this setup. It's a busy business. There was a huge lineup at the Timmy's drive-thru that's a part of this Circle K. I squeaked by and pulled into a parking spot steps away from the door. Most gas pumps were occupied. The car wash was equally as busy. This Circle K-Esso combo is popular for at least two reasons. It's close to the mall. It's also close to highway 401, which was what I took eastbound to make another stop and ultimately head home. I had digital coupons to redeem. I headed inside and had no problem finding bottled water and peanuts. There was a mom-son duo ahead of me. The son seemed extremely indecisive as to what drinks he wanted to get. I saw him go back and forth four times before he settled on a single drink. I didn't mind the wait. Normally, I am taking a while to redeem my coupons. I felt good knowing that he took longer. It was finally my turn. The man at the counter was fine. Not friendly. Not mean. He seemed indifferent. I scanned all coupons. I then scanned my PC Optimum barcode off my phone, and then paid for my peanuts with my debit card. Done! I thanked the man. I got no response. I left the store. I feel like everyone keeps to themselves in this neighbourhood. I parked next to a car whose driver was asleep the entire time that I was here. Poor guy. He was out cold, likely colder than my bottled drinks. I'd drop by again. It had everything that I needed, with a bonus sleepyhead. (41)
