Honestly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! It's like the staff here is non-existent! You stand at the snack bar waiting for someone to help you and scan your ticket. Then, inside the theater, the leather is ripped out of the seats, everything is sticky and dirty, and it's like no one is doing their job to keep facilities clean or want people to come back. Plus on top of that, you hear the other movies playing while the movie you're watching is rolling! Went to see a movie with one of my kids. There's no one there to greet you or check your ticket. I thought that was strange. If you get snacks that's where they check your ticket. The prices are on par with most theaters. They have plenty to choose from like nachos, hotdogs, giant pretzels, candy, etc. They have the soda machine that has a lot of different flavors. Honestly, that was my highlight. The seats aren't the reclining kind. The seats were worn. The plus side was the sound. Great sound system. A random staffer told us to enjoy our movie while we were walking to our movie. I appreciated that. Overall, I'll still drive to Pleasant Hill to see a movie. I like Maya cinemas. Seating is comfortable and the popcorn is pretty good. I got a large popcorn & large icee for $17. I was asked for my rewards number, the price stayed the same. I thought MayaMas members received 15% off. Oh well. We sat in theater 5. They could use more insulation in the walls. We could hear the adjacent theater's showing. This is the most ghetto movie theater I've ever been to. You can't even buy tickets at the ticket booth--you have to go to the food counter. When you get there, there are barely any snacks. No candy, no real selection, just dry popcorn and a few slushies. Everything else was sold out. Oh and be prepared for nasty bathrooms. I took my son to see the new Toy Story movie, and the experience only got worse. The seats were broken, kids were running around being loud and throwing popcorn, and the theater smelled bad. I ended up walking out and asking for a refund. The employee asked why, so I explained everything. Then she asked me again what the reason was, like I hadn't just told her. We live closer to AMC theaters in Brentwood, but we much prefer going to Maya. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, often suggesting ways to save money on our larger snack purchases. We love earning rewards on every ticket and concession buy--on our last visit, we saved $5 on popcorn and snacks! The theater seats are also very comfortable, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. Unlike the AMC in Brentwood, we've never encountered rude concession workers or snooty patrons at Maya. We also appreciate that we're not herded like cattle into crowded & oversized theaters. The environment feels more relaxed and customer-focused. One of our favorite things is that the employees always thank us as we leave and never rush us out, even when we stay to watch the full credits. I took my family to see a 3 pm show on Saturday and I wanted to use my free medium popcorn. I did not know how to use it on my Maya app. Well the only worker at the concession did not know either. I said ok I'll purchase the large popcorn and water. I did not know how to use the app for the tickets also. He told me save your receipt and ask when the movie is over. Movie over and the I saw the manager and asked how to. Reddit my app for rewards. He said ask the cashier! The theatre is convenient and lots of good parking. The candies they had to pick from were very few. Also it was hot as hell in the theater. The seats are old with worn down leather. And worst of all halfway through the movie it smelled like dirty baby diapers! I thought maybe someone in our theater had an accident but my daughter and her friend who watched a completely different movie in a whole different room said they had the smell too the second half of the movie. So much was bad! No heat - we sat for 2+ hours in a frigid theater. The movie started and was already 5 minutes in and we missed the first part of the movie. The movie glitched at least 20 times. My sister and I went to view a special concert screening of #RUNSEOKJIN and when we got there they just directed us to the theater. After the start time passed, there were no other people and it never started. We went to ask staff what happened and they confirmed that it was cancelled. Why weren't we told that before being seated?! There would have been time to go another location to see it. They apologized and said that we SHOULD get a refund. Well...almost 2 weeks later we have yet to see that refund plus they've never returned our calls. These tickets were $55 because it was a special event! This top rating is to give Marisa, one of the managers, a shout-out for her can-do attitude. We were concerned about the looming expiration date on a promotional gift card -- really didn't want to see a mediocre movie just for the sake of using up the balance on the card -- but Marisa bailed us out by extending the deadline. No pushback, no worries. As for complaints I've read on Yelp about the general condition of the theaters, I haven't seen any problems whatsoever. In fact, employees always show up before before the credits have finished rolling to clean up. If some floors are sticky/dirty, guess who made them that way? And the seats are just fine -- no need to replace perfectly serviceable furniture just because it's old. read more

He also helped us with a comfort issue in the primate theatre aka a loud hvac system and took care of business at the front. Literally did it all. Out of all of the theaters I've had the pleasure to visit this year, this has been the worst. When we walked in no one greeted us, in fact, no one scanned our tickets. You could have easily walked in. They didn't look under staffed when I visited, I saw well over 10 employees, yet there was no one at the door and there was popcorn everywhere - in the lobby, in the hallways, and in the theater. The sound quality in theater 11 wasn't good. It started out loud and half way through the movie, the sound quality dropped. Sounded like I was watching a movie with at home sound system. Seats are old, they do not recline, and are on the smaller side. They were decently comfortable given that they're likely well over 20 years old. The concession stand had limited options and prices were just ok. You get to pick your own soda, add your own butter, and they have relish and jalapenos self serve as well. The pros are that they have a lot of parking and tickets are just $10 / person read more

