We were there for Romeo and Juliet ballet. Alberta Ballet definitely did an amazing job and we enjoyed this version a lot. Beautiful and amazing performance! We came here to see the Nutcracker balleta few weeks before Christmas. It was superbly done, incredible dancers, incredible sets, special effects and costumes. The ESO was there to do all the music which was also amazing. I preordered drinks for the intermission, which I highly recommend if you are seeing anything here. You order before the performance starts and you pick up your drinks etc as soon as intermission starts. I'd never seen a ballet before, it was wonderful and I would love to go again. Pro tip for parking, don't park in the Jubilee parkade, it takes an hour to get out of after. Park anywhere else. read more

Five of us attended Shumka Nutcracker. We had floor seats, honestly there isn't a bad seat in the place. The Jubilee was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. There were Christmas trees and singing and people dressed so lovely. There are several bars to get a drink and large washrooms that were very clean. The performance was amazing. We all had a phenomenal time and enjoyed every moment of the show. read more

The South parkade is CASH ONLY. As of 01OCT2023, the cost is $6. Thankfully, we had cash on hand cause the website doesn't mention this anywhere on their website. The seats are roomy, at least on the main floor. I can't speak to the balconies. It was so nice not having to worry about touching legs with your seatmates. read more

Attended the Nuctcracker last night but I've been to this venue many times over the years. No matter what the event was for (music performances, graduations, opera or ballet), I've always enjoyed my time. Ticket prices of course range in cost for the event and seat location, so I don't go often unless it's for a special occasion or with a friend or group. For this event, I thought I had selected a seat location that was accessible (as there's a lot of stairs on both main and upper levels) but whether it was a system refresh I didn't catch or just plain user error on an old iPhone, I accidentally selected a spot with a bit more knee exercise than I anticipated. However it was an amazing view from the left balcony. I would definitely recommend it for those that don't have issues with stairs as in the past I've also been in a similar view for the opera years ago. As from that high up you get to spot the background changes as well as what's happening with the entertainment on the stage. I do warn you if your right against the balcony like where my random seat was, leg room and ability to shuffle by is less than in regular rows.. The facility is well maintained, bathrooms are a decent size and parking isn't a price going to break the bank and that includes being in the parkade (off to the side off the building). There are handicap spots directly out front but I noticed last night greatly the number was greatly reduced (the staff fully reserved parking was the majority). So the 5? spots were already filled when I got there. My advice if you're not able to get there really early and are slow moving like I am in winter with my cane, park in the parkade. There's more handicap parking options and if they're filled, at least there's an elevator to bring you to the ground level. From there you can enter from the back (where there's a ramp off to the side of the stairs). The elevator and escalator are easy to find as you walk in the door (in case you need the upper floor), as is coat check, the washrooms and usually a lovely display related to the event for pictures (this time it was the sleigh from the nutcracker). For this particular event during intermission there was a price for the professional to take a photo with the beautifully dressed up character from the nutcracker (I don't want to spoil all the fun with my review!) but after the show you could sit in the sleigh and take your own photos for free. The place is decorated with many beautiful Christmas trees and props to have pictures but we liked the biggest tree by the entrance to the parkade the best. Neat views of the university too from the upper floor and in spring you'll notice a lot of grads getting photos out front. For those that enjoy drinks at the events, both levels have bars but limited places to sit during intermission. However what's changed since last year is that you can now take your drinks into the event! So I happily enjoyed my gingerale I was treated to while watching the second half of the nutcracker. Few things that made it a 4 star experience for me. Instead of looking at my ticket first the attendant tried 6-7 times to scan, check machine, try scanning again for awhile then realized I was at the wrong location (yes, my fault that I had went to where I thought I had bought the ticket). As my seat was actually located upstairs, I had to double back for the escalator that was all the way across the venue and they were already calling for last seating. I felt very rushed and the attendants upstairs weren't notified I was trying to make my way but at least they hadn't officially closed the doors. As the place wasn't fully sold out and I obviously was struggling with the distance & then stairs, it was shocking to me that the upstairs attendant was insistent I sit all the way down in my paid ticket spot. However when I came back up during intermission I noticed extra chairs were set out for others that couldn't handle the stairs. Maybe I should have asked to talk to someone else but it did leave me with a bit of frustration and added a bunch of pain for my next day. The event itself was amazing and highly recommend seeing the nutcracker. Next time I buy a ticket though, I will make sure I do so on a computer instead of my phone. Definitely don't want to repeat those stairs until my knees are better. read more

