I went here this holiday break to watch "Back to the 80s Part 2: The Adventure Continues" this is based on the 80s cult classic film Bill and Ted's excelent adventure. I went on a Sunday and had the brunch and show. I had a blast at this show and the costumes, acting and singing were amazing. I thought the food that was provided at the venu was delicious and the service that I received was great. So far this is the third time that I have been to the Mayfield Dinner theatre and I have not been disatisified. The server that was assigned to my table to serve us was funny, polite and attentive. The seat I got was super close to the stage for a decent price. Although the tickets are generally expensive, the entertainment and the service that you get makes it well worth it. The choice of food at the buffet was also very good. I believe they had food options to meet the needs of everyone. I also really liked the venue because it is nice. I will definitely be coming back here this year to check out other shows and enjoy food and excellent music. If you're a fan of Ted and Bills Excellent Adventure, I recommend you check this show out... you won't be disappointed! read more

This was my third time going to the dinner theater at the Mayfield. I really enjoy the atmosphere the staff are phenomenal the food is exceptional. The chefs there are very courteous ask me if I needed help finding anything or if I needed anything they were just phenomenal. The staff that serve you there are great they're very friendly helpful and have exceptional service. I also went into the box office this last time that I went to the Mayfield and the box office staff were great they were very helpful and any information that I needed our questions I had they were able to answer them no problem. I would highly recommend going it's definitely worth the price of admission and the shows are fantastic great singing great overall atmosphere read more

The shows are always very well done. Food is just okay. The wife likes salads and says that they are mediocre, not the freshest or tastiest. Most of the other dishes they have are pretty decent. All in all a pretty decent night out. read more

I recently attended Mayfield Dinner Theatre's production of Dark Star: The Life & Times of Roy Orbison as part of Yelp Elite Newbie Night. It was my first time here, I was extremely impressed by the service and the quality of the food and production, and I would pay full price ($80-120, depending on what day/time and seating location) to go back again. First off, the food. The buffet opens 2 hours before the show for brunch or dinner. There is a huge assortment of food from salads, seafood, meat (including prime rib and fluffy Yorkshire pudding), pasta and dessert. There were also lots of vegetarian and gluten-free options. Bring your appetite- there wasn't anything I ate that wasn't tasty. The standout for me was the chef (tonight, sous chef Andre Theroux) that was roaming around! He came up to me, asked if I'd tried a random dish, and told me all about the recipe and how it was developed. His excitement for his offerings were palpable and made the buffet even more enjoyable. Upon finding out that 2 of my dining mates were vegetarian, he offered to have the kitchen personally make them another dish that they could enjoy. You just don't expect these personal touches from buffets - amazing!! The servers were great, always very courteous and made sure our drinks were filled. The show was high quality. The singers and musicians are very talented, and it was interesting hearing a bit of the backstory of the music that my dad used to listen to while I was growing up. The focus was more on the music than the story (unlike, say, Jersey Boys, where the music was very well-integrated within). I will say that many of the shows have content/music that cater to an older crowd (which is why I'd never been before, and I wouldn't have gone to this show myself without the Yelp event), but their next show coming up in November is an 80's themed show - too much fun, I'll definitely be there with my shoulder pads and side ponytail... Although it sounds a bit pricey for a night out, it is a similar price/slightly cheaper to a production at the Citadel or Jubilee, and includes a solid meal too. The Roy Orbison show specifically would make a great present for your parents (or any fans of his music) - I wish mine were in town so I could treat them! A final tip - it is easier to access the theatre from Mayfield Road between 109 and 107 ave (just look for the big signs) than the address posted here. The entrance on 109 ave posted here does not have any signage (only that of the Doubletree) and took me a while to find. read more

I have been here to see two plays so far. Most recently was Cabaret. The food is amazing and the stage is always gorgeous. I quite enjoyed Cabaret, the cast was full of win. Big props to the narrator moving the story along. Talented voices for my ear holes. I only have two complaints and they are minimal complaints at best. First I was sitting sideways to the stage which ment I had to contort my body to view the stage, made my spine very sore by the end of the night. Though that isn't how all the seating is in the place, I just happened to luck out my two times going. Second complaint would be the prices of the specialty drinks: all but the mocktail are $10. The drinks themselves not worth the expense. I suppose they are pricey as a way to tip the venue. Overall I love theatre and this is certainly a place to attend to see jaw dropping sets, music, acting and unique plays. I will be back again, hopefully in better seating. read more

