Went in with problems with two tires. The manager was very polite & concerned with my problems He explained they were very busy & closed at 5:00 It was 3:00 & the waiting from was full Needing the tires checked, I said I would wait. The store stayed busy & at 4:30 they got to my car. The tire guy quickly found the problem with one tire, pulled the nail & did the patch job. They did the inspection of the other tire & couldn't find anything The assistant manager advised me to keep an eye on it & to return if the warning light came back on By 5:00 I was on the road home. Ryan is THE BEST! I had a shard of metal in my tire I noticed the day before I had to made a 6-7 hour drive from NC to PA. I called and he was very professional on the phone and told me to stop in. He and his staff took care of me right away. They checked out my tire and stated that thankfully it didn't go all the way through. I'd been a loyal customer to Precision Tune until they decided to play in my daughter's face. So I knew I needed to find a new repair shop, and fast when her car started shaking anytime she hit the brakes. I'll admit, I was hesitant about trying Mavis because we're new to the area, and I hadn't heard much about them. But I figured I'd at least give them a shot when I saw all the glowing reviews from folks in the community. Plus their $140 off brake service coupon didn't hurt either. I understood what everyone was talking about from the moment I walked through the doors and met Ryan. He was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. The technician let Ryan know that the brakes and rotors were actually in good shape after running a few tests, The real problem was that the front bearings had gone bad. And not only that, but one of them wasn't even OEM like the others due to a repair following an accident. That explained the clicking sound whenever my daughter made a right turn. My jaw hit the floor when Ryan shared how much it would cost to do the repair. I asked if he could apply any type of discount since my coupon wasn't applicable to the work. He said that he already had applied a discount as he revealed the actual cost of the repair without the $180 discount that he was giving me. Appreciating the honesty, transparency, and willingness to help Ia dad,our, I told him to please go ahead and complete the repair. He originally said they'd be done around 1:30, but when they realized a part had to be delivered, Ryan called me right on time to give me an update. Sure enough, the car was ready around 4:30, just like he said. Even though he had left for the day by the time we picked it up, everything was squared away. I Needed two new tires and decided to try this place out since it just opened in Darlington. First, I went through their website and found it very helpful to see their tire inventory and pricing. I started setting up an appointment through the web (which was super easy) but ended up calling since I needed to go in the same day. The lady on the phone was super helpful and had me setup with an appointment in a matter of minutes. Upon arrival, employees I encountered were friendly, professional, and helpful. They checked me in and got started on my car right away. I was a little worried since they did try to upsale a $30 flat tire warranty and offered a free brake inspection. The last time I had a free inspection at an auto shop in Florence it cost me $800. I declined the flat tire warranty, but they did say it covered flats for the life of the tire, which could be helpful for others, but I had just not planned for it in my budget. I did agree to the free inspection, but had no intention of paying for brake repairs. I understand the up sales, and know they are trained to offer these, but they can be annoying, however the employees here were not pressuring me into anything and didn't try to haggle with me after me giving them a response. The lobby/waiting area was clean, open, and very inviting. They even have a kids toy corner which was awesome since I had a three year old accompanying me. My three year old gravitated right to the toys and had a blast between playing and looking through the glass into the garage area while they worked on our car. I would only suggest for the lobby area that they do try to add some vending machines for drinks or snacks; although Walgreens is right next door and Walmart is a parking lot away if you desperately did need something like that. They worked very fast and I appreciated that they came and got me to come out to the garage in order to provide me with a clear visual of my worn rotors and the condition of the two tires that weren't getting replaced (both were pretty bad). My husband had planned to fix the rotors and I let them know that and they didn't try to push anything on me. Being able to see the condition of the remaining two tires helped me decide to go for all four new tires and the employee even offered a really nice discount to ease me into the decision. I also asked them if they could do an alignment on all four tires and they were able to add it and set that up instantly. I used an online coupon for $10 off the alignment. The total price for everything was very reasonable and totally worth it for me. Many women can agree with me that going to get auto repairs can be such a nightmare when mechanics try to use your gender and lack of knowledge to their financial advantage. There was none of that here, everything was crystal clear and I drove away a happy customer. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in need of tires/auto repairs! read more

I took my car to Mavis Tire and Auto in Darlington, SC on 2/15/2024 for brake pads, they recommended some new calipers, I told them I just wanted the pads. I promptly paid them $210. I was not informed of anything else. A few days later I happened to notice that one of my lug nuts was missing on my car and the stud was stripped and I stopped by this place as soon as I could on 3/5/2024. I was lied to and told that they informed me of this the day I had the brake pads done. I was then told they would contact me back when they had the replacement part and set up for another shop to fix it because they don't have the press. I never hear anything about my car stud being fixed, so I call Tyler on 3/11/2024 to find out if they have the part in and when they plan on fixing my car. Tyler then tells me that I was supposed to order the part because Mavis can't order off of Rockauto. This is another lie. I asked Tyler to tell me what part to purchase off Rockauto, he said he'll call me back. Guess what, he hasn't called me back.... On 3/12/2024, I send a message to customerservice@mavistire.com with this same complaint, along with how rude Tyler is. I also submitted a complaint through their website through their "Contact us" portal which doesn't allow you to type too much. I also looked up my invoice at this time for the invoice number for the complaint and saw that they charged me for 79.99 for a TPMS check, something I didn't ask for, need or verbally agree to. Anyways, Surprise!, I never heard anything. I sent another email to customerservice@mavistire.com today (3/13/2023). These people aren't responding .I also want to emphasize that Tyler is super rude to customers and his coworkers alike, he goes out of his way to make sure customers are made to feel like an inconvenience. I am now having to get this car fixed at another shop, at my own expense, because they don't care enough about their customers or their lives and livelihoods to make their mistake right. Don't go the these clowns, I knew I should have done this myself or take to a small shop. read more
