Stopped in to try today at the food truck festival. We ended up getting 2 scoop cups and a milkshake. The ice cream was really good, and the scoop sizes are excellent! They have an assortment of flavors and the staff is very nice. It has an old time feel and is very clean. Cons- the google page has old pictures from the previous owner that they no longer have. The milkshake was very milk tasting and not very thick. We will be back to try some different things! Look out for the next review! read more

The family that owns this shop is so incredibly nice. This shop has become a family favorite quickly. I'm here weekly. I am very certain in my ways and they have a French cruller that they make care that is absolutely perfect. It's probably the best one I've ever had. The shop is so cute and inviting. They have an actual bathroom that is always clean. I have not had any of their ice cream selections, but I have had their cold brew and they do have several sugar-free options which is nice. This is a local owned business so a great opportunity to support some great people and your community at the same time. read more

We have visited quite a few times in the last few months. Each time we've visited, there's been something less than good. For example, there were bugs in our shaved ice. I tried to contact the store via phone and Facebook messenger but no one answered. Today they gave me white milk with a hint of coffee for my cold brew. I've been very disappointed in them recently and each time I go I hope for better. read more

Local owned ice cream and donuts shop in Port Royal. They make the donuts there not sure about the ice cream but I can say the dark chocolate ice cream was good. Ridiculously over priced basic run of the mill everything.. Can't believe what they charge.. If another ship with decent ice cream opens this place will go under with these prices.. Whew! The donuts here are exceptional! I'd give my left arm for some of their chocolate that covers the donuts. Today I also had that chocolate on a brownie. Oh.my.word. Here is the deal: -they can and will sell out of the donuts each day. -Check FB for their daily selection before going. -They also have ice cream, Popsicles (locally made by another entrepreneur), kettle corn (the bomb.com and also made by another entrepreneur, macaroons, merch., and more I love that they support other local entrepreneurs and are super friendly. We love seeing Port Royal bloom with new local businesses and Maynard's was one we hadn't visited. Saturday morning we were on our way to Bluffton so we decided to stop in for their donuts. The selection was meh. We ordered a glazed yeast donut and a glazed red velvet cake one. The plain donut was OK. The red velvet tasted of only sugar. The second I broke it apart so I could share the sweet, I could tell it didn't have a moist crumb. It was so dry, with no discernible chocolate flavor. I LOVE great donuts. I've had some of the best donuts in the world. In my opinion, Texas has the best, with Denver coming in a close second. THE BEST donuts in the low country is Maynard's Ice Cream & Cafe. a Cozy cafe, that has both HAND DIPPED ice cream, soda's, but UNBELIEVABLE DONUTS!! The hours can be tricky, so I advise you call to see if they're open. They're currently getting ready to expand, and extend their hours. You just want to sit down and eat great donuts. I've had donuts from a competitor which were good, however the mix wasn't just right. But, Maynards wins hands down! Finally, a delicious normal glaze donut! I don't have to eat dry subpar donuts from Dunkin anymore. Also, reg black coffee is a plus. It's the simple things in life that make some of us happy. Charming Ice Cream and doughnut shop in Port Royal. Several choices of creamy ice cream and tons of topping choices. I had the mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream ice cream with Oreo topping and was so creamy. My husband had the Blueberry Cream Pie milkshake and it was thick and tasty! We also grabbed a few doughnuts and they were so fresh and full of flavor. They are baked daily by the owner. The couple who owns the shop are very friendly as well. Donuts are good and I appreciate it is vet owned. As for the ice cream I was disappointed as they literally give the smallest scoop possible and charged $4.00 plus another .50 for the cone. I get inflation but that's a bit much. I definitely won't be back for ice cream, not worth it. The baked good are delicious. read more

We stopped by Maynard's after taking a walk on Sands Beach and the board walk. Ordered a moose tracks milk shake and a watermelon lime pop. Customer service was exceptional and the ice cream really hit the spot! They serve Palmetto Pops and they're definitely worth a try. The chocolate cake and the apple pastry we had were both delicious. They were sold out of donuts when we got there but the desserts were so good we decided to go back there today. No luck today though as they don't open til 12. Donuts will have to wait til next time. read more

I spent more than I should have after seeing firsthand how rude the cashier was. It was obvious she was more than bothered by our presence in there. I held out hope that the barista would make up for her rudeness but I was sadly mistaken. He handed us our drinks and numbly told us to stir it with a straw. I definitely regret stopping in. It's a shame, they have a super cute shop that looks like it has the potential to be a charming low country spot. Instead, it's a very unwelcoming, overpriced regrettable experience. It's the lack of appreciation from employees at small businesses like this that drive me to seek out the bigger chain coffee stores where they at least act like they appreciate my hard earned dollar.

The cider was fine, but not special - wouldn't make a special trip for it. It seems that most of the business there was for coffee, sometimes with a pastry -- and the pastries did look good, I wish I'd had one rather than the quiche I got.

We both tried coffee off of their seasonal menu - I had a 16oz iced Orange Cream latte, and my husband had a hot 16oz Cookie Butter latte. We also had the Brekkie sandwich and Avocado Toast with a fried egg and bacon. We both found our lattes to be extraordinarily sweet. Although the house made syrups had excellent flavor, they were too sweet for us. I ended up adding a third shot to my 16oz iced Orange Cream (which they did at no charge!) to dilute the sweet of the syrup. My husband is not the type to request changes to his order, so he drank his coffee as is (although he could have benefited from an extra shot in his coffee as well). If you are someone looking for a less sweet option, I would check with the barista before ordering a normal amount of syrup at this coffee shop. I definitely would have benefited from asking for 1/2 sweet. Also, the 16oz iced and 24oz iced do not have a difference in coffee shot amount. Rather, the 24oz adds more milk to your latte. Just a warning for those who like more than two shots and think that's what they're getting by ordering the larger cup. The ambience inside is adorable. It matches its name perfectly.

I saw cannolis listed so I got one to go. So excited I took a bite once I was in the car. This has to be the worst cannoli I have ever eaten. I don't understand it. Thankfully it was still cold so food poisoning won't occur. What I think happened was someone's idea what they think a cannoli is. The shell was correct. The filling was white with mini chocolate chips. But after that no way any of the ingredients used were correct. I did Facebook messenger to let them know. They responded and said next time they are there I can get another on them? On them I just am glad I didn't throw up. It was a waste of $5. I will not be back.
