Brenden is a small theater chain operating in CA, NV, and AZ. This location sits in downtown Concord, just a block from Todos Santos Plaza. My brother and I have been coming here since it first opened in the 90s. After a long hiatus, we made our return on 06/15/2026 to watch "Disclosure Day", our first visit since COVID. Tickets were $7.75 each, which felt very reasonable. Snack prices were on the higher side, but still typical for a movie theater. The movie was shown in Theater 9. The seats were a bit dated, but the reclining function still worked. The auditorium was clean, and I didn't notice any trash. Unlike their cross-town competition Veranda LUXE Cinema & IMAX, this one does not offer in-movie food service. I genuinely appreciate that, since the constant disruptions from people ordering and eating can be incredibly annoying. Overall, Brenden is still a nice place to catch a movie. 4 stars. read more

Feb 3. 2026 3.4 stars Theater three You buy tickets and food off a touch screen. There is a learning curve. You struggle with this as two employees idly chat with each other. An employee forgot to add salt to the popcorn. We had to make a special salt run.. Update: They want you to add salt and butter yourself. Too bad there is no way to evenly distribute salt and butter throughout a full bag of bland popcorn. The seats are worn though relatively comfortable. . A waste container was dragged into the theater seating area during the movie in an excessively noisy manner. MELANIA was enjoyable. We always choose a movie unlikely to be crowded or frequented by ruffians. read more

I was looking to catch a good thriller/horror flick here the other day, and ended up checking out Five Nights at Freddy's 2, which actually turned out to be better than expected. I hadn't been to Brenden's in years, more than a decade for sure. But the place provided a satisfactory moviegoing experience. The parking garage in the back of the theater, off Willow Pass Road, offers free parking. The ticket kiosks apparently don't take swiped cards (only tap or insert). Because I had a gift card, I had to be helped at the guest service counter to make my purchase. Not a big deal. Staff was helpful. The lobby was colorful and modern, with two levels of auditoriums and a concessions stand at the center with long lines in the afternoon. There's another concessions stand near the rear auditoriums, which was closed this past weekend while I was there. I opted not to grab any snacks on this day, but I do like that they have self-serve butter dispensers here. There's also a Cinema Cafe attached to the theater serving even more menu items. Inside the auditorium, it was quite spacious, most of the seats toward the bottom front section set up in pairs, even private seating nooks for couples offered along one side all the way to the top. The railing did not obstruct the view of the screen. Sound and picture quality were ideal. The seats themselves were visibly worn (and some even torn). But at least they were comfy, reclining far back with leg rests stretching all the way out. read more