I love the Jube! As a family, I appreciate the cleanliness and amenities including on site parking for things like the Wiggles, Dora, Backyardigans! The Jube is way more family friendly from the washrooms to the comfy couches for families with babes & tots in tow! They also have plenty of booster seats available. Whenever my toddler asks to go to a show, the first thing I check is to see if it's a the Jube! As an adult, I have thoroughly enjoyed the seating options (love the mezzanine balcony), lighting, and sound. My most recent concert here was the Goo Goo Folks last month. The staff are always friendly - I'm not sure I can say a single bad thing about the venue itself! Three cheers for the Jubilee Auditorium! read more

My impression of this music/theatre/show/etc. venue tends to depend entirely on what I'm doing when I'm there. I've convocated here 4 times and the experience has been wonderful. I've been to quite a few Broadway Across Canada shows here and they've been a mixed bag: while the sightlines are generally great no matter where you sit, I highly dislike being too far from the stage as I am short and my eyesight is imperfect at a distance. This means that if someone too tall sits in front of me I have to crane my head or contort my body to see around them which is entirely not fun. Generally I like to sit in the front rows on the floor so as to see better, though this does provide the disadvantage of not seeing operatic subtitles along with other information that is less visible from this angle. Acoustics here are generally good but I've been to a concert or two where this has not been the case OR where the sound was simply not appropriate for the seating area I was in. Generally the audience is well-behaved, but I've been to an event or two where ushers really should have stepped in to keep order and allowed others to truly enjoy the show we were at. Well located, with easy access from the LRT and with parking garages and lots nearby, it is easy to get here. It is even at a short walk from the University of Alberta main campus, so you can definitely do several events here too. Restaurants for a pre-show bite to eat tend to be at a bit of a distance on foot but are certainly available. Coat check and bar service depends entirely on the event that is going on, but is often worth it if available. Bar service tends to be pricey as does merch at a show, but there are exceptions! I always forget that there are escalators between the floors and usually take the stairs instead if I'm located on the first or second balconies. read more

So here I find myself about to watch Dear Evan Hansen. Yep I'm going to sit through two and a half hours of a musical...I hate musicals but I'm keeping an open mind. The stage is set up amazingly, music is top notch with the live musicians off in the corner and lighting is spot on. The auditorium is super clean and the temperature is comfortable. Perfect scene to take in this musical. Well two and a half hours later the show was amazing and it's time to funnel our way out in the crowd. The only down side I have to say is that parkade takes forever to clear out. By forever I mean it took thirty minutes to get out from the third level. All in all the parkade still didn't do enough to dampen my spirits to ruin the experience of the show. Highly recommend watching a show or concert here! read more

We had tickets for Mean GiRLS Saturday Jan 13. We hit the line for a couple beverages. Nothing was pre-poured. There were only two servers behind the counter. It took forever. They could increase productivity by having some of the drinks pre-poured and easily accessible. We tried during the intermission to get another drink, and were unable to, as the line was too long. We sat in the first balcony. The sound was awful. We could not make out all of the words that were being said between songs. Missed a lot of the show not going able to hear. I have attended a number of musicals at the Jubilee and have tried out various location in the theatre. My favourite has go to be on the first balcony. The location gives great overview of the whole stage and sound is usually perfect! However, because of the way the theatre is set up, there really aren't any seats where your view is too terrible or obstructed and it's more a matter of preference. When attending shows, I generally park at the Education car park to avoid the traffic lf th e parkade both coming and going and because the Education parkade is just across the street. read more

Managed to catch Edmonton Opera's production Aida here back in October. The facility is almost identical to the Southern Alberta Jubilee. The acoustics are excellent. We were first balcony, third row and could hear the show crystal clear. Seats were comfy and the translation screen read very well from where we were. Parking was $6, but you will need to be patient while clearing out. I would suggest parking your car rear first because it helps with blending into the exit line as things can get tight when everyone is trying to get out. read more

