I got a crash course on protein supplements, very helpful advice for what to take prior to working out, and some great tips on stamina for muscle building workouts. My husband, Sean, and I have been seeing Will Max, the nutritionist who works out of Max Muscle, for nearly two months now. I feel like Will has armed both of us with a knowledge of our own bodies that we weren't aware we could possess, since neither of us is a nutritionist ourselves. But after getting used to his plan, I started to notice things. Not only did I start losing weight, but I felt so much better. No more phantom stomach cramps (something I was used to), bloating, or generally feeling rundown. After a couple of weeks, I basically stopped thinking about my stomach altogether. And while the timing and structure is challenging to get down in the beginning, just like any new routine, it becomes natural soon enough. The best (and arguably worst) thing about Will's plan is that it is self-sustainable: he doesn't have to rely on you to admit when you cheated, because he can tell; not only from his weekly evaluation, but also from your report on how you feel. You'll find yourself complaining to him about how bad you felt after eating a Lifesavers mint (okay, maybe that was just me), and he'll tell you that's because those things are all synthetic, and your body no longer knows how to process that stuff. Steve, the owner is an all around good dude! I stopped by one day to purchase a pre-workout supplement. After talking for about 20 minutes we found one to my liking wich was a product called Full Blown Extreme. After using it for less than a week i noticed i was having issues with the product due to a condition of mine. I brought it back a week later and Steve gave me a full store credit and suggested other products. I felt very satisfied with his customer service. The one thing that i noticed is that he likes to push Max Muscle products opposed to other brands. I would have to say he is very knowledgable in the Health Science department. Personally, the MM products i have tried just dont work as well for me. If you really want he will order whatever product that you seek. Overall i am completely satisfied with the way i was treated in his store and will be back in the future as long as he can order my Jack3d!!! (which i have been having no issues with). I remember when I started shopping here. I used only MRI products, which Steve (the owner) didn't supply. Steve didn't try and sell me on his stuff, or push me somewhere I didn't want to go. He simply just ordered my stuff, and gave me a better seal than on body building! Steve ended up getting me on Max Muscle products through the many free samples, stuff is high quality! Steve is an honest business man and he won't sell you krap that is going to kill you, he will get you what you need and will be open and honest on what it does. If you've ever been to any GNC, you'll notice a stark difference between the workers there and Steve at Max Muscle. For one, GNC sells you anything and everything they can without any knowledge of nutrition. Steve will tell you what you should and shouldn't buy and doesn't try to sell you the Max Muscle brand if he personally doesn't stand by it. If you're still skeptical about the product, he'll give you a free sample and only asks for praises/criticisms in return. The one time he shipped to me while I was away for college. It was quick and, for a brief moment, free because he forgot to charge me. His customer service and knowledge is something that you won't get from Bodybuilding.com or Amazon. Stopped in today to just take a look around for some supplements to go with cycling. I was there early on a Thursday morning, so no one else was around. Steve was there and had a couple calls, which he asked to call back because he had customers. I took this to mean I was about to get the hard sell, which I was not looking for. He asked if I was looking for anything, I said just browsing, and he let me be. Eventually I asked for what I was looking for (beta alanine), and Steve ended up giving me a bunch of advice and info on products he had for that, and endurance sports in general. He was giving out info, and not being pushy at all. Finally I decided to buy the thing he was suggesting, and he actually stopped me and asked if I wanted to try a demo amount instead. If I'm happy with it, come back. Why wouldn't I want to do that? So overall I had a great experience there. I will admit in retrospect it's somewhat ironic for a guy running a legal supplement store to give the first one free, but I hope to go back and feel good giving him my business. read more
