Fearing an intestinal blockage, we searched for a veterinary practice that was open. As the Prescott Area Pet Emergency Hospital had closed effective 6/15/20, we brought him Chino Valley Animal Hospital. Enter our guardian angel, office manager, 15-year employee and obviously dedicated animal lover, Renee. When a "meatball" laced with Acepromazine failed to adequately sedate him, Renee calmly and patiently sat with me and a crated Marcus, and over the space of more than 20 minutes and 3 syringes administered on on a pole through the slots in the crate, she was ultimately successful in getting Marcus sedated enough to be examined. Fortunately, X-rays revealed no blockage (though he ultimately expelled a number of plum pits from the tree on our property that no doubt irritated his intestinal tract) but Marcus was dehydrated from the vomiting and diarrhea and we wanted to be sure he was fully stabilized and hydrated before bringing him home. Renee stepped up again and agreed to care for our dog personally. She updated us on his condition later that day and informed us again the next day when it was deemed he had recovered enough to go home safely. Marcus is fully recovered. So grateful!

Although there was supposed to be a previously arranged accommodation, when an emergency came up they stopped that arrangement as I was about to come in and did not even realize they needed to have a back up accommodation so as not to put the person [me] in danger. Instead they wanted me to wait in an area potentially lethal to me. That is lack of staff education to read the client's file and know what is going on. Expecting a disabled person to wait in a dangerous situation while they figure out their incompetence is not acceptable. disability discrimination bigotry. worse yet the so-called manager denied the existence of the disability [respiratory triggered by chemicals they use] claiming there were no chemicals in the air [chemical wipes? air fresheners? plug-in type air treatment? chemical closet odors adjacent to the lobby?], retaliated over my protests trying to explain while adversely triggered by threatening to call the police and refusing future service. Disability discrimination big time. Had they accommodated instead of saying I needed to wait in a dangerous [to me] area, none of this nastiness would have happened. They were not even aware of the need to accommodate despite prior arrangement to do so! SO beware!

Extreme Positive on Circle L Animal Hospital Chino Valley AZ…read moreMy Patti Paige Dakota (Braque Du Bourbonnais , French Hunting dog) was diagnosed with bone cancer early 2025 at age 11 ... ..... We did no cancer treatments since it would not have been good for her physically other than giving her some pain meds........ Early one morning last July 2025 she unusually woke me up early and wanted to go outside and she just watched birds and nature for about an hour before she looked at me and I could feel in her face and eyes she was telling me it was time for her to leave us...... I called Shawna at Circle L Animal Hospital and asked if the vet could come to my vehicle and Shawna said "Of Course" and for me to call when we arrived... I parked as directed at the private door and Shawna came out immediately and talked with Patti for about 5 minutes and I could see that Patti bonded with her and then the vet came to Patti's passenger side of the vehicle... The Vet gave Patti a shot to tranquilize and immediately another shot for sleep .... Patti was gone almost immediately ..... It is never easy losing a pet but Circle L personnel treated Patti like their own and made a very difficult day as positive as possible...... I think it is important to know my experience with Circle L when you may have to make that very difficult choice.....

When we had to call her again because our old mare could not get up, she again came right out, gave us her honest but difficult opinion, and helped our beloved horse over the rainbow bridge with grace and dignity. Her bedside manner is excellent, her team are very professional yet extremely human and genuine in how they help their clients and owners, whether its calling daily to check on the patients or asking how the owners are doing, to giving me a hug after the hard decisions are made. I will not use any other equine vet out here, if I can help it at all. They are the best. Honestly. I have been in horses for a LONG time, been with MANY vets, and even tho I have had my favorites in the past, and I still consider them 5* vets, Dr. Dickenson and her team have them beat. After seeing other vets and being told it was just allergies, Dr. Darling immediately recognized from her years of experience that it was actually an autoimmune issue just by examining our dog's nose. Because of her accurate diagnosis, we now understand what's going on and know how to properly manage and treat it. The entire clinic has been incredibly kind, helpful, and compassionate throughout the whole process. They truly care about their patients and take the time to explain everything and make you feel supported. We're beyond thankful to have found such a knowledgeable and caring veterinary team. Highly recommend!

Last week I took one half of a bonded pair of elder Brussel Griffons in and he proved to have serious complications from bad teeth and was not a good surgery candidate. He suddenly passed away in my arms two days after that appointment. I am so glad the vet found what was wrong beforehand and I wasn't blindsided by his death. Today I called for his brother who had suddenly stopped eating and was lethargic and was given an appointment within TWENTY MINUTES. The poor little furry dustmop was dead when the tech tried to take him from the carrier. I can not say enough good things about the care myself and my dogs have received from Mile Hi. Although I wish there had been more years with the little guys, they are buried under the same tree and will have eternity together gamboling through the meadows. Every member of Mile Hi has been caring and wonderful for every visit I've had with them - good outcome or not so good outcome. And they have been easy on my wallet. I have used three other vet services in my 15+ years here in Prescott, and Mile Hi is the best by far.

That day we were heart broken and I knew we would want to keep our little girl with us. So, off to yelp to look for an answer. Our girl was only given 2 months to live, 3 years ago due to a severely enlarged heart that she was born with. Although we knew her days with us were numbered, we didn't have a plan... we just knew we would cremate her. I called here and got pricing and a general idea and we brought Lucy in. They have a "family room" as I call it and I placed Lucy in there to say our last goodbyes to our sweet angel. When we were getting the arrangements, I wanted my mom and me to have a moment so we did the paw prints and a clipping of her hair. The paw prints were perfect and they picked the cutest blend of fur at her ears where she had a beautiful blend of her red and black. Our sweet little girl came back home a week or so later, I can't remember exactly, but it was quicker than a human cremation. All in all, even though we were heartbroken over losing our baby girl, we were thankful places like this exist to give a dignified end to a perfect baby. Thank you. I think all together it was less than $300 for everything including all the mementos we requested. I dread the day we loose another fur baby, but when that day comes back to haunt us, we will come back here. Again, if you have been led to this, I am sorry for your loss, but you are in excellent hands if you choose to cremate your baby here. They were very respectful and compassionate.