My favourite place to see a show. The acoustics are great. But getting out of the parking arcade is brutal. I'd recommend trying to park elsewhere. There's lots of bathrooms and they're always clean. The lines at concession and coat check are fairly quickly moving. Merchandise sales people travel with the shows so you can't blame the venue for how terribly those lines are managed. The Jube is a great venue for a show or concert! We came to see Michael Jackson impersonator, Kenny Wizz, put on his show of dancing and singing. Usually I sit on the balcony but this time our free tickets were on the floor section in right centre. Being a few rows from the back, I wasn't sure was the sight line was like but I had no issues seeing the stage (except when the woman in front was dancing). I would sit on the floor again! There are 2 sets washrooms on the main floor and also on the 2nd floor. They get busy during intermission so I recommend waiting until some of the crowd has gone out. Also, they have a bar for drinks and often one souvenir area in the middle of the front lobby. There are tvs outside the theatre so if you don't have a ticket to get in, you can sit and enjoy a free show! I worked one summer selling souvenirs for Phantom and it was great if we wanted to enjoy the show from the lobby area, although I got tired of hearing the chandelier crash every night! read more

I've been coming to the Jube for pretty well my entire adult time and have seen numerous acts here over the years including the Wiggles, Goo Goo Dolls, Steve Earle, and of course, the Edmonton Opera. The Jube has everything you need including a reasonably priced attached parking garage. So it's relatively painless, even in -30 weather, unlike Rexall. From fancy to casual, this place covers it all. The only thing I miss is taking your drink to your seat. read more

I've been to the jube several times for touring musical productions. My High School also had our grad ceremony here, and I was lucky enough to get to sing on stage, although that was before the renovations. The jubilee is a decent sized auditorium. I love the stadium seating, it's really hard to get a bad seat here - unless someone who's super tall sits in front of you. There are two balconies. The first balcony is really great, but I find the higher balcony harder to see from. The lobby is nicely decorated, with lots of local art. The drinks here are overpriced, so I tend to just go out somewhere after the show. The bathrooms are always clean, but get really busy. I don't like how the soap is integrated into the faucet system (unless that's been changed recently). It just means you're never 100% sure how clean your hands are, or your left with that soapy residue on them. As far as acoustics go for the audience they are great. The sound is quite good, and you won't have a problem hearing anything. I can say when I sang here I found the accoustics weren't great - this is for those performing, not the audience. But perhaps they were able to make some improvements with renovations. Still acoustically I don't think it compares to the Winspear Centre. Paid parking is available, but harder to come by with all the construction going on in the area. I would recommend taking the LRT where possible. The jubilee is a nice theatre in Edmonton, although it certainly doesn't have a classic feel to it, the way a theatre in New York would. Still unless your here for a rock concert I'd recommend getting dressed up. Nothing formal, just something nice. I always hate when I see people with ripped jeans and grubby t-shirts. Why not put on something clean if you're going for a night out? read more

The Jube is the ideal venue for concerts. Violet P and I saw many shows here; Jackson Browne, Brian Wilson, Neil Young, and other stuff. The seating is spacious and ideal with a fresh view of the stage from anywhere in the house. The sound is crisp, warm, and clear. The Jube is constructed like an old-style theatre so it provides an air of comfort and intimacy between the audience and the performer that cannot be achieved in an arena setting. Places like Rexall are an abomination for concerts. I've never been here for a function like a graduation or an awards ceremony so I can't comment on how those turn out. I went to the Jubilee Auditorium to watch the opera: Mary Strauss. The auditorium is stunning! There is indeed a reason why opera is performed here :) They have coat check and also some area to buy some snacks. There is another station where you can buy wine, water, beer and cocktails. On the second floor, they have two additional stations for drinks; those you can actually pre-order for the intermission so you don't have to line up. You will need to get there with some time in advance so you park, walk to the theater, get your drink and be ready to take your seat before the show starts. So plan to arrive at least 20 mins before the show. Parking can be a little difficult... If you leave your car right in the parkade, it will take you a while to get in and get out... I usually park on a different parking lot, even if it farther it will actually take me less time to leave :) You could also take the LRT if you prefer, it is very conveniently located in the same area... it is a short 5 mins walk read more

I love coming to the Jubilee auditorium. It has a great, calm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are always very friendly, helpful and polite which is important for me. I came to watch the movie Amadeus while the ESO played live music. It was a wonderful experience and I love Mozarts music. Wait what? I was pretty sure I had reviewed the Jube already. Guess not! Well, I don't have a bad thing to say. I have attended many performances here, and sat in many different sections. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house. The acoustics and lighting and all that jazz are incredible too. I love walking around before the show and taking in the buzz. There is such an energy before the show it is so incredible. There's drinks and snacks available for purchase and a coat check as well. I do take advantage of the coat check in the winter because nobody wants their bulky coat on the seat with them. Parking can be tricky, but there are plenty of other lots within walking distance and the LRT stops very close as well. I always opt to park in the Jube's parking lot, and just make sure I get there early enough to get a spot on the first two levels so I can get out quickly after the show. read more

