As a surprise, my husband wanted to let me get my hair done in the fun colors that i couldn't get done on my own. He called around and, as the universe dictated, Maxwell Salon was the first to pick up the phone. He made a consult appointment with Preston. She took time to listen to what I wanted and to talk about how we could get that to happen and what we couldn't make happen. She looked at pictures, and even took time to look at my social media after the appointment to get to know me. We bonded pretty instantly (for a variety of reasons...yes I hear you universe) and when my appointment came 2 weeks later, I could not have felt more a part of the gang. I was there for 5 hours, but it was SO worth it. She is AMAZING at what she does. I will continue to be one who "goes here". She's priced perfectly and her skill is beyond anything I could have dreamed. I was supposed to go back the next day for more pics but, unfortunately, I've been in the hospital for a week since the day after I got my hair done. I can't wait to go back for a touch up and to continue to see her for a LONG time to come. Alicia was awesomely inviting and I got to see her fierce protective nature of her employees. I move around a lot and thus I don't get my hair cut very often. However, I was desperate to get a hair cut because of an interview the next day. I read the reviews at Maxwells and thought why not. I called and thankfully they had an opening. My stylist was Katie. She was very sweet. She had great hair and she was very engaging. She took her time with my hair. Asked me what I wanted and told me what she was going to do before chopping. I loved that she asked for my advice instead of acting like she knew what I wanted. This is the first time I had short hair in long while and was very reluctant but Katie saw my vision and gave me exactly what I wanted. When I was done my husband was in awed. He kept telling me how pretty I was and that I looked liked I was 18 again and looked like how he remembered me in college. I will only go to this salon. I absolutely do not like my hair cut. I have huge anxiety at even the thought of getting a hair cut-I compare it to a dentist visit! That is why I chose Alicia and her staff at Maxwell-They always work with me and keep me calm. Preston is my go to hair cut girl-she always cuts exactly want and how I want it to style. I have used the same shampoo for the past fifteen years. Last year Preston introduced me to a new shampoo that she felt would work better for my grey hair, it was starting to yellow in spots. I was apprehensive, because I was very loyal to the shampoo I had been using, but I am so HAPPY I listened-Kevin Murphy-Blonde Angel Shampoo-is amazing-my hair is manageable and absolutely Shines- I went from yellowing grey hair and having to wash it everyday-Now with the Kevin Murphy shampoo-I wash my hair every third day-what a difference-So happy I listened to Preston. I had been coloring my hair with black box dye for months, but was ready for a change and to go blonde again. I had done this before years ago but had gone to Hair Masters in Port Orchard, which had turned out disastrous. I Googled for salons in the area and came across Maxwell, with all these great reviews! I made an appointment with Abreanna, and she has been fantastic. She took about 5 or so inches off and did a full highlight on my hair so it wouldn't be so damaged. I've done two sessions of full highlighting and my hair is definitely lighter (not done yet though) and still has it's integrity and doesn't feel damaged. Abreanna has 6 years of experience and has done the box black to blonde on people before, so I definitely trust that she knows what she's doing and I have not been disappointed! Excellent salon! I have been going here since I first discovered them in 2018. They practically restored life into my hair :D The stylists are talented, experienced, friendly, and love to have a great time at work! Alicia Maxwell is a hard-working, dedicated owner and does everything to ensure things run smoothly. Every time I walk out after an appointment, my hair looks and feels ridiculously amazing. The excellent service and friendly vibes makes me want to continue coming back here as a client recurrently. Did I mention they have a VIP membership? Gives you product discounts, free hair treatment add-on, and a glass of wine or sparkling water! Gotta love it! I see Tiffany and she is simply amazing! She gives you exactly what you ask for and knows how to cut your hair to fit your face shape. I trust her when it comes to hair and that says alot....it is hard to find a someone who knows what they are doing, Tiffany never cut's more then you ask, she is great at understanding the little details. She is a master at coloring too! I asked her to color my hair and told her I had no clue what I wanted since at that point I had not colored my hair in more than 15 yrs, she suggested Ombre...I trust her so I said go for it . WOW! I went to Gene Juarez (GJ) since 1995. I have stayed loyal to the stylists who worked with my hair, until they moved on. Preston A. was the fifth stylist. Let me tell you, my hair is extremely curly, at times can be a frizzy storm to behold. It takes a unique, patient & skilled stylist to cut and style such hair. Preston has the skill, creativity & confidence working with my hair. When I found out she no longer worked at GJ, I was determine to find her. Thanks to the wonders of social media, Yelp in particular I found Preston again through someone whom did a GJ review. At Maxwell, she is right across the street from Kitsap Mall. Dani is amazing. I have lived all over the U.S. and I have never had such an awesome hair salon experience, thanks to Dani. Every time I have my hair done, I get a ton of compliments. People I don't even know will come up and ask me where I get my hair done and that means A LOT! Dani has the expertise in EVERYTHING hair. I get my hair highlighted, colored, cut and it's perfection every time. Best of all, she is super sweet and really listens to what you ask for, and sincerely cares about the person not just the customer. She is a big city girl in a small town, but delivers the best. It's so hard to find a really good salon that gives you the hairstyle you want. I've been to many different places all over the country and I've never been as pleased as I am with Maxwell Salon. I have gotten shorter cuts, extensions, and highlights all of which I was super happy with. Alicia has always done an amazing job! I recently got my first facial from there and it was so wonderful. They explained what products would be good for my skin type (not just products that they sell at their store). It was so relaxing and my skin looked like it was glowing afterwards. This review is for Mikela. My gal pal and I wanted to get out and get our hair done. She needed a color, foil and cut and I needed a cut. This was our first time at Maxwell Salon and we both saw Mikela. She is awesome! My friends color was AMAZING! The highlights were PERFECT! And her cut was so cute! And my cut is FANTASTIC! I brought in two pictures of what I had in mind, she told me I had the hair type that could actually look like the picture and it does! She cut it so PERFECTLY, I love it. I have always been really picky about my hair and who touches it. I met Kristen year's ago working at another salon & knew after she was done with my hair, I had found THE ONE(the stylist I needed..for the rest of my life) after finding out she was moving to Maxwell Salon, I knew I had to follow her there, even if it made my drive to see her much longer! I was so bummed when I couldn't find Preston at a another salon and after a couple of "slobs" sloppy long bob's I just happened to find a picture of her at Maxwell!!! Oh my gosh this brought immediate relief to a very nervous person, Preston had originally cut my almost waist length hair to the most fabulous Bob ever! But not only can she cut a fierce Bob, she was very kind and patient & caring( I suffer from extreme anxiety and PTSD) so she let me express myself allowed me to break down ,feel vulnerable, but leave feeling fabulous and valued! I had a hairdresser for a few years but always felt that she was not listening to me. I wanted to grow my hair out, but in the three years I was seeing her my hair just kept getting shorter! Alicia has been my stylist for many years now and has always done a fantastic job with my hair. She is great at listening to what I want done (and she remembers my likes/dislikes so I don't have to repeat myself every visit as I've experienced at other salons). Jessie cut my hair. She's so sweet and I love the way she told me what she was doing the whole time she was cutting my hair. I haven't had a haircut that I liked in a long time but I walked out happy this time. The only thing I don't like are my bangs but I asked for them so that's my fault.
