Went to Mavis the night before to order tires and make appointment to get them installed. Next day I call Mavis at 11am to see if the tires were in and maybe I could get in earlier than the 12pm appointment. So the lady tells me there in and I can come in now. I get there at 11:30 and waited FOUR PLUS HOURS for mount and balance on 4 tires. This is insane. If they knew they were booked and only had two mechanics they could've 1- had me come in another day or 2- had me come back when things slowed down. I waited it out and didn't want them rushing on my car. But after the 2 1/2 hour marker I was steaming inside and mentioned to the shop manager "hey it's been 2 1/2 hours, the car is still parked in the same spot and hasn't been touched yet. He quickly runs outside, brings the car in and puts it on the lift. Car sat there for about another half hour or so. I paced around, changed seats multiple times, took a walk ect.. Then finally they started working on it. After all that time waiting you would think there would be some apology or remorse. But nothing... Only thing I got was my car with a low air symbol. lol Had to have them put the correct amount of air in. Mavis you need to do better than this. I stopped going to the other location in Wappingers from my last review and now this here. This was the better Mavis to go to. read more

Brought my car in for an oil change and once over before going away on a long road trip with my family. The manager Chris greeted me and held the door open to the warm waiting area. I was able to watch my car get serviced in a timely fashion. Only thing I wasn't expecting but clearly needed was an cabin air filter change. The guys had me in and out in no time. read more

Get my car back to see grease stains on my interior driver door panel. Who the hell is running these places and why is there no care whatsoever for the cleanliness of a customers vehicle. I had a major blow out on the highway in Wappingers. I went to a local tire shop and the power went out. I went to another place and they had no availability to help me. I went to a THIRD place and they had power, the mechanic available but no tires for my car and was told to wait 1-3 days for the tires to come in. Fourth place was Mavis. They had time, power, and my tires available. They were able to get me in and out relatively quick. I ended up purchasing three new tires (4 all together) and an alignment because when the issue was explained, the guy in the front desk (forgot his name) explained (and not mansplained) the issues going on with my car. I did not at all feel taken advantage of and was given a fair price. I hope to never have another blow out but glad I found this place, especially since it was POURING rain and I had my son with special needs in with me. Date was on 8.22.2022 around 1pm and we got out in about less then 2 hours (I think lol) read more

Made an appointment for 11:00 to have oil change and NYS inspection. it is now 3:45 and I walked by my truck and no one is working on it. They should have told me that appointment times do not matter. I should have been told it would take all day for oil change and an inspection. Frustrating. read more

I went to the Mavis in Hopewell Junction rt 82 this morning at 0730, shortly after another customer pulled up and we began to chat, during our conversation we discussed how making an appt at Mavis was basically useless and we also discussed management of that store, he said that he was friends with the current manager I thought nothing of it until they opened at 8am at which time the manager took the other guy in first for an Inspection and new tires... the manager told me that guy made an appointment even after the other customer told the manager to take me first because I only needed an inspection.... it's one thing to give your buddy preference over another but it's another thing to OUTRIGHT LIE To a customer... the current manager at the mavis on 82 is a LIAR!!! I would highly recommend this place for tire surface. The person at the desk who checked in my car was friendly and efficient, the mechanics who looked at my car for me were very helpful and showed me the crack in my rim which is causing the air leak. They put air in all my tires end gave me good advice on getting myself back home to Virginia. They even gave me advice on where I could get my cracked rim repaired if I could stay in the area for another day. I got home safely back to VA by checking the air a couple of times on the drive. They were all very friendly and knowledgeable, and they did not even charge me for their time! I would highly recommend this place for their professional courtesy and professionalism. read more

Car was returned to me with door no longer able to open. Store manager would not own up too the damage. Man on site claiming to be a corporate rep. was extremely rude and looking to blame my car for the damage. It was clear they tried to lift it in the wrong spot and bent the fender. 2nd issue had the replace my brake line. Sitting at red light pedal sank too the floor. Thought maybe they bled it wrong, nope the line is leaking. I guess they dont second check and allow their customers to drive away in a unsafe vehicle. I had my son in the car!!!!! read more

