    Weekend lunch.

I really have experienced better. Buffets aren't always known for having top notch food. It's about the quantity of food, not its quality. There is ample seating. Booths and tables, and two levels of it. The main level is where the buffet is and seating, the lower area is just seating. Reasonable. You also have to pay for your buffet before you eat. Make sure you grab some cutlery before going back to your table since they don't set it for you. It's fully self service. The soda beverages are dispensed via a Coca Cola Freestyle machine. Not gonna lie, I had so many refills just to try as many options as possible. I really love soda. The hot food selection was minimal. I like trying different foods at buffets and this place does not really offer that. I am not looking for new or exotic things only a selection of things that I might not always make. The food that was there was bland. But because there were a few other tables and a couple of bigger groups the trays of food were coming out often enough so at least the food was hot and fresh. The salads aren't worth talking about. The desserts are ice cream and a few obviously store bought cakes, some cut fruit, and jello. I ate more dessert than food. I don't know that I would waste my calories on another visit. The downside for that is it's conveniently located in WEM.

They have hit a home run here. Smaller food assortment, but everything is delicious. Not just filling, but very tasty. The price is right considering that all bases are covered. Perhaps another music genre is in order in keeping with the retro theme. And as a decorator, the decor is very uninspiring. As a Baby Boomer, I would add some starlight themed decor. Get some turquoise in here.

    Salmon soup!

A beautiful restaurant that provides hearty eats for reasonable prices. Here each day staff prepare new dishes that are healthy and definitely better than the food court fare. Guests are asked to pay upfront and then are given free reign to seat themselves. While the selection to the buffet is small, it regularly changes each day. I prefer this compared to massive buffet restaurants that can't keep up with their items. There's a small salad area, a selection of soup, an ice cream machine, a fountain pop machine, and an area for the entrees. Plenty of seating is typically available, and the washrooms here are modern, tiled, and clean. If you are expecting to be wowed with top notch food, this is not the place. But if you are looking for a decent, clean, and hearty meal without going to fast food or some of the other fried joints in WEM, this is it. My only caveat here is a negative experience that I share to caution those with allergies. To be fair you should be taking care of yourselves at all times anyway: I helped myself to a bowl of soup that was clearly labelled cream of chicken. After eating the soup, the meat was clearly salmon. I alerted staff who looked into the soup, and then changed the label. Staff apologized repeatedly. No one is perfect, but this wasn't enough for me to colour my view of the place. I give this place 3 stars because the food is consistently ok.

I was extremely disappointed, the food was hard, and cold. The only thing that was edible was the mashed potatoes and gravy, and adobo pork. All the vegetables were very cold, and the chicken balls were hard like a hockey puck, the Chinese noodles were crunchy because they sat out too long. there was butter chicken but only I saw was fried rice until after I saw a rice cooker that had white rice in it. It wasn't labelled, and I was just being snoopy, and that's how I found out. I deeply regret spending that kinda money on a meal I was so unsatisfied with. The dessert section was disappointing as well. I will never go there again.

However, I didn't realize this location is in a seedy area of Edmonton until I saw questionable peeps loitering near the parking lot next to Travelodge. My cousin texted, "Where are you? We're here." I texted, "We are inside the restaurant." I didn't realize there's two different entrances. That's where gps led us. Best to park in the lot on the opposite side. Our Server was very helpful and offered to bring a separate menu in case we wanted an ala carte item. We're given water refills. Help yourself to various food stations. My faves were dim sum items and Deep Fried Steamed Buns w/ Condensed Milk. There were eight different ice cream flavors. Tiger tail and green tea ice cream were tasty, yet a little too soft. I loved the aesthetics of tea pot which worked in favor of keeping tea hot thanks to a mini candle. Also loved the tea which helped to cleanse my palate in between savory versus sweet. We love kbbq but it's very expensive here in Edmonton, and there are only two in the city. It's located in an inconspicuous (weird if you ask me) spot, in a neighbourhood in front of a school. Parking wasn't that difficult to get. Upon arriving we waited 10 minutes for our reservation and we got seated. The vibe and atmosphere of this place is very family-run-authentic. The meats are served buffet style and you grab your own drinks from the soda fountain. Sides of lettuce, salad (my personal fave- amazing vinaigrette to cut the meat), kimchi, bean sprouts, etc. There were also a few variety of fried items. My favorite was the shrimp chips. They also have fried rice but no white rice. Which leads me to my next point-- Service: AMAZING!! One of the older ladies saw my boyfriend and I mixing our fried rice and kimchi to make kimchi fried rice. She asked if we wanted some sesame oil and seaweed to put into our fried rice to make it more bokkeum-bap!! She came back with a bottle of sesame oil and mixed it in for us. The only downsides: They put a piece of parchment paper over the grill which kind of absorbs all the juice. The selection of meat is very limited as well. For 2 people not including our alcohol, it came to about $75 for AYCE. Not too bad considering it's the only other kbbq place in town. Will definitely be regulars!

Their selection is quite limited but they have all the essential items that are fairly fresh. However, I've had bad experiences here. When the staff lowered the grill temperature so it took longer to cook the meat, it didn't feel good, especially given that their time limit is shorter than other places. Moreover, when the staff urged us to eat more rice instead of meat, it just felt bad. Feeling judged while dining and leaving an AYCE on a half empty stomach is ...disappointing...I'd give them 4.5/10

Covid has been tough - they closed completely when dine in was shut down and are just starting to rebuild business (I don't think they do take out but I'm not 100%). It was completely dead when we were there, minus one other table - and they still kept filling the food with fresh items. They kind of fall under the radar, maybe because they're not as flashy as other places? But they are yummy with super nice people - if you're considering hotpot, it's worth checking out! A few things to note: it's one of the cheaper AYCE hotpots in the city (I think it was $26 + $2 for broth - other places are $35-40). AYCE only. I saw their online menu which has chicken heart, and they don't serve around. So we asked, and they did it JUST for us!!!!. Who doesn't like roast beef, shrimp and a chocolate fountain? The advertisements in the lobby looked good (see photo) and at $32 a head it's not an unfair price. Unfortunately just like the food at the Lion Head's pub, this Sunday Brunch was a poor experience where nothing was quite right. With one of the largest selections of choices at the buffet this brunch looks great on paper but unfortunately it's just not there for quality. Starting from the top 1. The Carving station is dry and they will not cut you any piece except from the end. When you leave a piece of meat under a heat lamp, it's going to get dry. When I left he was still serving off the same piece of dried meat. People coming in later were still getting the same piece of meat that was served for 2hrs. 2. The Eggs Benedict speaks for itself(look at the photos). Who leaves Eggs Benny's in a warming tray with sauce on? Gross. 3.There were 3 hot mashed mashed potato tureens. THREE! Who needs 3 choices of mashed potatoes. The problem was , none of them were good. Gluey, as you can imagine from having sat there for hours . 4. The Omelette station looks great, and we tried it and noticed immediately these were not fresh eggs. I asked the cook and she said, they use liquid egg unless you specifically ask for fresh egg. The biggest problem with the ATRIUM is that it survives off of the teams and hotel guests that stay there. It doesn't really have to try hard to do ok. If you live in the city skip this over priced version of a Buffet Royale. I'm giving it 2.5 stars. Why did it get 2 stars? Nothing stood out, not one piece of food Why did it not get 1 stars? Great Service Lots of Free parking around.