I've been to the Mayfield Dinner Theatre several times in the last few years and enjoyed it every time. The theatre space is expansive, and no matter where you sit you've got a good view. I love the round high-backed cushion booths in the mid-section. Every show I've been to has been entertaining and well done. Like most dinner theatre, they focus on Broadway-style performances. Lots of singing and dancing, not much heavy stuff, which is what you want if you're eating and mingling with dinner company. The actors are top-knotch local and Canadian performers, like John Ullyatt and Pamela Gordon. The food here is also exceptional. The spread is massive, and I don't really like buffets, but the variety here is exquisite. Whether you want a pasta, meat & potatoes, seafood or salad night, you've got miles of options to choose from. The trick is not gorging yourself so you don't have indigestion by Act Three. They don't call it Canada's premiere dinner theatre for nothing! But it's not cheap, so unless you're made of moula, save it for a special occasion. read more

This dinner theatre is awesome! I've only been here a few times, but i enjoy a night out of great food, drinks and entertainment! The first show I seen here was hairspray, excellent show! The actors did an amazing job, then I went and seen Don't dress for dinner which was another good show, and this upcoming week I will be going to see cabaret! All the staff are so friendly, always making sure you have refills, and that the plates are cleared off the table! The buffet is always a hit, so much food to choose from! I would highly recommending to come out and see a show!! read more

I hadn't been the Mayfield since I was a teenager and was so happy to go with the Eite squad to Dark Star: The story of Roy Orbison. You start off with the dinner which was amazing. So much food and Yorkshire pudding! You definitely have to go back for seconds as there's so much selection and the plate fills up fast. Many options for all kinds of diets and restrictions. There is also waiter service at the tables which I found the staff to be wonderful and made sure we were all having a good time. The cocktails are very pricey though so I didn't indulge. The dinner portion lasts about 90 minutes before the show starts. You'll want to load up on any snacks and drinks beforehand as the lights are completely down during the show and there is no service during. I found the seating comfortable, though after dinner we were all so full we could have used some recliners. I don't think there could be a bad seat in the house except maybe right up at the front of the stage. I sat in a booth right in the middle so I was very comfortable but the other ladies I was sitting with had to maneuver to get comfortable to see. The show itself was enjoyable. I'm not a big follower of Roy Orbison and found the facts about his life interesting but for many points I felt like I was just watching a cover band rather than a theatre show. The actors did very well and the impersonations were spot on. A few of the cast definitely had more energy than others and it was very noticeable in their movements. But the music was great, Overall you can't go wrong with the Mayfield Dinner Theatre. For the price you get so much and it's a great choice for a romantic evening or going out with friends. read more

Come hungry! This was the 1st time I brought one of my kids to the dinner theatre and although she is a HUGE fan of Hairspray the movie, and I enjoy live theatre, I wasn't sure how she would react when it wouldn't be exactly like the movie. Well it wasn't an issue at all! She knew a lot of the song selections and the quick pace of the storyline kept her well entertained. All of the actors were quit well suited to their roles, so overall we thoroughly enjoyed the show. Next up the actual dinner or in our case brunch. She loved the brunch choices, as did I, her choosing mostly familiar favourites aka bacon.. but ventured into trying a few new things I was having as well. She also loved her fancy non-alcoholic pina coloda, and I tried 2 of the drink specials they had created for the show, the lychee martini being my fav. And who wouldn't love the dessert buffet?? Too many choices is probably our biggest complaint! I've since learned they have a new chef in house since the changing of the brand over to The Hilton Doubletree, so all of the long time favourites of the brunch are still being offered there, with a nice sprinkling of new selections to try. The staff as always were spot on, and a couple even stopped to comment about our appearance and how we looked like we could be in the show as we had chose our outfits to go along with the feel of the 60's presented in the play. Our drink orders were taken and delivered in a timely fashion and our water was topped up multiple times over the course of our meal. Our used plates were cleared without having to ask and our bill was brought to us and settled quickly. Overall I have to say we completely enjoyed ourselves throughout every aspect of the dinner theatre and I wouldn't hesitate to take her again! read more