Oh my gosh, the Jubilee! How have I not written a review of the Jubilee yet? I've been to countless events at the "Jube." An intimate Tragically Hip concert (Could there be anything better than Gord Downie jumping into the crowd and bizarrely interacting with concert-goers? Nope!), as many Broadway Across Canada shows as my bank account can handle, and many a University of Alberta convocation. The sound is flawless, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. I love the jubilee. The stage is pristine and view is absolutely spectacular! As a performer this venue is amazing! The stage is huge and the flooring is wonderful to dance on! As an audience member I love that you can see the stage from just about anywhere. I would have to say that my favourite seats are on the terrace! I love that the LRT runs right beside the Jubilee as it makes it even more convenient that finding a parking stall. Like the slogan goes: It's All At The Jube! And it really, truly is! This phenomenal, world class venue, in my opinion, could not be any better. Perfectly situated on the University Campus, easily accessible by car and LRT, with the new car park making getting in and out a breeze. And that's before you even walk in the doors! The fabulous, chic lobby made me feel like a Princess as a child, and as an adult, sipping prosecco during intermission, I still feel like one. From the marble floors to the leather settees to the luxe carpeting and absolutely stunning art work; you know you are about to watch something really spectacular if it is being played with these walls. The auditorium itself is breathtaking: From the loges to the orchestra pit, the sound and view point from pretty much every seat in the house is fantastic. Then there are the basement private rooms that host pre-event cocktail parties where the who's who mix and mingle - "Was that the Mayor talking to the Yelp Girl?" Yes, yes it was! From the phenomenal Edmonton Opera, extraordinary Alberta Ballet and all the wonderful Broadway Across Canada shows as well as the many, many performances the Jube sees, one thing is for sure: I will always be back soon. And I so very thankful and humbled for having the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium in this great city. May the show go on.... read more

I'm lucky to have seen a few cool shows at the Jubilee. Book of Mormon, Ringo Starr, Primus and recently Ryan Adams. All very different musical events so I feel like I have a good perspective on this place. We sat in different areas each time, from the 2nd row, to the mezzanine the sound can't be faulted. And thats what it's all about really. This place is well loved in the Edmonton community and I can see why. Other than attracting awesome shows and events... the seats are comfy and it's well laid out so you have a decent view no matter where you sit. The bar prices can be a bit steep but that's to be expected. They don't offer a huge drink menu but I get it - they gotta keep that line moving swiftly before the show starts. The staff are always helpful and take the time to make sure you know where you are sitting. Your enjoyment is always paramount and that's pretty cool by me. It's not a rock n roll venue, it's classy, family friendly and always ensures a good time. read more

I've frequented the Jube for various Broadway shows and I've always enjoyed my time here. I'm a big fan of upholstered seats - there's nothing worse than sitting in a chair for hours and then having to rip your leg apart from it when you stand up. The seating is all very good. You have a clear view of the stage wherever you are (unless you're super short like me and can't see over normal sized people's heads). The sound system, however, isn't always the best. Many of the plays that I've been to have had the vocals being slightly overpowered by the music, which makes it very difficult to hear what the actors are saying and frustrating when you can't fully understand what's going on due to being unable to decipher what's being sung. I love the bathrooms. Full length mirrors are wonderful for the ladies who get dolled up to go - makes it easier to check if your dress is tucked into your panties. The service is good. The beverages and food are ridiculously overpriced though. Parking is available in the garage and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It does take forever to get out of there though. read more

We came here for Alberta Ballet. The venue and staff are always top notch! Very professional, helpful, the facilities spectacular! The acoustics are phenomenal ! I wish however the seats were a little more comfortable and we had more leg room. I'm an average size, maybe a little larger than average (6'1" & 220 lbs ) and I'm uncomfortable after 45 min on a good day. You can't shift in your seat without disturbing 4 people around you. Can't cross you legs unless you just came from a yoga class or are a contortionist! read more

Went to the Jube to see Stuart McLean's Vinyl Cafe! This is the best way to kick off the Holiday Season. Funny! Intelligent! Great music with Reid Jamieson et al. The Jube as a venue is also beautiful with the redone flooring and seats! It's a wonderful venue and compliment to Winspear. We're so fortunate in Edmonton to have great arts venues. The only challenge with the Jube is the parking. It can take a while to get out of their parkade but that parkade is a wonderful addition in the last few years. Man I love Edmonton and our Arts scene! If you're stuck in a restaurant only life for experiencing Edmonton please get out and enhance your love through the Arts! read more

