The restaurant atmosphere is definitely tacky and fails miserably at imitating a chic Chinese restaurant, yet not ghetto enough to represent an authentic street Chinese experience. The utensils given were wooden, the table cloths were plastic and the towelettes were plastic packaged; definitely not environmentally sensitive. The food that was provided was definitely subpar even given the preset meals by the tours. The flavours were bland, cheap and for one dish (which I would refer to as "regurgitated spam") was absolutely a grotesque experience to swallow. The fact there are black flies zooming around the restaurant is absolutely disgusting, some even landing on the food left isolated on the table next to us. The wait staff were decent enough to provide us with tea and extra rice when we asked for it because our tables seated a large group. However, once the food is served by them, good luck. They have NOT ONCE checked in on us to see if we needed anything and clear dishes (by the way the restaurant is empty...). This wouldn't be as infuriating but when I went up with the pot to ask for more tea when no staff came by for five minutes, the cashier whom I believe is the owner did not even look up, rolled her eyes and rudely say "don't ask me, go ask someone inside" and rudely waved me off. As a Chinese individual myself, please spare yourselves of this poor excuse of a Chinese restaurant establishment and find an alternative elsewhere. If I had it my way, I would never have paid for this crap experience and take my business to the 7-Eleven next door. However, if you're looking to waste your money on low-quality Chinese food (if we can even call the substance they serve that) and ghastly service, then this is the spot for you!

All the dishes there taste worse than those cheap Chinese all you can eat buffets. I don't think the chefs are even Chinese because it tasted so westernized and the tea they provided was watery. Eww. If you want some good Chinese food in Canada, don't come here but if you come with a tour, then expect this.

We had Tom Ka Gai, Chicken Panang, and a satay appetizer and they were all perfect. The owner saw to our every need, and we could tell he was very focused on quality. We also had a remarkable dessert -- can't recall the name but WOW -- the owner said it would be excellent and it was!

However, a reputable source who lives in Whistler said they had eaten several meals there that were not that great. I decided to chance it and order takeout. I got the Thai laksa curry noodles, made vegan by just removing the chicken. I clarified to make sure there was no egg in the noodles. I got 2 out of 5 star spicy. I also ordered the mango sticky rice for dessert, which is vegan by default. Had to call to place the order, and the first time I called it went to voicemail so I waited a few minutes and called back. Food was ready in 15 minutes, and it was still hot and honestly quite tasty. The laksa was well flavored and spiced, it wasn't bland but I'd probably get 3 stars next time. It's simple, noodles, sauce, onions, and the tofu. Tofu was cooked well, but it was a lot of noodles and the noodles didn't really hold the sauce well so sometimes a mouthful of noodles didn't have a ton of sauce/flavors. Mango sticky rice was very tasty. I would definitely get it again. I might get the laksa again, but I'd like to try more things and see how they are.
