Attempted to stop in for donuts on a Sunday afternoon around 4pm. Disappointed to learn they had sold out about an hour earlier. As this is the busy season it's understandable. I did not want to miss out on the donuts again so we made sure to visit early on Saturday. We were lucky to get a spot in the parking lot. The two lots fill up quickly and some patrons had to park far down along the road. As it's October and everyone wants to experience the wonderful fall offerings Schutt's has available be prepared for a busy environment with people everywhere. Despite the crowds Schutt's staff does an amazing job keeping the store stocked and lines moving. As the weather is unseasonably warm, we didn't want to do U Pick apples so we went into the store to select a few varieties. As I walked up to the honeycrisp bin, an employee started bringing out additional apples. The apples were huge and looked perfect! Honeycrisp were considered premium apples at $2.99 a lb. They also offer a large selection of non-premium at $1.99 a lb. Be sure to try the cider sample of the day (honeycrisp) and grab a bottle from the cooler to go with your donuts! We ordered donuts and sat outside to eat them. Be aware seating is limited. The glazed donuts were not very well glazed, only getting a taste of glaze as we ate towards the middle. Otherwise everything was great and it made for a fun outing. Apples, cider, and 6 donuts cost us a little over $20 which is a great value for the quality of the offerings! While we didn't do U Pick, we did walk across the road to check out the photo opportunities available. There are several cute displays to get in some fun fall photos. read more

This is nice little place to hang out with family. There are two different parking areas. We parked at the main store. There is parking near the orchard. The apple rows that allow picking were clearly marked. The mill offers wagon rides, straw bail swings, and plenty of yard games. Inside the shop there is a tasting room and a viewing area. The fried cakes are delicious. All staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. read more

Really cool little place. They have apples that you can pick across the street, or a huge variety of apples in the store that you can pick and choose from. The store also has baked goods, apple frost (think apple soft serve ice cream) in the summer, and tons of cool nicknacks. A lot to look at. They also have a cidery in the back with some hard cider of their own, as well as cider from other local cideries. Definitely worth a stop! read more

I went to the craft sale there 11/15/25. Parking was a nightmare. I had to park far away on the busy street. I went in and bought some apple cider and snack mix. Both were horrible. The apple cider tasted like mold. The snack mix tasted mildewy too like it was bad. What a waste of money. Also it was unbearably crowded. The cashier wasn't very friendly either. I've visited Schutt's for almost 40 years. The best crispy delicious apples to buy & take home. This week I purchased a home made rhubarb-stŕawberry pie, absolutely worth the money. The strawberry / rhubarb cider is so refreshing and the fried cake is great! The cider donuts are pretty good! I go all over the northeast looking for the best AC donuts! These did not disappoint. My dad ordered a peach pie from here to pick up in a couple days. Looking forward to that. The apples are outstanding and the candy and spices are great! So is the tea (loose leaf and bag)! We visited today and had a great time picking apples. It's a good no frills, reasonably priced place to pick apples. Afterwards, highly recommend stopping by their shop for apple cider, donuts, or even their donut ice cream sandwich. I've been here a few times why no review? Oy! Let's change that! Well you have a few choices you can go into the store and buy apples, cider, yes those fry cakes (try one at least!)and more. They have hard cider! Or you can go thru the orchard and pick your own. Due to Covid you must wear a mask and I am sure on weekends it's gotta be crazy so be aware! I don't doubt they have to regulate patrons. My only minor complaint is if you get some apples inside you need to take off a twist tie and write it on yourself that's fine; awesome! The thing is only having one of these twist tie postings things available is a mess and not having enough pens. Sounds silly but if you don't remember what you are getting it might be annoying if you are sharing your spoils. It's a family owned place and the staff is lovely and helpful. So if you are not sure feel free to ask about the apples and etc. They all kinds of local food stuffs, hard cider, pumpkins and etc. They have a parking lot so no worries on parking. Their DONUTS are still AMAZING but also they have so so many cute gifts and fun foods in their pretty large store. This is an excellent place to check out if you want to pick up something unique or fun to gift. Theres tons of home decor, some artist's work, and lots of things to eat/drink like tea, cookies, jams and more. They also carry a lot of local Rochester brands like kiss me cookies, the chai guy, cookies from Leo's bakery, and others. I didn't realize how much they have! This store is epic. Are you coming here and buy Honeycrisp apples for my horse? I come in every week there is an older gentleman. He usually is working the front end as a cashier. He made a comment that I buy Honeycrisp apples for my horse and not the juice apples I told him well. She only eats the Honeycrisp. She only likes Honeycrisp Proceeded to say that oh well she spoiled and even if she is, it's my choice what I give her. The one time I came in he toasted My card back to me. proceeded to tie the bag shot, which I did not ask him to do then he untied it and toss the apples to me in the bag. He made a comment to the other girl and she buys them for her horse. There's no difference between me buying them for her or people who buy them for their children. And it doesn't just stop with apples and donuts- from the apple cider to the homemade treats, breads and desserts there is something for everyone to enjoy. You can pick other apples that you like in their store. It's pretty busy there on a weekend. Also have a cider flight too. I didn't try but it was poppin back there. This business was only apples and cider as far as I remember as a child. Of course that was over 60 years ago! It was a small cider mill with fresh clear cider that was delicious! They used to give you a small sample before you purchased the cider then they filled your glass returnable bottle. Good old days. Now the cider is still delicious with apples to buy or ship. They have shelves of candy, snacks, spices, teas, preserves and gift items. They also have fresh made donuts that are yummy and their own fudge. Nothing makes me happier visiting upstate NY and going to an apple farm. This particular one was busy on an early Saturday morning! Once you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a huge assortment of baked goods, various maple syrups, and barrels of delicious looking apples. They also have a selection of Pittsford dairy ice creams near the back. But our main goal was their fried cakes! We bought one of each- glazed, cinnamon, and plain. My favorite was easily the glazed one. Each fried cake was dense and pillowy at the same time. Not overly sweet, but just enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. The apple cider donuts were delicious - I've only ever had cinnamon sugared, not glazed, but the glazed was great. We enjoyed the hard cider tasting available. I also picked up some apples, maple sugar candies, honey sticks, jerky... basically all of the fall things that I would normally have when I still lived in upstate NY that I can't get in Charleston now. First time visit and we tried their new U-Pick Flowers. It was my first time and it was a fun activity. The staff were nice, price affordable, and I liked that the field was close by with easy access. The marigolds were bountiful! I think there will be lots of beautiful sunflowers of various colors, but right now it is a little early. I didn't get to try many goodies but looking in their shop was fun. read more