Beware of Brenden Theaters ! As they charge a $1.75 convenience fee for each ticket purchased at the Theaters box office or counter in person . ( walk Up) There was nothing stated about the charge and was not very happy about it being added. As we went to the early showing and Senior tickets were shown at $8.25 each and when cash payment was made they were $10.00 each Did ask and the lady and was told there was a convenience fee added on. Even if the tickets are bought at the Theater. also the lady with the glasses running the ticket counter/snack bar need some dire customer service training and learn what a customer is all about when they walk thru the door. Not a happy person working there. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE AT THE KINGMAN AZ BRENDEN THEATHER. Also did spend $38.00 on snacks and thought that was way to high things are way over priced there as a pretzel was $9.00 also the Theater is run down and needs work also does not have recliner seats just standard hard seats. Not Happy. Also did email Brenden Theaters Corp office and even called several times and left voice messages to ask about the convenience fee and no response from either! There was a used condom in the seat cupholder. Super gross and makes me wonder how often the theater is actually cleaned. Most of the workers are nice but there's one or two who are pretty unfriendly and standoffish. The theater is overall poorly maintained and practically falling apart in some theaters. I have been coming to this theatre 10 years. It used to be suburb with brand new leather seats that reclined. Sadly, when I went this weekend I was met with the theatre's lack of maintenance and cold popcorn with no butter. My husband and I brought our kids to the theatre and there no literally no one at the movies besides us, and a few others. Mind you this was at 2:00 p.m. so I am not sure how busy they get in the evening, but this Saturday was a ghost town. At first when we tried to get our tickets there was something wrong with the machine and it saying the showtime had already passed, so we had to get someone involved and they printed our tickets. I ordered popcorn, and the Gentleman who gave it to me pulled it from inside the popcorn trolly, and it was cold and no butter. I don't know how long it had been there. So we got our other snacks. The cashier was nice, and helpful and we proceeded to the theatre. Upon entering we saw one other family. And later a few more joined, but still a ghost town. We found our reserved seats, saved when my husband booked the tickets. We sat in the recliners. Two of them didn't work. Since we reserved the seats and the kids had began eating we decided not to switch seats. If this theatre gets busy I don't see why they don't keep up. Also, in the strip where the theatre is I always see a new restaurants popping up. I never see the same thing for more than a few months. Maybe it's time for a renovation. I would suggest adding a large gaming room to the theatre to attract patrons. This has become a trend with movie theater who are starting to look like a ghost town. This indy theater has awesome recliners! They go almost all the way horizontal. Theater- clean, staff- friendly, bathrooms- nice! We saw a very intense movie- The Lost Bus- with Matthew McConaughey. The sound was not too loud, like some other theaters. It was just right, yeeeee! (This was theater 4). Can't wait to go back! The best part- THEIR $6 matinee for members!! (Membership is free!) I was really pleasantly surprised by this theater it is kind of a hidden gem. You drive by and it blends in with the buildings and looks like an ordinary theater, but you enter and there is a lot of personality. Very retro colorful decor that creates an experience in itself. It's probably one of the cleanest movie theaters I've ever been to as well. The chairs that are in the theater are super comfortable and recline, there's a tray to put your food and drink as well. To top it off the staff is extremely kind and helpful. It was such a good experience there I've went back a couple times since, with my kid. The only downsides are the parking , street parking is pretty busy usually but there is public parking about a block away. Also sometimes the volume is a little too loud in the movie but those are small things in comparison to the over all positives of this place ! read more

We arrived early for the last showing of a movie at Concord Brendan's theater, which was our first time there. Despite being the only customers, the employees were friendly and helpful and kept themselves busy cleaning after assisting us. We took the opportunity to explore the spacious theater, admiring its unique design. There is a ramp that leads to the majority of the theaters and bathrooms. Two more theaters and restrooms, including a nicely decorated, very clean ladies' room, are upstairs. Our reclining chairs in the theater were comfortable and worked well, but the armrests showed signs of wear. Overall, the experience was good, but the lighting outside the theater could be improved for safety reasons, as it was quite dark when we exited the theater. read more

First time here decided to watch a Punjabi (Indian)film with Diljit Dosanjh Sardaarji 3. No problem getting tickets as it was a weekday afternoon. The first thing I noticed was the theaters parking was strange- there is a free clean parking structure but it's not really advertisers the theaters parking- then there is some random street and a couple of small restaurants parking nearby . Keep in my mind this downtown Concord so it can get congested at peak times. The inside of the theater looks kinda outdated and it is has multiple levels which can get confusing . The restrooms signs to be exact. There are several food and condiment stations but only one that was actually open so you don't know which one will be open at what time of the day. The theater had recliners but the fake leather was aging and the cupholders were filthy and sticky bottomed . So cleanliness the theater was iffy. Don't have any problem with the movie or the sound so 4/5 . Didn't really use service so I don't know how that is yet. If you want to see a movie quietly with no crowds and lots of places to eat nearby then take a chance at Brenden theaters- not a lot of locations though. We had a good experience here. Staff was friendly, greeted us when we walked in, quick at concessions. The entire place was clean. Restrooms were nice. The theatre is a little bit older so the seats are worn a bit but chairs are comfortable, recline back and have a swivel tray. For $8 for kids and $9 for adults, you can't beat it. read more

We came here for a limited screening in the Bay Area and there's free parking in the lot where the theatres are located so that's a plus. The theatre has 14 theatres and so it is quite spacious with a huge concession stand in the front and another one down the ramp. No free refills on extra large popcorn so we ordered it and ate it all! Love the electric reclining seats with tray and cup holder! Went to see the Materialist Saturday at 8:50 in theater 3. The entire movie was out of focus, the resolution appeared to mimic a VHS film. the projector was not aligned with the screen so there was a lot of image washout on the sides. The brightness of the movie bounced around a LOT which was very distracting, more an issue with the projector not the film itself. Frankly it looked like we were watching a pirated version of the movie. Absolute disappointment, it's no wonder that place is always a ghost town. read more

