After more than a year of chasing down a vibration issue on my WK2, Justin took the time to actually listen, test the vehicle thoroughly, and apply his own experience to find what multiple Jeep service centers (about five) missed. The root cause ended up being a missing NVH foam piece - something simple, but overlooked repeatedly. Bolt also worked directly with my warranty company and made a real effort to get as much covered as possible, which I appreciated. While they were in there, they were upfront about the spark plugs - noting that since access was already open, it made sense to take care of it now rather than paying for the same labor again down the road. That kind of transparency goes a long way. Overall, the team comes across as fair, honest, and focused on doing things the right way. I picked up my girlfriend car since she works. That's why you don't remember me. Maybe you will remember this. You left me holding the bag on her Prius! Had to drive back to Long Island with all the warnings lights on after you said " I didn't work on this car" meaning someone else did. You took NO responsibility. You did a poor job. Had to bring the car to another shop to repair a brake sensor which you failed to notice. (Reason the lights were on). And 1300 cash for four ignition coils that literally sit on top of the engine and any harbor freight code reader would have diagnosed. Shame on you!! read more

He gave me extremely practical advice (and a few things to try before needing to bring in the car to the shop, which I really appreciated), but long story short I needed to bring my car in to be serviced. Bolt in Poughkeepsie went above and beyond helping us with car trouble! My son is a student at Marist and a tire blew out. Not knowing any auto shops up there, I Googled, read some great reviews, and called up Bolt and spoke to Adam. He was friendly and knowledgeable. They ordered replacements and when my son showed up they saw the actual wheel to the car was missing. When his tire blew out, someone else put spare on but left the wheel. It was a mess but Bolt offered to drive to the spot where he had the flat and find the missing wheel. Plus they even dropped my son off at school on the way! Let me start out by saying that I am a daughter of a mechanic who has 35+ years experience. I had an issue with my car in which my check engine light came on and started having acceleration problems. At first I was super worried because the only mechanic (at the time) I trusted with any of my cars, was my dad. Unfortunately, he's located over 2 hrs away and I knew it was very unsafe to try and drive that kind of distance with a vehicle that had the problems it did. Looking on yelp, I noticed Bolt Mechanics because of its perfect 5 star rating. It almost seems like its too good to be true for any place on yelp to have the perfect rating. However, after my experience with them, I can see why they stand true to such a rating. When my car had an issue, I ran the diagnostics and found out what was potentially wrong. I contacted Bolt Mechanics via Yelp. I received a very prompt response from Adam. He was super friendly and professional in every way. After I spoke to him and told him which codes were going off, he gave me a quote, and told me what the possible issues may be. The part that I sincerely appreciate is the fact that Adam didnt try to sell me on other bs services. He was friendly and completely professional throughout the whole process. My car ended up needing a part replaced. Adam handled everything and made the experience very smooth. I received my car the next day since the part had to be ordered and him and his mechanic did a wonderful job. They used my car as their guinea pig. I luckily found these guys because I've been so slammed with work that I haven't had a chance to get my car looked at or the oil changed, which was needed since I had a long road trip coming up. I scheduled to have them show up to my house right after I got home from work and they were in and out in 15 minutes! Oil was changed and car was checked over. I didn't have to lift a finger other than give them my keys. It was soooo convenient and saved me an errand to run! Adam (the owner) was really knowledgeable and very pleasant. Oscar (the mechanic) was super friendly and came prepared with all the tools needed. I was wary at first having them come to my house since I'm a woman but they were respectful and never once asked me to use the bathroom or anything to make me feel uncomfortable (unlike a Time Warner guy once). So I was looking to buy a used Honda Civic in Poughkeepsie. My last few cars sucked so I promised myself I'd get this one inspected before I bought it.