Seinfeld was awesome! This was our latest event attended at "The Jube". I don't think there is a bad seat in the house when attending either a musical performance or a stand-up comic one. Best advice I could give you is to pre-buy your intermission drink before the performance even starts. Then, during intermission, all you have to do is pick it up.This is a much shorter lineup! Best advice I could give to the Jubilee Auditorium staff... please refurbish the seats. We were 4 people and we all agreed that the first balcony seats are very uncomfortable. read more

I love the Jubilee. I've been to the Jubilee for numerous concerts and they've all been amazing. The acoustics in this building are unbelievable. Nothing ever gets distorted! The music can be so loud that you think your glasses might shatter, but it always sounds clear and crisp. It's incredible. As far as seating goes, you can't get a bad seat at the Jubliee because there aren't any. Every seat has a great view and non of them seem far away. Although the auditorium can seat over 2000 people, it still manages to have an intimate feel to it. It's hard to explain. It makes you feel special just to be there. The atmosphere is great too. Everyone gathers in one place to share the experience of the something they love. And everyone is respectful of that. I really appreciate that fact about the Jubliee and its attendees. I usually dress up when I go to the Jubliee because it's somewhat of an enchanting place. And, let's face it, I'm a girl - we love to get dressed up! If you have never experienced a play of a concert at the Jubliee, I definitely recommend going for something. It's always a great time and a memorable experience. read more

The Jubilee auditorium is the largest theatre in Edmonton by far and after their renovations, it is one of the nicest too. The lobby is large and open and there is a concession which is open for all big events. There are usually bars on each balcony and on the main floor to get yourself a glass of wine during intermission too. The backstage area is very large with two floors of dressing rooms and a dance studio downstairs. My only complaint is that the new seats seem closer together making it impossible to cross or uncrossed your legs without kicking someone in the head. They are also not as soft as they used to be. read more

I enjoy the seating and layout of this theatre. Even if you're in the furthest balcony, you have a decent view. It's a nice date night or night out with friends. An excuse to dress up. I just went to a showing of the Book of Mormon and it was fucking hilarious! The singing, dancing, acting, props were fantastic. I always enjoy coming here for a show. read more

I have attended many concerts and events at the Jubilee and was lucky enough to see the Edmonton Opera's production of Lucia Di Lammermoor on Saturday night. Whether you sit on the floor or in the balcony, there is never a bad seat in the house and the acoustics are absolutely awesome! For the Opera, the translation screen over the stage was still easy to read and made the production more enjoyable as I was able to understand what was being sung. The attached parking garage makes parking easy and since it is so close to the university, LRT access is easy as well. I highly recommend pre-buying your intermission drinks so you can just enjoy them vs standing in a line to buy them. read more

Alright, so I am struggling with my review for this. So, I am going to go straight down the middle. I had a wonderful time when I went to see Phantom of the Opera. I had seen it before at the Jubilee back in 2006. There had been some changes since then. One of them being you can now bring your drinks into the theatre with you if you ask for the plastic cups(COOL!!). So, you don't have to down your drinks quickly. I, also, find that no matter where you sit in the theatre it's amazing. You can see and you will enjoy no matter what. I've sat on all levels and enjoyed every where I've sat. The only thing I wish, was the cushions on the seats were a little better and if the seats where a little higher up the back, like the movie theatre seats. So, I had this as a 5 star until I had spoken to a really great friend of mine who had the worst experience with customer service here. He was suppose to see Phantom and bought the season tickets for this. He had wonderful seats, and is the BIGGEST fan. We had discussed him going on a different day than I was and he was just ecstatic. Well, unfortunately, the date he thought he was going is this upcoming Sunday, and then he went to make sure his tickets were on ticketmaster and when he went to see, nothing was there. He did buy these 3 months ago, and I am not taking the blame off him at all... but he was suppose to see the show yesterday. Boo! He missed it. Well, he called everywhere and just the customer service he received from the Jubilee was horrendous. He asked if there was anything they could do for him and they said "not unless you pay for other tickets".... well I understand this, but why not fill the theatre (my opinion)... and then after explaining that he can't afford after buying the season tickets, he basically got a "too bad" and was hung up on. I have been doing customer service long enough to know you do not hang up on anyone. At least try to be helpful, and explain everything, but do not hang up. Like I said, I don't replace his blame for not checking his tickets but I don't like hearing bad customer service when a little empathy goes a long way. read more

