A $60 plus delivery fee bouquet of flowers was ordered, from this establishment for our 85-year-old…read moremom for Mother's Day. The flowers arrived in a 3.5-inch wide vase filled with so much filler you couldn't even pull it out of the vase without cutting them. The attached picture will show the filler material in a plastic grocery bag and as you can see, it is a ridiculous amount! Our mother called to complain to the owner as was her right to do so and the owner did send out another bouquet to rectify the situation. With this being said, mom was asked several questions regarding the order and if my sister (the one who ordered) had seen pictures of the flowers? Yes, she did see pictures and it was not to my sister's satisfaction. Then the owner asked if my sister's husband had seen the pictures and how did he feel about the flowers? He wasn't happy about them either...then the owner proceeds to tell our mother that she was over exaggerating the issue in regards to just how much filler, was used. I'm completely flabbergasted at this point and in absolute disbelief, that the owner of this business, even had the audacity to speak to an 85-year-old in this manner, totally disrespectful with our Mom! Like I said before, another bouquet was delivered and it was beautiful, however, that doesn't take away from the fact the way our mom was spoken to. Mom was so upset from the tone of voice that was used and inundated owner that she was reduced to tears! I assume mom thought the owner would've been grateful for the input and she would appreciate the feedback in order to use it as constructive criticism as well as a learning tool and prevent any other customer complaints. When the shop called to get directions again the person on the other end of the phone could hear mom in the background because she was crying and she apologized for mom being upset about this mess. I asked to speak with the owner and I was told that she was gone for the day and my message and number would be passed on to the owner the following day (10 business days ago.) I have yet to receive any call and to me, that speaks volumes! So, to the owner of the business, you will never again receive one red cent from this family again (which would be quite the sum of money from 5 children and one husband) who orders flowers on multiple occasions and for multiple people. If I cared enough about you I could go on and on about previous orders, countless calls guiding incompetent employees who can't find their way out of a wet paper bag and the attention span of a fruit fly. The simplest thing to do if you care at all, about your customers and recipients is A) Above all, costs, please do make 85 years old, mom's cry and insinuate they're lying. B) Make an attempt to at least call and apologize for making said person cry!

My Grandma is the storyteller of the family. Every time we would visit, we would ask to hear…read moreabout the green shovel or the story of my uncle dancing on the table, unable to stop because the record had gotten scratched and the song wouldn't end ... So pardon me, as I tell my story, no where as well as she would. When I was younger (under age 10) we would get to help my Grandma at the store. She ran a miniature store named Wee Things. It was so much fun to have alone time with Grandma in the store. After the week of "work" she would take me to the bookstore for the book that I earned. We got to work with her and Granddad to create our own houses. I remember picking out my house (a Tudor) and deciding the color scheme (blue and brown). I remember working with Granddad, watching him build it from the kit. My Granddad was very handy with the tools. Wee Things had a beautiful stained glass window in the door. It was a rainbow with a leprechaun and pot of gold (at the end of the rainbow, of course). After the store closed, they installed the window at the house on the Lake. I wish I had a picture of the window to post, but so far I haven't been able to find one. Wee Things was under the umbrella of the Cottage on Hill, my Grandma's first store (that I know of). It was a gift shop. She expanded the property to have spaces for several stores. There was another store, Next Door, that her aunt ran that sold cooking items. The other one I remember is my uncle's Creative Carat. He was a jeweler. Other than his tools and materials, I remember that the Coke machine was in his space. It was an old-fashioned machine with bottles that you would slide out of the row after you purchased it. My Grandma loves drinking Coke from a bottle. And after we finished our Cokes we would play the "Coke Game" where we would see who would guess where it had been bottled (which was found at the bottom of the bottle). There are so many great memories of my Grandma and Granddad, I could go on forever, but I thought for my 100th review, I would share the special store and times I spent there with my incredible, amazing Grandma.
