DO NOT BUY THE REFRIGERATED DRINKS! I have come in late night and caught them turning off the refrigerator where the cokes / sodas are overnight. This results in a stale unpleasant taste in the coke. In comparison. When you go to a big corporation like Cvs or 7-11 their cokes taste so fresh and carbonated. The coke here tastes stale and improperly stored. Avoid any drinks in their fridge and go somewhere else. And they even charge full price for it. This is why mom and pop places suck will not come back for soda here read more

Their delivery websites (Postmates, Doordash, etc.) show a very wide range of options in their store. But those websites are not at all representative of what Max's actually has available. About half the times I've ordered from Max's, I've gotten a "replacement", and it was ALWAYS cheaper than what I'd ordered and paid for. read more

I frequent this liquor store all the time I am a regular customer. I like going there cause I don't like the big box stores. When I go here at night. Usually I buy wine or soda or beer and I pay my tab and the clerk always round my tab downward, so I'd lose some money. I would really like to pay the total and get my exact change, but I never do. I like the clerks here but exact change is what I should get back not less. I know it's pennies or even up to a dollar but I'm losing money. read more

The guy who works there is pretty rude. I tried to buy a lottery ticket with a large bill and he flat out said no. He didn't say he didn't have change or asked me to buy something else. I would have been happy to pick up a few snacks if he just needed to make change but he just came off as a complete asshole. I ended walking down the street to the other liquor store. read more

This place is conveniently located at San Pablo and Solano and has short term parking in front so there are usually spaces. The proprietors are very friendly, which is why I prefer this place to other small stores in the area. It's clean and has a pretty good wine selection. I most often go there when I don't want to deal with the full-on grocery store experience - half and half, bottle of wine, snacks. I bought milk with an pull date 4 days away. When I used it the next morning it turns out the milk was sour. When I went to return the milk the same morning, they clerk refused to issue a refund saying that it was not their fault it was bad.
