I want to Mavis to have my Honda Civic tires aligned, as I've heard that this area maybe this is a pretty good one. I was not disappointed. I found this location to have pretty spot on mechanics and service advisors. I was able to get the work done in a reasonable time maybe an hour or an hour and a half. I went in the next day with my 2014 GMC truck to get the brakes flushed. When they attempted to do so encountered understandably a rusty bleeder valves on all four brake calipers. Instead of trying to take them off and possibly stripping or breaking them they did the smart move and Told me that the leaders were stripping because of the rust and rather than damage or break them they asked me what I wanted to do. Of course, I said that I have somebody that has more expertise with that issue(stubborn and rusty parts that need to come off ) and likely will have to torch some heat on them to get them off. I was very glad that they had the cognizance to stop and ask me first and I was very grateful for them doing so. Needless to say they did not charge me and I did manage to get the four brake bleeder screws replaced at another mechanic that I deal with exclusively for these issues. I will be back to visit this location to get service, as I feel very comfortable in doing so at the present time. Well done team! read more

Five stars? Visiting some pals and took to this place for oil change. They didn't bother to/couldn't properly re-install splash guards and oil door below car. Had it come off on the freeway and drag, ruining the part. This happened right after the change, so it was definitely them...maybe they broke a clip or two trying to put it in. Not surprising, since when they gave it back to me, mechanic said he couldn't figure out how to turn off maintenance light (simple key/button combo). We're talking a Honda here, and one with the owner's manual on the seat. Was there oil in the car? Yes, but you know I checked after how sloppy these guys were. read more

I love this place they are probably the best Mavis in the capital Region and beyond. The guys that work there are knowledgeable and I know I am in good hands when I pull up. I drive about 55,000 to 60,000 miles a year for work and these guys keep my car in great working order, and the value of that is hands down unbeatable. I called on Saturday and placed an order for tires, great all is good. Sunday I get a follow up about my order confirming if I'll be in on Monday, I obviously confirm. Wheels were dropped off at 745 am to get mounted, i see the store opener as i drop them off and make sure he knows that they are for my order. At 2 pm I get a call saying the fella that worked over the weekend made a mistake and my wheels weren't ordered but they could have them by Wednesday, I oblige. Wednesday I go to pick up my wheels at 5 pm and well guess what the wheels weren't ordered again and the assistant manager had zero care or compensation for this negligence. yesterday on my way to an appointment up in Albany I noticed my tire light came on. when I got to my destination I noticed my tire was leaking air very rapidly. within 30 minutes my tire was completely flat. I put air into it and tried to get home as fast as I could. I stopped at 3 places along the way to see if they could patch the tire for me unfortunately i had no luck getting anyone to help me. First thing this Saturday morning I called mavis discount tire in Chatham which was close to my work and they told me to come right in and they would help me out. Over the years I have tried many tire shops in the area and have become prepared for the hard sell, and sometimes lies. In contrast, the Chatham Mavis location was an absolute pleasure to deal with. They let me drop my own tires off a day earlier, and scheduled an appointment that was convienient for me. They took me in right away, there was no high pressure sales pitch, and there were no scare tactics. I was so pleased with the tire mounting, that I gave the tech a $20. Hi All, we caught a nail on a road trip. The Mavis Tire Store in Chatham NY was fabulous. They first tried to fix the tire, but when it failed to hold air, I was able to purchase a new tire for a very reasonable price, but best of all, they were very accommodating and worked us in on a busy day without an appointment so that we were not delayed long.