This theater has went so far downhill. It's sad that they are just letting it get so bad. The seats desperately need to be redone, they're awful to look at. Not terribly uncomfortable, but you can tell they've been around for many years. Today we saw Joker Part 2 and I saw a mouse running under the seats. I recently went to the theater for concert advertised for live viewing at cinema. I purchased the tickets through Fandango. I bought two tickets that totaled over $50. Once we got to theater, the attendant checked my ticket code & told us we can go to auditorium where the concert live viewing was scheduled to be showing. We were met with no one there 20 minutes prior to showtime. 5 minutes yo showtime- still no one and not even previews on screen. We checked to see if it was showing in different auditorium. No. We finally saw the attendant who checked our tickets. He went to tell other staff or management then told us it was canceled. Another showing was scheduled earlier and it was cancelled as well. Since this was a limited showing due to it be a concert viewing, it was too late to exchange tickets for another theater it was playing at the moment. I was so disappointed because I was happy the theater nearest to me has this listed only to find out with no notice that the showing was cancelled. I reached out to Fandango to let them know and they said they needed to confirm cancellation with Maya Cinema. They have reached out several times with no response. They cannot issue a refund until Maya Cinemas - Pittsburg confirms cancellation. Since Fandango could not get response, they told me directly to reach out. I had to leave a voicemail and still waiting for response on cancellation and refund. It's safe to say right now, I will not be seeing a movie in this theater again anytime soon. It's thanksgiving week and my husband and I are in town visiting family. There's a handful of movies that have premiered this week, with that being Wicked and Gladiator 2. I had a little solo date watching Wicked one day and I went during a matinee showing. They didn't have anyone in the box office and there was a sign that said, tickets can be purchased inside at the concession stand. So I walked inside and there wasn't many people in front of me, just 2 groups. I went to pay for my ticket and get some snacks. My go to is typically a drink and some candy, so I ordered an icee, but the flavor I wanted was out of service so I got the only working flavor which was mango pineapple which was really good and I got some M&M's. The theaters are cleans and spacious. I went back a few days later and saw Gladiator with my husband and we went towards the evening and it was a lot busier than expected. This time we purchased tickets at the box office. We went straight to our theatre and sat down. My husband got the snacks this time and he just got a large popcorn and I was surprised that you can add some Tapatio on your popcorn!!! IYKYK it was such a nice twist to add to our popcorn. Overall experience was great and I would be back to see more movies next time we're in town! read more

I had to get in line 3x because they don't pre-sale hotdogs, I wanted 2. I was told to come back in 20 minutes, then I came back and again not ready, so I was told 7 more minutes therefore I lost almost 30 min of my movie and still not ready they said 10 more minutes. read more

Definitely a positive review. We were all set to see a movie on a very busy Wednesday this week. We had already purchased tickets, gotten our snacks, and were ready to go in. Well, right about then, my daughter had a sudden medical emergency that we had to attend to. Happens sometimes.. as we sat there, attending to her, theater employees were extremely kind in offering help in any capacity. Lines were 10 deep at the counter, and they still made time for us. In particular, Marissa, I believe her name was, offered to refund our tickets, sight unseen, as we were obviously going to miss the movie, and gave us vouchers for another time. She was so generous and compassionate, we want to thank her specifically. Maya Cinemas has had a bad rap at times, but we've consistently had good experiences there. While the theater is mediocre with small rooms, it is the parking lot security that's the biggest concerns. For it's location, the parking lot is dark with no security to be seen. After our movie, we returned to our car only to find the window was broken and someone's been inside the car. Window breaking is like an epidemic in the bay area but there should be at least some sort of security personnel that patrols the area while customer spends the next 2 hours in their business. read more

This place is AWESOME a couple weeks ago I went to see transformers one with my kids and they loved it. Great food, and a great staff.

My fiance and I came here for a date night to watch Deadpool and A Quiet Place. Worst experience ever. The volume in both theaters were low, the chairs are uncomfortable, the arm rest was broken in one theater, and there isn't enough space in between chairs. The biggest thing that made the experience the worst was the lack of monitoring of the staff on teenagers. During our whole time watching A Quiet Place a group of teenagers were running in and out of the theater, running up and down the stairs, talking and laughing, and taking pictures with the flash on. They have coffee and espresso on their menu but when asked if they have it they said they don't. I also wanted a hot dog but they were all out and I would have had to wait 10 minutes for more to be made. The drink machine was sticky and dirty. So sad, but we will never return to this theater. read more
