The surfers paradise frozen cocktail, laden with passion fruit, mango, and pineapple, made me feel like I'd been transported to the islands. Didn't try the food here but the menu looked like standard pub fare, nothing gastro about it. Beer pong table was put away around 8pm to make room for the slowly infiltrating dance party ready crowds. All Bar One next door seemed to be more populated in comparison. Don't know what was going on because (based on my friends commentary, not from experience), the place is usually packed by this hour. Maybe just an off night or maybe everyone was busy watching the bonfire weekend fireworks display. Bartenders were free pouring it up, which is a welcome change from the precise measuring they're all about in this country. My bartender opted to go hard with the theatrical aspect of bartending, including plenty of cheesy jokes and fun glasses in the air moves. They brought us over a round of free shots to end the night, which was a nice gesture, but not an overly generous one given our group had cumulatively ordered at least 30 drinks. Cell signal and wifi signal were both weak, which was a slight annoyance. Decent mix of new and old tunes, but they definitely had their playlist on repeat. After hearing every song about 3 times over, we called it a night and headed out.

There was a beer pong table set up in the middle of the bar...a little weird for a Wednesday night but whatever floats your boat Adventure Bar! They also have this cool separate area which would be so great for a party. It's not 100% private but it's off to the side. I imagine it gets pretty busy on a weekend. Great little area in Clapham Junction. A few other nice pubs/bars nearby.

I dare not order food - this man clearly shouldn't be working on his own. But he is friendly if a bit confused by a lone black girl wanting a Cosmo and some hookah at 4pm lol :-) With the Cosmo at £8 though, I won't be back. Yes, the staff is ultra ultra laid back... but I've never ever found them to be rude... Slow? Yes. Forgetful? Maybe. But oh-so-familiar and chill that I can't help but forgive them like I would a good friend... and isn't that really at the heart of what makes this place what it is? Heck, the staff even let my sister hold a photo shoot here when her initial venue fell through at the last minute and she found herself in a bind. Now *that's* uber-nice... not to mention just downright cool. The decor is dark and intimate... maybe shabby in places, but what on Brick Lane isn't? I've always been impressed by the food and drinks - especially considering the low prices. And the music and ambiance is something that I can *always* count on when I want to meet up with people for a quiet drink and chat that feels just a little out-of-the-ordinary.

They also had a special on the San Miguel beer of 5 in a bucket for £15 and 2 for 1 offers on selected cocktails. We all went for the beer option. For the burger I went for Beef on Beef burger, which was a burger with a chilli topping. It was quite tastey but the chilli was a little on the dry side. It was also covered in loads of Jalapeno slices, which was abit too much for me.There were tons of sauces to choose from at a 50p supplement. I went for the blue cheese sauce, but asked for it on the side, as I wanted it for my fries. Not a huge burger, but managable for me. John W was the only one who did not go for a burger. He went for the 'Son of a Bitch with No Soul'. This wa 6 wings covered in Shaker's insanely hot son of a bitch with no soul hot sauce. He had to complet it without taking any liquids. There was not a time limit, and he completed it in 18 minutes to get has name on the fame board. If you sign up to the mailing list, they will also send you a voucher for a free cocktail. I had a 'Blue Neon, which consisted of Gin, aromatic wine, blue curacao, lemon juice topped with prosecco. This would normally be £8. All in all, this was a fun place and the company was good too which helped. I would come here again.

It hits you as soon as you go in, well, as soon as I did, my friend had a cocktail waiting for me, when all I really wanted was a beer. Either way, I took my cocktail and smiled, and was escorted to our lounge where our party had a table. It is over two floors and if you get here before 9pm, you will have access to the club downstairs which plays upbeat Rnb, Hip Hop and Funky house. So it was free for us to party too. They apparently serve great food here too, but I am yet to experience it. This is a really nice Bar, friendly staff, and a good night out. We stayed till around 12 and then went elsewhere, but come to think of it, if we stayed at Babble, we would have had a better night out.

That alone creates a wait, but it doesn't help that their happy hour drink specials are all very complicated cocktails. In other words, I asked if a simple mixed drink was on happy hour special, but was told I needed to select from a menu that was much more complicated, and said drinks took the bar staff 4x the time and resources to make. Oh, and twice the price. Spent the next hour downstairs, where the bar was better but the room was very hot. At this point, mixed drinks are about 8.50 and beers start at 5.25 GBP. If you can get one. I stood at the upstairs bar for almost a half hour before getting noticed. When I complained about the wait, the bartender refused to ask for the manager and said I was in the wrong. But even more strangely, she couldn't help me because she was training a new employee. I'm generally supportive of good, local businesses, but Babble's only redeeming factor is location. Otherwise, it's a dud.

It was a bit fruiter than the drinks I typically like but it was tasty, not too strong and perfect for one drink. The vibe of the bar is kinda like a speakeasy- low lights, scattered seating, and you have to go down a set of stairs to get to the actual bar (some of them are pretty steep so watch your step). The staff was attentive and the music was a good mix of genres.

I walked in during lunchtime on a Thursday, and there was a relatively low number of people. Most of the tables were reserved, but the waitress said that if I was willing to be out within the hour, she could get me a table. I agreed, and she situated me in a cozy table nestled in a corner with a decent view of the street... and then, forgot about me. Given that I had only been given an hour, I quickly perused the menu- it wasn't hard, as the lunch menu only has a few items on it- and waited. And, then waited some more. Nearing the 15-minute mark, I was both baffled and worried, as I watched my waitress socializing with some guys that walked in after me and served them each some beers, oblivious to my hungry stares from the corner. Just as I was about to give up and walk out, she finally noticed me waiting and took my order. Honestly, from what I remember of the menu, it was all slightly-upscale bar food, beer, and a small selection of wines and cocktails . I ordered the Bird In A Box meal for £12, expecting to get 2-3 pieces of fried chicken and some fries; but, to my surprise, there were between 10-12 pieces, literally, in a box, all nestled on a bed of fries. The chicken wasn't bad, but it wasn't much different from you'd get at a KFC. The fries, I have to admit, were pretty darn good; perfectly crispy. The chicken was all drumsticks and wings, so it wasn't overly-filling, but seeing as fried chicken and fries don't reheat well, I would only order this one to share, if I were you. The prices for lunch were decent, overall, but I can't speak for the dinner portion of the day. Booze-wise, it's all pretty standard, but if you're not picky with your alcohol, it is a rather nice patio to lounge in. I would book ahead, though, as it might get busy later on in the day. The location isn't bad, but if you're in a rush, I would recommend going to one of the other joints in the area.
