This is the best health store ever. Hands down. Heidi is a wealth of information. I grew up in the Bay Area and my parents lived there until recently. Even though we don't live in the area anymore, this is still my go-to health store. Heidi is only a phone call always gives expert and friendly advice for any and every issue. Not a personal customer of hers but my mother has been and has spent many hundred of dollars there. Because my mom isn't very fluent in English, she asked Heidi to tell me where to apply a certain gel she had purchased in order to protect against the corona virus (this was over the phone). She told me *like it was fact* that viruses live (verbatim) "in the bellybutton and under the left foot". She also went on to say that zinc can prevent and cure cancer and that doctors that prescribe chemotherapy are unnecessarily torturing their patients because they can just use zinc. Needless to say, I told my mom Heidi is a liar and a scammer that's taking advantage of her and I wanted to share this so other people don't make the mistake of putting their trust in her. I would hate for somebody to give this woman money to buy zinc thinking it's going to save someone's life. read more

Usually, when I go to a shop this crowded with stuff, I quickly get overwhelmed and lost. Not here. Health by Heidi is so impeccably organized that you can pretty easily find what you're looking for. She's got everything in here from organic shampoos to vitamins to colloidal silver to bagged fructose to laser-treated water to resveratrol and horny goat weed. And that just begins to hint at her selection. Heidi herself is loaded with information about her products and how they can help you. Some have said in other reviews that she talks WAY too much, and that might be true for those who really aren't interested in what she says--those folks who just want to buy a product and go. However, I enjoy hearing her talk about her supplements, politics, and everything else. I find her interesting to have a conversation with. Whether you agree with her or not, you've got to admit that she isn't shy about her opinions of things. One thing that may surprise you is her use of a pendulum to get answers about how a product may work for you. This could be a deal breaker for many, but this is a divination tool that she uses constantly (over the phone and in person) to help her make decisions or find answers. If you don't believe in pendulums, then this may raise your eyebrows. Needless to say, if you are a materialist or Atheist, Heidi and her store may not be your cup of tea. However, her selection and variety in terms of supplements, etc. is huge and may just win you over if you are looking for X and Whole Foods doesn't carry it. Before I begin with my experience here today, I have been shopping here for over 20 years. This store has had SO MANY items you can't get anywhere else locally. Today, well, today was different. First, there was a woman standing at the door for awhile having a conversation with the woman who was working there. No big deal. I gently opened the door, and the woman standing there acted surprised that I wanted to come in. She could have moved more inside or outside, but looked at me like I was doing something wrong by being a customer at this store. She finished up her conversation and went out the door. The woman working there snapped "Do you need any help?" And as usual I said no, I don't need very many items, I'm ok. I then went to look in another area of the store where they have the Magnesium Calm powder (and excellent supplement by the way) and there were two dogs penned inside the aisle where the supplement was. Ok, well I love dogs, but one of them walked toward me and I felt like if I socialized with it, it might try to get out or be riled up so as to disturb the quiet of the store. I was going to ask first if I could pet the dogs, but I didn't get the chance. I asked the lady about the Magnesium Calm and said that I couldn't get to that aisle and she said "Well which one do you want?" (There are several flavors and two sizes, and I wasn't sure what I wanted yet) I told her I didn't know, and she said "Oh well there's some DOWN HERE!" like I should have seen where they were (inside a cabinet.) She pulled them out and slammed them on the cabinet top. I checked the price on the one I thought I might want and it was TEN DOLLARS higher than I have ever seen Magnesium Calm before. I put it back along with the other ones under the cabinet. At this point I pretty much knew I was done, and said so. I think the lady was also done with me as she was pretty rude and short with me, She did give me Heidi's discount though for the peppermint oil. Afterwards, I decided to go check out Piazza's Grocery, and as I was getting out of my car, she happened to come outside and looked at me as if I had done something really wrong. Don't know why. We all have really bad days. I get it. I fully get it. I get it so much that I would have been willing to help out if needed - watch the store, watch the dogs, if the woman needed to take care of anything she needed. I'm going to try not to take this personally, but I can't let this go without saying something about it. Also, Some people are allergic to dogs, afraid of dogs, etc. Kind of not safe (and maybe even unsanitary) in some customer's eyes. I will still go back another day to get my essential oils and see if it feels better in there. read more

