I just left this Mavis location and can not praise the service enough. My daughter was on her way back to college when her tire blew out on 422. Derek was so friendly when we arrived and told us what the options may be depending on the damage. Long story short, we left with a new tire. Have used them for over 5 years with no problems but this time has been a nightmare Had 10am appt and at 11 my car was still sitting outside. Then car was to bee done between 3-5 Never got call and when calling Walt says they had problem with part they ordered not once but twice here it is now 24 hrs later and apparently part is still not there I told them I needed my car by 12 today to be somewhere!! Called again and they said they would call me back and 30 min later still no call so I call back and he says part should be here by 10-10:30 and can't guarantee my car will be done by 12 read more

I got out of work and panicked when my car said tire malfunction! I called and they were able to help me that evening while I waited. The gentlemen were nice and helpful and not condescending which can happen at some places. They showed me what was wrong and then gave me a great price to fix it. Tonight, Mavis was closed but Brandon was still there and saw me at the door and helped me out once again by filling my tires with air after Wawas air pump malfunctioned and took air out instead of in. That is a rarity in this world right now and I highly recommend this Mavis! read more

BEWARE!!! I had an appointment this week to get new tires. I called to get a quote before taking the car in and even called a second time to confirm the price. They told me they would email me a work order. It never came. There was a fill-in manager at the store that day - Adam from the Norristown Mavis. At my appointment he tried to sell me on all these extras - new wipers, a brake fluid flush, etc. I politely declined as I was there for tires. Finally, I get checked out and was overcharged. Adam said he couldn't refund me b/c something with the machine changed and he didn't have access and I would have to call customer service. I called corporate as instructed and the customer service rep told me he could do it and she called him to tell him to process it. He came back in and told me a second time he was unable to provide a credit. I left and called customer service again and was again told that he was not being truthful. Adam then calls me and says "they gave him a code so he could now process the refund" (more bs). I gave him my credit card info and instead of a refund he charged me!!! After two days and numerous phone calls and time wasted, I still don't have the full refund. On top of this, I left the store wondering if they even balanced my tires as they didn't drive right and were making noises. I've never experienced anything like this in my life and don't want this to happen to anyone else. If you still decide to use Mavis BE VERY VIGILANT. read more

these guys saved my peace of mind at 5pm on a Tuesday. my regular mechanics cancelled on me and I was going on a long road trip to New Hampshire that weekend. I called Tuesday at 8 and they asked if I could come in at 4 but I couldn't leave work so he said they wait for me til 5 (they close at 6). when I got there they looked my whole car over, took their time, and changed the oil! I never felt rushed or like I really was one of those people that walked in at closing! they were all friendly and didn't find any mystery costs! I would highly recommen! read more

This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at a car place. Brought my car in for 2 new front tires at 9 am, and I am here almost 5 hours later with no tires on my car. They tried to sell me other parts and services at least three times and I made it abundantly clear I am not opposed to these services, but I am on a time crunch, hence the 9 am appointment- it is not something I can do today. A tech comes out another hour later and tells me they can't get my lug nut off and my options are to 1. Leave the donut on or 2. Put the new tire on and leave a lug nut short and get it somewhere else. It took 5 hours to figure that out?? Or were they too busy trying to sell me stuff. As I cashed out and was visibly irritable...they tried to sell me something else. read more

If I could give this store no Stars I would. This is not the first time this has happen. My daughter went to Mavis Tire on Benjamin Franklin Hwy in Douglassville. They told her that her tire Rode had flipped upside down she came home to me and told me. I called our shop to have it looked at, they advised that they are lose. I called Mavis they tried to tell me that they are leaking and broken. They have no respect for women, this is not the first time that this has happened at this location. Knew my car needed new brake pads and found a great deal online at Mavis. Called and got a same day appointment. After checking out my brakes ,was told I needed new rotors on the front. Always a little unsure at auto shops about whether I'm being scammed but Derek was great! He took the time to show me the rotors and explain how they should look and function. Gave me a discount on the rotor replacement. He encountered a problem with a stuck/rusted brake caliper pin and showed it to me. He worked for about 10 minutes to get it unstuck and saved me the cost of having to pay for a new one. I really appreciated the time he spent working and explaining to me and left the shop happy having spent only a fraction of what I was quoted at CJ's tires and Honda dealership. Thank you! read more

The front desk guy Anthony was friendly and helpful. Oil change was suppose to cost 2499 and it ended up costing me 3899. Not sure how that happen. Asked and told labor charge. I never heard of a labor change outside the price of an oil change. read more

My wife's van threw a timing belt which took out the power steering pump. I had the car towed to Mavis as I don't have time to fix it myself and they are close to home. Bad choice. The first time they fixed it the van broke down after it threw the new timing belt, causing the new power steering pump to spill it's fluid all over the ground. This stranded my wife and kids in a parking lot. After we had the van towed back to Mavis they told us everything was fine and that it was a faulty belt. I called bull on that, I work for a company that has 650 service vans and our mechanics said they've never heard of such a thing and that something else is out of alignment or bad. After a back and forth with Mavis' district manager he said he had a certified state inspector and dodge mechanic come out to look over the van and make sure everything was alright. Sure enough their guys said everything was perfect. A few days later the battery exploded from the negative terminal. I bought a new battery and swapped it. Two days later the van threw the timing belt again. I'm done dealing with these people, I'm getting a lawyer and having Mavis foot the bill for a real mechanic to fix it. Overall we forked out over 1,000 dollars to have a van that's more broken than it was when we took it in. Avoid this place at all costs if you value your money and even more importantly your family. read more

I have used Mavis tires for years, formerly STS and was always incredibly satisfied. Went in last year to have them replace my timing belt because they offered a great price. Recently discovered, by taking my car to another mechanic, Mavis installed the timing belt completely wrong. I had first taken my car back to Mavis because of the sound i was hearing coming from my engine. There response was, we don't know what is going on, take it to the dealer. Within 45 minutes of taking it to another mechanic, he was able to tell me it was my timing belt. Had to spend hundreds of dollars more to get it fixed correctly. We went back to Mavis to ask for some compensation and they said they bore no responsibility. Needless to say, we will never use their services again. read more

Had a slow leaking tire, and it just needed the rim cleaned to fix it. I agreed to let them look at all 4 tires, and they assured me that all was good, after servicing all my tires. Four days later, I had a completely flat tire. The worst part of all, is that they broke my passenger side window, and didn't even say anything. I drove away, thinking everything was great, and didn't understand why my window wouldn't go up. They forced it down, broke the chain mechanism, and the motor. I had to tape the window up, until I was able to get it to my mechanic. You may wonder why I didn't go running back to Mavis to complain and demand a refund. I have no faith in this company, especially when they didn't admit to there wrong doing. Therefore, I don't think they'd be accountable, or do anything to rectify this situation. It's a loss and a lesson learned. I would advise anyone to go somewhere else. read more

Best price I could find on brand name tires in the area (I ordered the tires and set up the appointment on mavistire.com). Offered several extra services, but I was only interested in getting tires at the time, so I declined. Very happy with the initial service. Everyone was professional and my car was done when they said it would be. Two weeks after getting four new tires, I got an unrepairable flat. Took it back and instead of just making me buy a new tire, they let me buy the hazard package and retroactively applied it to my new tires. Saved me a lot of money and I got hazard coverage in addition. Will be returning for future service and would recommend them to anyone. read more
