This is a slot canyon can be reach by 4x4 vehicle or by foot. I am not recommend the visit by foot…read moreon the trail. It is almost 9 miles walk. It not easy to walk on sandy road. It more effort. Joining the tour with access vehicles is highly recommended. It faster and you also can visit one more place like white wave which close it it. Peekaboo Slot Canyon is link by several slots. The slot canyon is cool and water is not needed while you in the canyon by vehicle. The trail is about 1miles. It is easy access. The canyon slot get narrow and have good smooth rock in the mixed. The multi color rock face make it photo perfect. I took several spider man climb between the two rock narrow face. Love it. The sunlight has different deflection on the canyon slot wall face. It red wall smooth surfaces are beautiful. Before enter the slot canyon, there is a path on the right take you to the tower of stone. It was beautiful.

Today was the first of (6) 5K Races I've challenged myself to complete this year. The "DogTown…read moreRace" held in Washington, Utah, was well attended and the weather, although a bit chilly made for a great event. The race was well organized and the staff were great. Light snacks, water and protein bars were available to runners after the race, as well as tote bags. If you're looking for a 5K race you might want to consider attending a "DogTown Race,"which, are held throughout the year. Incidentally, I ended up taking first place in my age category and was awarded a Gold medal.

So deep in the back of the park, seems excessive to me. With any other park, the pb courts would be no more than a two minute WALK from the park entrance. Anyway, I visited here from out-of-state seeking a challenge, but the numerous people here were just beginners, so I couldn't get the challenge I'd sought. Friendly people, nonetheless. I played singles full-court with a nice man at least. And the park's name is an unnecessary mouthful. Could just be called Sullivan Park.

Exploring Utah over the past 4-5 years has changed me - I have developed such a deep appreciation for the deserts and canyon lands that I used to vehemently dislike thanks to the Beehive State! Our 45th state is packed full of burnt orange cliffs and slot canyons, deep green rivers, towering multicolored mountains and hoodoos, unlimited arches and natural bridges, well preserved dinosaur footprints, and an insane amount of petroglyphs and pictographs dating back many thousands of years. I thoroughly enjoyed combing through my Utah photo collection from the past several years and I hope my pics will give you a sense of the vast land of adventure this state holds! When my son got out of the marines, he announced he was moving to Salt Lake City to go to college with his marine "brothers" - at the time I was absolutely devastated bc I thought he'd always live with me forever until the end of days (as I'm sure all mothers do LOL) - but he went off to make a life for himself with his newfound military bros (how dare he??!!!) His decision ended up being such a wonderful turn of events in all our lives - not only did it open up a whole new world of outdoor adventures and American history to explore, but it also brought so many wonderful people into our lives and given us a whole new branch of our family!! His military bros are the most fantastic people and their families have all become part of our family! The outdoor activities and wildlife are unparalleled- and the people are the kindest I've ever encountered. My son has utterly thrived in Utah and excelled at "The U" in his engineering major. This state will forever hold a special place in my heart! It's a hidden gem and I hope it stays that way - but I don't think it will bc apparently it's one of the fastest growing state in the US waaaa!! So I highly recommend visiting - but also please don't so it won't change LOL!!

Just Go (#10) We've…read morevisited the Great State of Utah many times over the years. This is an updated review. We love Utah because they have some of the most beautiful National Parks, which I mentioned extensively in my original review. We even revisited Bryce Canyon during Covid year (2020)... it was a great place to social distance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Aside from these iconic national parks we also found some national monuments, landmarks and small towns to visit including Virgin Town. If passing by don't forget to stop at the Buffalo Trading Company and try their awesome buffalo burgers... and did you know that there is a real UP House located in the southwestern City of Herriman? You won't find Carl, Ellie and Russell here, though. This house isn't cartoon. Old Irontown (Cedar City) - located in the southern part of Utah Old Irontown is said to be the very first ghost town in Utah. What we found was an off-the-beaten trail that led to the historical part of Old Irontown and a charcoal kiln was one of the landmarks in the ghost town... no ghosts, just a bunch of fire ants! Yikes! Park City Historic Main Street - I was charmed by this popular historic mountain town. Lots of shops and restaurants, bars and breweries, entertainment, galleries, and nearby hotel and lodging. It was once a silver town and hosted the Winter Olympics in 2002. Reminded me of Virginia City in NV. Bonneville Salt Flats (Wendover) - this was cool! We drove here in 2020... can't practice anymore social distancing than being here at the Salt Flats. We drove a mile out from the west rest stop area and checked out this densely packed salt bed. I had no idea that Southern Utah was once a dinosaur stomping ground (no pun intended) and that inside the St George Dinosaur Discovery Site @ Johnson Farm is the original intact track surface. A cute park with plenty of grass right next to the community center and across from an art…read morebuilding. It's decorated for Christmas right now with a big, beautiful tree that lights up at night. I felt very calm and relaxed here. The only downside was that the park is right next to a main road, so not the safest for small children and maybe not the most quiet park. Still so beautiful.