Oh wow....so much for "auto correct". What I meant to write was "Onward and forward to the FEUD!" Yes, we saw Lucia di Lammeloor at the Jube last night. It was Opening Night :-) I would like to give the Jube a 3.5, in light of a coupe of things.... The Jube is a "handsome" venue, if I can use that word. Very classic. In terms of the seating, there is no "bad" seat as you can see the stage from every vantage point. That there is space on each floor area for people to get something to drink without going to the main floor is a very nice plus. They also have a small variety of "munchies" (for lack of a better term) to purchase at the bar areas. Truth be told, this is something I don't understand since if we are drinking wine and such, why is there nothing like a "bread and cheese" box one can purchase or a small serving of nuts (this is a similar query I have about the Winspear)? There are also bathrooms on each floor (thank goodness or the lines would be even longer than they are--this for every theatre venue though, not exclusive to the Jube). My only disappointment was the acoustics :-( which when seeing an opera are key. In fact, I remember this being the case many years ago when I went to see the Alberta based opera, Filumena. I found myself at times straining to make sure I could hear the singers as they recounted to us their tale (and the cast was VERY good...the sound quality didn't do them justice). We were on the First Balcony so perhaps this makes a difference? The other interesting thing the Jube provides is a screen above the stage that "translates" some of the music as it is sung. I am unsure if they do it for all the operas or just for those that are not as well known (like for Carmen, for example). For purists, I feel this could be very distracting as your eye finds itself going to the screen as it flashes the phrasing at different times of the opera (the translation is very selective as it seems to do it to help set up the context of the scene). The set and stage design for Lucia di Lammeloor was VERY attractive in that it kept your attention :-)! In fact, the opening scene catches you by surprise as it is totally unexpected given how the stage scenery and lighting is set for it. The costumes were beautiful and everyone glided through as we watched such a "wretched" and sad tale unfold. One thing I haven't mentioned, since it is hard to interject is the parking. The Jube has a parkade. However, it seems that there is one way in and one way out....if there is a fender bender in the "line" within which you find yourself, you can only imagine how long it will take to get out. We were waiting about 15 minutes WITHOUT moving (really) when we decided (by luck we were last in the line) to manuever and get into the other line actually moving its way down to the exit. I looked at our car clock. We started at 10:47 and got out of the parkade by 11:17. The upside? Parking was FREE :-) Will we be going again? Perhaps to see another opera in the near future....and we'll be getting different seats to see how the sound travels :-) read more

It's always a good time at the Jube! The Jube is a beautiful, spacious and always provides a great experience for viewing incredible performances. It feels like there are a ton of seats but every seat is the best seat in the house. At the same time, it feels so intimate and small. The staff are always wonderful - whether they're taking your ticket, selling you water or liquor, checking your coat or giving you guidance on where you can find your seat, they are always extremely pleasant and professional. I love a great washroom and the washrooms on the main floor are huge, bright and well maintained. There are washrooms available upstairs as well, which is extremely convenient. They are a lot smaller though - but still clean and bright, although not as updated as the ones on the main floor. I love the on site parking and appreciate that sometimes parking is complimentary as well! That's always a nice bonus. My only challenge is that at 5'11", I find the leg room to be minimal. Other than that, the seats themselves are very comfortable and it's always enjoy whatever I'm watching. This venue has greatly improved in the last 5 or more years it's acoustics and sound system. It is a beautiful space that holds many different kinds of events. It mostly showcases concerts, musical theater shows, the opera, the ballet as well as commencement ceremonies for high school and post secondary grads. I have had the privilege of attending each of the events that I mentioned above. Upon entry you are welcomed by a grand entrance with high ceilings and marble pillars as well as cushy seats near the entrance to the auditorium. The seating inside is comfortable, the staff are always helpful and there is usually a bar open before and at intermission to get a drink (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Be prepared to pay a little more for your beverage than you normally would. It is easy to navigate and there are washrooms on every floor with the exception of the second balcony seating. They also provide a coat check if you do not wish to take your jacket with you. My only complaint is parking in their parkade since it is a bit of gong show. The line up to get out of there once a show has ended is painfully long and slow. Luckily, there are other parkades near by on university campus and the LRT is just a block away. If you are able to come here for an event, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy! read more
