Purple Panda is a nice, new addition to Whistler's selection of restaurants for those looking for something a bit more unique - it's one of the few (if not only) fusion, Asian restaurants in town. Located in the Upper Village, it's a bit of a hidden gem. The restaurant is small and doesn't have a lot of seating inside, but don't let that deter you from visiting - the food and service was spectacular. I got the Royal duck curry and it was full of flavour. The staff warned us that the food is quite spicy, so if your tolerance for spicy food is low, I'd suggest getting something on the very low end of the spicy scale.

    Small portion

Tiniest portion I've ever seen for 26 dollars. I am outraged to be honest. We ordered take out and the sir that greeted us would not let us sit inside at a empty bar while our food was being made the hospitality was not good and I am disappointed with this food portion for the price I paid. I could you not there's 5 pieces of orange chicken in here and for 26 dollars. It taste like chicken nuggets that they just put some orange chicken sauce on it. I will never be eating here again to say the least

Wonton Soup, Waygu Beef Dumplings and Imperial Love Buzz from Blackcomb Liquors across the street.

Restaurant was empty but did not accommodate our group of 12. They saw we have 5 kids in our group. They're not accommodating.

Hands down the best food we had in Whistler. We wish we would have eaten there sooner so we could go again.

It is highly rated and I can see why! Each of the dishes had very authentic flavours and larger in portion. My favourites is the Pad Thai and the Beef Massaman Curry. The Pad Thai may be the best one I have yet! Pork Belly Pad Gra Pow would probably has been better with the traditional ground pork as we felt the pork belly was in the drier side, but it had really great flavour and fantastic with lots of rice! Space is quite limited in the restaurant so I would recommend booking early as this restaurant will get more and more popular.

It is in some sort of camp site where if you need a hot shower you can take one before or after dinner. On to the food, the food tasted great and had all the authentic Thai flavors. The chicken wings were surprisingly tasty and had to order another batch. Inside there are only a few tables so if you plan to eat there, highly recommend making reservations. Otherwise it seems like Togo orders is the way to go. The staff were very friendly and would highly recommend. Will certainly be back the next time we are in whistler.

Thai gone high end--in the best possible way!…read more We've visited a few times and have always had excellent, friendly service and never a bad dish. On our most recent visit, our daughter, who has Celiac disease, joined us along with our granddaughter. The staff was extremely accommodating to both and took particular care to assure our daughter that there would be no cross-contamination with the gluten-free options they could prepare for her. We really appreciated the attention they gave to making sure she could dine safely. And then there's the food. I don't even normally like Pad Thai, but theirs will be on my must-order list when we return. So many versions I've tried are overly sweet and almost ketchup-like. This was completely different--perfectly balanced, flavorful and not a hint of that ketchup taste. The chicken satay was perfectly cooked and tender, and I especially liked that the peanut sauce had a lighter, thinner consistency rather than tasting like straight peanut butter. We also had the Pad Pak vegetables. I don't particularly like vegetables but know I have to eat them--and whatever they do to these actually makes me want to eat them! They were delicious. The green curry sablefish was my husband's favorite and another standout. We really can't say enough good things about this place. Excellent food, thoughtful service and a more elevated take on Thai cuisine. An easy 5 stars for us, and we'll definitely be back - as will our daughter the next time she visits!

Asian food in Whistler isn't always the best, but Mekong did a great job serving authentic and elevated Thai food. I later learned that Mekong is of the same family of Vancouver's Maenam and Sainam - explains the top notch quality. However, outside of the shoulder season Prix fixe menus, the pricing is on the higher side of things. No surprises for Whistler. I don't know if I'd come back if not for the special menu. Cocktails were decent but were definitely weaker. Mochi donut for dessert was the only negative note, and the only thing we didn't finish on the menu.

They were out of a few things - no more oatmeal and only one serving of matcha left when we all wanted matcha, but the alternatives that we went with were still appealing, so it wasn't a big deal. The one matcha went to my mom, and it seemed like she got the scraps of it because it looked and tasted pretty watery. I got a chai latte which was pretty good but a little grainy. The food on the other hand was really good. I got the buckwheat pancakes and tried some of the smoothie bowl. The pancakes were hearty and fluffy, topped with a delicious berry chia jam and cashew cream. The plate came with 3 small-ish pancakes which was a satisfying portion that wasn't too much. We were also asked if we wanted maple syrup with the pancakes, but I ended up not needing to add any because the jam and cream were enough. Maple syrup is $2 for a small cup so I would recommend skipping it unless you really want something sweeter. The jam and cream are just modestly sweet which was perfect for me. The blueberry smoothie bowl was also delicious and came with lots of toppings - their granola had a delightful texture. It was a bit of a wait for food, so ordering the breakfast plates is probably not the best option if you're in a hurry, but they have ready-to-eat stuff available if you do want something quick, and the drinks didn't take long. I would be interested in coming back to try more of the food menu if I were in Whistler again.

We parked on a side street nearby and snagged one of the few open tables - it was pretty busy the entire time we were there (on a Thursday ~2pm), with both small and larger groups coming in and out. Service was speedy and polite. FOOD // We got the grilled chicken pho and shrimp spring rolls. Both were yummy and satisfying after our hike - no complaints! Prices felt reasonable, considering the food quality and scarcity of other Vietnamese food options in the area. We'd definitely consider coming back here the next time we're in the area.

It was not tofu, but some sort of salty meat substitute that did not taste anything like tofu. The only other ingredients in the salad rolls are shredded iceberg lettuce and vermicelli noodles. For $13.50, I would expect the rolls to contain some sort of herbs (basil and/or cilantro) and be overall higher quality. The shrimp was also unseasoned and overall the rolls were flavorless. Maybe the other food here is better, but the spring rolls are not worth getting.