It's perfect for spending time with family, photoshoot, sitting and enjoy the views or just take a walk. I usually go here for a walk in the morning because it has a great path/trail, nice large pond with a lot of ducks, geese and swans. There are also a playground for kids, tables for picnic, and restrooms as well. I always have a great time with my family here at this park.

You can use your national park pass to avoid the fee here. You just have to display it on your…read moredash. Maps took us like 2 miles north, then back track to the tunnel to get in. Not sure if that was the best way or not. The parking lot is not huge, and you can't park in the designated camping area spots. There are plenty of picnic tables, probably more than parking spaces. There are at least 20 tables there. There are a few trails to choose from. Very close the parking and campsites is a short 1/4 hike (or shorter) to the dinosaur prints. There is a hike in the other direction to the mini waterfall and pond. Probably about a mile or a little over a mile (1direction). We also found an old almost petrified bristlecone tree (that was neat). We got lucky with the weather for Dec, it was probably about 60 degrees and very nice. I saw that in the summer it can be over 110 so I am glad that we got the nice weather. The red /orange scenery is spectacular and representative of the area, like it is at zion, bryce, snow canyon, pioneer park, etc. We enjoyed a picnic lunch there, and we had a blue bird, a scrub jay, come join us and beg for food. The trailhead is located at the campground, which is about 5 miles down the paved road. GPS Coordinates: 37.224794, -113.406300 It is $5 to park your car here in the parking lot, follow directions to the trail. It is a beautiful and easy hike - until the very end. it meanders along a path - then at the end you need to climb some pretty big rocks to see the payoff of the beautiful canyon. We loved this hike. (but were thrown off by the Yelp directions that sent us in an alternate direction.

Confluence Park is an impressive site with a bit of local history. There is a hiking/walking trail…read moreand a few historical stops to visit along the way. If you're more of a "sit and watch the sunset" type, you are in luck. There's a bench overlooking the canyon below and you can sit and watch the sky change colors.

On my way to Washington County I looked up Quail Creek for things to do. I found on the state park…read morewebsite that Dig offered kayak rentals so I decided to give it a try. The price was great for a short rental. Shortly after reserving my time on the Dig Paddlesports website I received a call about the reservation. Originally booked for an AM rental, the associate let me know of the best time to be out on the water that day was mid morning and offered to move my time if I wanted. It was a nice to have insights from a local professional. On the day of the rental I met the owner Bill and learned more about his business and his passion for outdoor adventures. He was friendly and personable which was helpful for someone passing through. I went out on the water and had a great time. The natural beauty of Southern Utah combined with support from DIG made may trip eventful. I would recommend to stop by Quail Creek state park and ask Dig about different rental options, you will not regret looking into this place.

When we arrived there was no one at the booth. We used their radio on the counter to call for them…read morebut no one responded. We waited a full ten minutes before walking down to the water to look for someone and finally found two employees, evidently they did not hear the radio with them. They were not ready for our reservation of 3 so we had to wait for them to get a paddle board ready. One of the oars we had was broken and kept coming apart. They were very aloof/quiet and did not explain rules, where to go, how to use the boards, etc. We kind of just sat there until one of them said we could go. Our reservation was at 12 and we did not get onto the water until 12:30. We came back to the booth halfway through our reservation to get water and there were no employees around, so we just left our paddle boards on the shore. They did let us be late back because they said they "didn't care" so we stayed out until 4:20. The new employee on shift was more friendly and took our paddle boards for us. The lake itself was beautiful and there was plenty to see, but the business wasn't very professional.