The dinner theatre is truly an experience I believe everyone should have. It's paired with amazing food and such a delightful show! It's great for date night or a group of people. The selection of food that is offered is amazing. The quality of food and flavours are truly evident in all the dishes. I used to work here, I originally applied just as a summer job, but I loved the place so much I stayed for 3 years haha. Even when I left I was still one of the newer employees, they treat their staff really well and I enjoyed working here. One of the perks was we got to go to the shows occassionally and I loved being in the audience in a show! It was super entertaining (obviously depending on the show) but the food is great, and things are kept super clean (I know because I had to clean it). You can even show up at the door and buy discounted tickets at the time the show starts if it's not sold out, which is really handy for last minute dates. I would definitely recommend going here, I've been to other dinner theatres before but this one is a little more classy. Technically you could say this review is biased because I was an employee, but I personally think that I would trust previous employee's reviews because they really know how things are done, and because I'm no longer an employee I have nothing to gain or lose by leaving a review here, just spreading the word of a good experience :) read more

Only been here once. The show was amazing and very entertaining. The food is typical hotel catering. They could do much better. Although it came out hot I think it was either kept in a warmer for too long or microwaved. You only get 3 choices. Fish, chicken or meat. Go for the fish or chicken. The steaks looked like crap. Typical potatoes and veg side. Nothing special. You're paying for an amazing show, served with a TV dinner. Lol. But then again I wasn't really here for an amazing meal and I received warning from people I was going with about the food. So not inedible but nothing special either. Don't get your hopes up for a great meal. But be prepared for a great show. read more

This is a review for the restaurant. We go here about 3-4 times a year. I personally don't like the musical reviews but overall the quality of plays is quite good. The buffet had really gone down hill. The highlight of the buffet is the prime rib. They generally have a good pasta offering. The cooked vegetables are often frozen vegetables that have been murdered and drowned in butter. The raw salad bar is bar is rather boring with budget offerings. They occasionally have an interesting and flavourful mixed salad dish but this is becoming a lot spottier. The worst thing on their menu is their chocolate desserts. They use a nasty, granular chocolate powder as the base. The bread pudding is pretty good but they tend to run out. read more

We watched Deathtrap on Saturday, which was the second last day of that season. I have to say my husband and I were disappointed with the show. It wasn't as amazing as what we had heard through reviews and some friends. I do have to admit the first half was pretty good but the second half, did not live up to the beginning. The food, however, was pretty amazing. This surprised us, the few times we've gone before, the food was not great. But the prime rib with yorkshire pudding, goat cheese stuffed chicken, mesquite bbq pork, sushi, and strawberry panna cotta were delicious. The new decor and ambience of the building was pretty nice, very modern looking. read more

My wife and I attended the Wednesday brunch performance of The Long Weekend. Seating was handled expediently at table 41 and even though we were a distance from the stage the view was still adequate. I had to trip a staff member to place a drink order. There was a large selection of breakfast items and other lunch type foods. Most people took the breakfast items and perhaps the reason for this was the lackluster salads, tasteless fish and chicken, and prime rib roast that was dry with au jus from a package mix. Very disappointing food!! Staff members were inadequate and looked out of sorts at times and plate clearing was a challenge. The performance was quite good and the actors spoke up so no need to increase the volume on hearing aids. We may go again but not for the food that is for certain!! read more

Last night our group if went came to see the The Last Resort. The meal was as usual totally incredible. However the show was weak. The plot was, I'm not certain there was one. I give a thumbs down. My parents have gone twice and are booked for a 3rd time. Both shows have been awesome and they say the food is amazing! The staff are even better. Sadly for the last show my parents got screwed over by some friends and were out $200.00 for tickets that their friends didn't use, or pay them for. The staff was nice enough to book them in for another show! and also did not charge my Dad the re-book fee :) I am aware that this probably would not happen all of the time, and that she was just a super nice person who realized that my parents has been screwed over BUT it sure makes us want to reccomend this dinner theatre to everyone we know! Having good shows and good food is one thing, but helpful and friendly staff doesn't happen everywhere! read more
