The chicken was great. The people were so friendly. The quantity of food was plentiful. If you go there, you have to try the apple pie.

If you are a fan of the Andy Griffith Show and Mayverry, this is a lovely place to visit and stay for a meal. If you're not a local, you'll soon realize why we love this place, not only is the food super, so is the service. A lot of Mayberry memorabilia to see during your visit. While visiting family that live nearby on Lake Greenwood it was suggested to eat here. My meatloaf, mashed potatos, fried okra, cornbread and sweet tea were all delicious. My cousin and uncle both had crispy fried chicken livers that they raved about. I saw a cheeseburger basket being delivered to another table and I believe I'll try one on my next visit. All the ladies working there were friendly and took care of any requests we had. There are actually 2 seperate dining rooms. Outside doesn't look like much but I totally recomend it. read more

This place is a gem. We have been going back and forth from home to Greenville lately and stopped for a bite to eat. We have repeated that visit because it is so good. First, this a Southern style diner that offers meat and vegetable dishes. But, it also has a number of sandwiches and burgers and fries type options, so it is great for any taste. One of the best thing is how friendly and nice the staff is, plus they know their stuff, as in explaining specials and what they have that day as some of the meats and sides change. I always know I am in a good diner when things like chicken livers or gizzards are available. Yesterday, the livers were an option. We have gotten things to go due to our traveling with a dog, but my wife did get a meat and veggie option yesterday, while I went with the cheeseburger. Another time she got a BLT sandwich. Her meat was really nicely cooked chicken tenders, cole,slaw and beer battered French fries. I had another cheeseburger. It was all excellent, with the fries and chicken tenders cooked properly. The cheeseburger is a nice sized hand made patty with good quality meat and it was so good, I have ordered it more than once. They have two dining areas and it has a great Southern feel, plain in a very good way with lots of interesting Mayberry themed items on the walls. We will go back and I really want to try a meat and three. Oh yeah, the tea is excellent, as well. Big shout out to the two women waitresses whose names I do not know, one white and the other black. They delivered our order to our car and both were sweet as could be. I highly recommend this local gem in a very small, beautiful town. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch today after a HAMfest. It doesn't look like much, but we were dying for some good diner food, so we checked it out. He got a cheeseburger and fries, I got the fried chicken sandwich with tots. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was fresh, crispy and delicious. Best Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Bacon Cheeseburger within 50 miles! Their beef is the best around and something about their rolls is very special. Have quite a big menu, given their small size, with specials every day, super sweet servers and the price can't be beat. Worth a trip to Cross Hill, SC. Just enjoyed one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I've eaten in a long time. It was perfectly cooked with sautéed onions & a toasted bun. The owners, Mike and Brenda Smith, treat you like family and the service was excellent. Anyone who likes The Andy Griffith Show will love stepping back into the past, enjoying pictures from the show, and a continuous loop of classic episodes on TV.
