Went in for a tire repair..$30.00.. Woke up the next morning to an almost flat tire..decided I would replace it with a used tire since I had new tires ordered. The gentlemen who pulled the so called repaired tire said there had not been ANY repair done to the tire. Of course they screwed me. I basically paid 30.00 for them to air up my tire. We have gone to Mavis for years even before the name change. Josh was the manager and was always fair and helpful. They are under new management presently. Recently I sent my 92 year old mother there for an oil change and to check on her battery. To make a long story short, they charged her around $600. for wiper blades, oil change, rotation and battery. This price even included coupons applied. This seems like excessive pricing to me. I want to write about kindness here regarding Mavis Tires & Brakes. Ms. Simone and Mr. Jalan are some of the finest folks I have had the pleasure of meeting in East Texas or many other places. They helped me out of an impossible situation on a Sunday near closing time when most places aren't even open. Above and beyond doesn't begin to describe the service I received. Quoted me $855 for heater hose replacement ($190ish for hose, rest for 4.5 hours of labor). I have zero mechanical knowledge. But I couldn't afford that. First red flag, Ford motor craft hose was $85. I did it myself. With no knowledge or experience and a 15 min YouTube video, I completed the job in 1 hour. No way it would take a mechanic in a mechanic shop more than an hour to complete. This may be par with most mechanic shops, but the over pricing and charging more than double for a hose is ridiculous. read more

They're located nearby and I've needed to rely on them for various repairs and check-ups over these past months. They are professional, responsive and care about the quality of their workmanship. Mavis Tires and Brakes on the Loop is definitely a business that I confidently recommend . They have fixed my tires with patches several timesheets since I seem to keep running over nails. The have also performed my last several oil changes. The work has been exceptional. My tires are going strong with no issues. I feel confident in the work that has been done.
