We went to check it out before the family outdoor movie the town hosts across the street. The owner, Amy is very welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable about what she does. I went with my godchildren and they enjoyed exploring the store and the kids room to learn more about bees. The store itself is very inviting and she isn't pushy about buying her products. She has a lot of unique stuff handmade from bees including lip balm, Christmas decorations, soaps, etc. My god children enjoyed getting the free honey sticks of different flavors which is definitely a healthier alternative to refined sugar in candy sticks you see at other museums and candy shops. Amy also does school workshops and can be a great educational presenter to invite if you are a teacher or want her to visit your children's school. She also hosts small groups onsite as well.

Their website said that they would be in Homer, NY on Saturdays so I planned on going there as my friend was not available the other days. I called before we left because it is quite a distance from where we live. However, there was no answer. So we drove to Homer just to find out they were not there. I called again and this time the young man answered and apologized saying that he hadn't updated his website in some time and that he was actually in Aurora, NY. So we drove from Homer to Aurora!! Ended up buying some honey and candles. He was very nice but I asked him to please update all his social media because there were inaccuracies and misalignment across the board. Luckily the phone number was his cell phone and remained the same.

I've never eaten a honeycomb before, and don't eat much honey in general. But the really friendly Living Roots clerk explained to us how Wixson's bees actually construct the honeycomb right inside of the container you purchase it in. So we gave it a go. When we got home, before I even noticed, my whole family dug right into it, and ate like a quarter of the honeycomb brick immediately!! I was all, "WHOA, SLOW YOUR ROLL! GIVE ME THAT." As the proprietor of the venture, I had to see what all the fuss was about. I took a spoonful of honeycomb and ... YUP, WHOA, A BITE OF BLISS. We have been buying from Wood-Bee Farm for many years. I'm always pleased with the quality and taste of their product. Summer Delight was our choice this time.  Google the address and look carefully for a rather small sign next to the road that says "Local Honey". Usually, just barking dogs greet us from a distance.