I visited this business to repair a deflating tire. After 1 hour I was ensured it was repaired. HOWEVER, it wasn't as I returned to my car 40miles from my home after working 12 hours as a nurse at 11pm at night, the tire pressure was down to 6. I immediately found 2 gas stations to get enough air to make it home. I returned to Mavis today clearly upset and spoke to the same person that took care of me yest. He became defensive and said "you're in the medical field, people come back all the time not healed" and then THREW paperwork in the air towards the desk and walked into the garage! Another staff member then implied that I had another nail in my tire (was told I didn't have a nail yest). There was no accountability or apology. Poor unacceptable customer service accompanied by unskilled staff that just don't care. This incident will be escalated for sure...because that's what we do in HEALTHCARE! read more

Brought my truck in for tire repair and inspection. After the truck is on the lift I was informed that they are not able to do the inspection because their inspector is not authorized. They checked the tire and found the leak which was not repairable. They installed my spare tire and I left the rim and they ordered a new tire which they mounted and balanced for me to pick up. That was all fine. When I went home to install the new tire, I noticed a lug nut on my dashboard under some papers. My spare had all eight lug nuts but the opposite side was missing one. They had cross threaded and stripped the nut and took one from the opposite tire to hide the fact. Nobody advised me that there was a missing lug nut or that they were responsible. After installing the new tire I discovered that it was inflated to 38 lbs instead of 80. The required pressure is printed on the tire and the door jamb. Any competent mechanic would not make such an error. These are rudimentary tasks but the staff and management at this facility are unable to pull them off which is pathetic for any repair shop. Poor tradesmanship with inadequate training and supervision is a bad combination. Take your car elswhere! read more

this is the worst place ever I went here for an oil change and they drained the oil but did not replace the oil. after returning my car back to the place they accused me of lying until Look it up in the computer.. did not receive reimbursement for there mistake. I needed an NYS trailer inspection. The one in Hopewell DMV machine was down so I called up the one in Wappingers. The first guy who answered was rude and told me yeah guy it's going to be be a long wait... you should call back early afternoon and we can get you in by the end of the day. I called back and a different guy was like idk who you talked to but we've been overbooked for weeks and we don't have time for that. Mind you a NYS trailer inspection is basically just verifying the lights the lights work. No lift, in and out in the snap a finger. Even if they couldn't free up a guy for 30seconds to get it done, then just say sorry unfortunately we're booked for the day. Do not say call later for a time to bring it by and then deny the potential customer in a rude way. Anyone looking for service I'd encourage you to go to their hopewell location. They treat their customers with respect. read more

The Mavis on 124 Old Post Road is a horrible auto shop. There is a reason when you drive by you never see customers cars there. They have zero customer service skills. I recently had them do a small tire replacement on my car, they didn't follow my simple instructions and replaced the 2 wrong tires and even did a wheel alignment on my car with a completely flat front tire. Didn't apologize to me when I had to bring my car back in for their fault. They didn't call me to let me know my car was ready on both times they had my car. The mechanics there are mickey mouse mechanics and have no idea what they are doing, Mavis hires any joe blow off the streets with little to no mechanical experience whatsoever. I spent $600 there for 2 brand new tires and a wheel alignment, wasn't offered a refund for them doing a wheel alignment with my front tire completely flat. You call yourself mechanics and you didn't notice I had a completely flat front tire before attempted to do a wheel alignment? I wonder how many customers got screwed from this same shop with their faulty wheel alignments considering they don't even make sure the front tires have the proper psi. I hope the mechanics who work there are reading this review. You are taken customers hard earned money to do work on their cars, which isn't even mechanic quality at all, you should be a lot more respectful to these people, and at least call them to let them know their car is done. I would drive the extra miles to take your car to a more reputable auto repair shop, the mechanics at Mavis on 124 Old Post Road are wannabe mechanics with no clue how to deal with car repairs or customers. read more

I needed an oil change and couldn't reach my ordinary mechanic as he is 150 miles away from my current location. I called a few places before I called mavis. They were friendly on the phone and offered the 10$ oil change discount without me suggesting it(although I did see it online and was going to bring it in). They did find issues upon the oil change and upsold me on steering fluid and a new air filter. He seemed honest and tried to educate me on the matter, so I agreed to replace these. The total bill was 60$ for the oil change, air filter, and steering fluid. I felt like it was a fair price, and I would go back if I couldn't reach my regular mechanic again. read more
