Rich was my piercer and we talked about my current piercings that I have and how they are uneven on my earlobes and we talked about my goals. Together, we came up with a plan and I let Rich have some creativity and I can't be more in love with how it turned out. Overall, the place was clean, they had incredible jewelry to choose from, everybody was nice, they took the time to explain and come up with the best plan. They are very clean and very nice but my piercer's breath was really bad. Also I saw a screenshot between my friend and Maya modification and Maya was trying to get my friend to pay the deposit for cancelling less that 24 hours in advance but my friend did cancel within 24 hours and mayas response was "I just saw the message" if I could attach the SS I would but it seems very shady like why are you trying to get more money from people when you already charge a million dollars. read more

Just got my nose pierced there. The place was nice and clean with a convenient downtown location. My piercers name was Rich and he was super nice and went through the whole process to make sure I knew what was happening before it actually happened. 10/10 would recommend going here. read more

I have had no troubles with the healing process, the piercer made sure I knew how to care for the new piercing and let me know to contact him with any questions I may have later. I ordered jewelry on Feb 14. After no communication from Maya I stopped in March 13. Still no jewelry. Said it would be in following week. No communication. Made an appointment to talk to them about it for June 15. She canceled on night of June 14. I requested the prepaid $130 back or the jewelry. She refused. Then refunded half the amount electronically. Ripped me off $65. I did not settle for half. I said the jewelry or $130. I did not cancel order. I will be following up legally. My husband and I went in to get a couple piercings done on our ears. My husband wanted 3 in a row on his cartilage. After making his marks the piercing technician make his holes only to take one out, pierce at a different point, take that one out, and pierce another different point. In all, his ear was pierced 5 times and he left with 3 pieces of jewelry in his ear. All fine and well, the piercer wanted it to be perfect right? Wrong. The holes my husband walked out with were not spaced right and were not straight in a line as asked. We ended up having to take these out at home after his whole ear swelled up 3 months later because they never healed properly. While we were there another customer came in with an infected piercing from 2 days before and he quickly blamed it on her own habits. I don't know the details of this person's experience, but I hope it wasn't near like ours. I got my conch pierced with a simple stud. It seemed ok at first. Once the minor swelling subsided I could tell the back of the stud wasn't laying flat on my ear, it was digging in on one side. 6 months later, I am sitting in my bathroom having to have my husband pry it out of my ear because that point that was digging in had moved under my skin and had caused my ear to swell up and swallow the back of that earring . Many will say this is due to improper healing and care, and I assure you, we have both had multiple piercings and followed every single instruction given to us in this situation and done everything we always have for the rest of our piercings. We had a terrible experience with the work the piercing tech did. Never in my life have I had piercings turn out like this after proper care. The piercer also didn't seem to listen to us when we expressed concern, he quickly brushed everything off, and had horrible breath on top of it all. After paying almost $300 on piercings, we are left with nothing. I would not recommend the piercer at Maya Modification. My sister and I did get nice tattoos there, but I wouldn't let that dude put any holes in your body. read more