The staff was nothing but thoughtful, some Other customers near us were very disrespectful, I highly dislike how some people treat the staff here. The staff here is very rude because I ordered an Icee 30 minutes before the starting show time and it melted before the movie even started. I asked one of the employees if he could give me a new icee and he refused to. I told him I didn't even take a sip and he still said no. Another time my husband and I walked in and the main manager scanned our tickets. He gave us a death stare and said " Next time you guys use senior tickets I'm kicking you guys out because you always do this". I'm not sure how they can triple book seat selections in a nearly empty theater, but they did. 3 different families (including mine) all reserved the same seats and had the tickets to prove it. Some theatre seats are still in decent shape, but the last two times we went to see a movie the chairs were completely worn out and disgusting. We went to this theatre for the first time in five years - and it's about 3 miles from our house. We use to drive to Brentwood AMC due to our membership. However after cancelling, I decided to find something closer to home. Definitely an older theatre, no frills. But the prices are good, they have reclining chairs (some show their age), and it's close to home. I do wish there was an easy way to get your tickets refunded (like AMC) but you can't have it all! Other than that, the place is clean and the theaters have good screens and sound, there's plenty of parking and several good restaurants nearby -- plus they've got cheap movies one day a week (Tuesday?). Besides the drive-in, their discount days are the cheapest way to see a new release. The seats are a bit worn but still more than serviceable. read more

We bought some Groupon movie tickets (we have a family of five so seeing movies is super expensive) for Brendan Theater in Concord and had gone and seen some movies there and always purchased popcorn. We went in last weekend to get some tickets and they told me that they discontinued the program with Groupon. I told them that was their prerogative but that they need to honor the tickets that were already sold. The manager told me he would not do that and to reach out to Groupon for a refund. I've been trying to deal with Groupon the last week and have not yet gotten a refund. If a business commits to a program and they decide to discontinue the program, basic common business sense and customer service is that you honor what's already sold until those tickets are used or expired. This was a terrible decision on the part of that manager, and we will not be going to see movies at Brendan theaters in the future. read more

Saw Nope with my mom and husband on a Monday at 3:30pm. We bought our tickets on Fandango and when we arrived we checked in with the person at the concessions stand. We didn't buy any snacks but we did get a large drink which did not get free refills like at Regal theaters, that was kind of disappointing. This place has gone considerably down hill. The movie started at 2pm. I arrived at the theater at 1:45pm... you know... like a normal person. I was greeted by a non-uniformed employee who was muttering what only could be described as unintelligible gibberish. Figuring him just to be an oddly-friendly guy of foreign origin, I continued towards the ticket desk. At the ticket desk I was greeted by another non-uniformed man who appeared very confused about my presence. He looks at me and says "I don't think we're open". Well "no-name number two", the doors were open, the movie starts in 15 minutes... I am literally standing inside your business! It was open dude. So confused, I walk back towards the front door and "no-name number one" says "I tried to tell you we weren't open" in the most clear English anyone had ever heard. Strange way to run a business no-names. We guess what? F&@$ you. Your business is steadily dying and nobody wants to come to your decaying and disgusting movie theater because of unprofessional bullshit like this. There are lots of movie theaters around here. Brenden theater has been my go to for a very long time and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experiences. The theatre is pretty clean, which is always a nice touch when visiting any establishment. Moreover, the seats were incredibly spacious and comfortable, making my movie-watching experience that much more enjoyable. The only downside to the seats is that they are pretty worn and could use an upgrade. Another great aspect of Brenden Theatre is their dining menu, which was absolutely terrific. They offer a wide variety of options that are perfect for movie-goers who want a quick snack or a full meal while they enjoy their film. I recommend Wookiee fries and the burger is one of the best burgers I've had in Concord. I usually grab a beer to go along with my food. As far as theater snacks, the popcorn is always perfection, my kid likes being able to do butter himself. Parking is easy with a garage right behind the theater. It's a less than three minute walk. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Brenden Theatres in Concord if you're looking for a top-notch movie-goingexperience! read more