WOW! What a gem! My most awesome Chiro advised me to grab some UltraClear to clean out my system and luckily when I called, they had plenty in stock. I was even luckier to meet Heidi! The 1st thing I noticed about here was her unbelievable complexion! For her years she has the tightest most fresh skin I have ever seen on a woman. I had researched one of her products "Ultimate Radiance Rejuvenating Serum" with 10% Argireline, meant to tighten the skin - better than Botox - w/out the paralizing toxins! Which I KNEW she must be using - so I HAD to get some myself. So I mentioned to her that I was having a little unusual skin issue around my chin and she immediately referred me to some "liver cleaner". Listening to all my ailments (which are unfortunately brought on by Celiac Disease) she seemed to not be surprised or shocked by anything I told her. She simply offered all of her knowledge in the area and I ended up walking out with about 5 products in hand - (with a 20% discount) for $117! Now you can't tell me that's overpriced! As she handed me my bag, she looked me in the eye and said "you are going to get well". Ok, maybe it's a full moon, but I felt all warm and fuzzy! She was so sincere. She seems to really care and "get it". As soon as I got into my car I lathered the Ultimate Radiance Serum over my skin (which she makes herself I forgot to add). A little smelly but my face immediately tightened. And I mean it's super firm! I highly recommend this place and Heidi if you can get her. He followed me to the where I was and just stood there staring at me until I turned around to acknowledge his abrupt and rather uncomfortable presence. Usually most of the people there are pretty knowledgeable when Heidi is not there but today was the exception. *************** Heidi is great. A while back she really helped me when all my doctors were being clueless about caffeine withdrawal. She knew exactly what I needed to get better and she was the only one who was able to help me figure out what was causing my weird symptoms. Yes, she says everything is caused by too much mercury and she wants to sell her products but she is very knowledgeable about just about every ailment under the sun. She also does free phone consultations and takes her time with you despite being really busy. The latest gem she shared with me is this great liver detoxifier called Eclipse. I went in to make a $70 purchase for one item - which the guy behind the counter discounted by 20% (ostensibly). Yet just one month later, I went back to purchase the same thing and it was priced $10 higher. Though I still got the 20%, I decided to try the Internet next. Bought two bottles of the same thing via the Internet for the same price I paid for one bottle at Heidi's (and got free one day shipping). So, if you need to figure out what to buy - go here. First experience was not a good one. First of all, the store is crammed with stuff! They also use it as storage with random boxes all over the place. It is really hard to navigate around without knocking bottles over or stepping on stuff. The guy behind the counter was not very friendly...no smile or hello. Just looked at me and said "can I help you?" I had four things I was looking for. They had one. One he thought they had, but after a brief search said he was out of it. Two of the things he said he never heard of, which I thought was surprising. I was hoping "Heidi" was there since many of you seem to really like her, but I have no idea if she was. There were two women in the back sitting on chairs having what looked like a serious conversation and I didn't want to interrupt to ask if one of them was her. This store is CRAZY! I discovered it during my search for a Vitamin K cream. (Yea, it exists. It helps bruises go away faster... and something else, I forget what.) Anyway, I brought my grandma so she could pick up a few items, and my sister tagged along too. We were amazed with all the different kinds of items they carry! Unfortunately, Heidi herself was not working today when I went in, but the man that was there was very patient and as helpful as he could be. Maybe soon, my visit will coincide with Heidi's work hours and we can get the low-down on all those oils she carries. And though the prices seem a little high, I believe most of them are fair and even better when you come in on the discount days, every first and third Sunday and every Wednesday for seniors. My grandma is excited for my discovery of this store, and I think I will take her with me from now on whenever she needs some non-prescription medicine of some sort. This is probably the best stocked supplement store in the Bay Area, with some really exotic stuff that you simply won't find anywhere else save on the Web. (In fact, I stumbled upon these guys because I was looking for a funky vitamin mix out of Canada and they were only one of three stores total that supposedly had it; was thrilled to discover they were in my back yard.) They're also really knowledgable, Heidi especially (even if she is slightly nuts - besides mercury and her foot, ask her about Greg Anderson and Victor Conte), and have introduced me a few neat things like erythritol, which is about the only sugar substitute I've found that doesn't have side effects of some sort or another. Probably never would have found it otherwise. I knock em a star for losing an order of mine of that vitamin supplement, which was really annoying since I waited a month for it and finally just got it from the other guys who carried it. Bigger knock is that her prices are really somewhat outrageous - on the rare stuff I can live with it , but on some common protein mixes that you can get at GNC, selling at 50% over their prices even with the 10% always-off-for-cash and sometimes 20% discount is pretty steep. 3 stars is a bit harsh, but they don't deserve 4 given all of that. Still, as someone else put it, she's a smart lady and just make sure you know what you want when coming in the store - or you'll be several hundred dollars poorer when you walk out! read more
