Caring place! We recently visited Cottonwood with our dogs…read more On a hike, one of dogs appeared to badly injure his paw. Bad luck on a Saturday, the busiest day for veterinarians, and we were out-of-towners to boot! After making a few calls, Verde Vet Hospital was kind enough to squeeze us in. The closer we got to appointment time, the better our dog appeared to be, but we went anyway just as a double-check and courtesy to the hospital. Dr. Gummo-Wagner could not have been kinder, and immediately focused on putting my nervous dog at ease. She carefully checked his foot and joints, and surmised it was most likely a fire-ant bite. We were a bit chagrined, but the good doctor and the staff told us they were glad we had him checked. If I lived here, would definitely take my dog to this vet and this clinic. Great experience for an out-of-towner! Thank you to the staff and good doctor!

We trusted Verde Veterinary Hospital with USDA export health certificates for our dog and cat for…read morean international move to Germany. That trust turned into a costly and stressful failure. The certificates were initially submitted to USDA with the wrong year, which made them invalid for endorsement. This error went unnoticed for an entire week, while our departure date approached with no meaningful update or communication from the office. The issue was only discovered on the day of our scheduled international departure, and only after persistent follow-up by our pet transport company--not the veterinary office. From there, the handling continued to fall short: The corrected certificates were not resubmitted until after 5:00 PM, costing an additional full day. Despite clear instructions from our transport coordinator, the office used FedEx Priority Overnight (10:30 AM delivery) instead of First Priority (8:30 AM guaranteed)--a critical difference given airline cargo cutoff times. This directly caused major travel disruption: one pet only made the second rebooked flight because the transport company secured a last-minute exception with Lufthansa after the paperwork arrived past the cargo cutoff. The other pet's paperwork did not arrive in time, forcing us to split up and rebook a third flight for the following day. We incurred significant financial and logistical damages: Missed international departure Multiple flight rebookings and change fees Extended hotel stays near LAX Rental vehicle extensions Additional baggage complications Family separation during an international move One pet made the flight only because of extraordinary efforts by the transport company. The other missed due to delayed paperwork. Communication from the office was poor throughout. Staff repeatedly indicated they could not act without the veterinarian, leaving us in limbo during a time-sensitive international relocation. Mistakes can happen--but failing to detect a critical submission error for a week, delaying corrective action, and then mishandling time-sensitive shipping is not acceptable when clients are relying on you for international travel compliance. I cannot recommend this practice for USDA export documentation.

I have been going to Dr. Celeste Flannery for 26 years. I would follow her wherever she goes so…read morethat my Pets have exceptional care at a high level. She is one of the only Veterinarians in the Verde Valley (that I know of) that travels to work in Phoenix at Specialty Hospitals to keep abreast of the latest medical procedures, diagnostics and treatments available! The Staff at the Airpark Animal Hospital is a well trained group of Individuals that I feel comfortable communicating with if Dr Flannery is not available! Dr. Flannery started out in Cottonwood at Cherry Street Veterinary Clinic. We first met her at that Hospital among other Vets. It didn't take long before she was the MOST REQUESTED VET there. She then went to Anthem Veterinary Hospital before opening Airpark Animal Hospital. I drove to Anthem to have her care for my Yorkies !!! She is your Pets advocate and will tell you what the best option is for your Pet's Medical care. If you are of the TYPE that doesn't want to put in the effort, (time & money), she will still advocate for your Pet! Dr. Flannery is familiar with specialists in the Phoenix area, having worked with many of them. I feel confident in any referrals made by her! The Airpark Staff is well trained, responsive, caring, well managed and friendly! I have known many of them for years!!! I see on this YELP page some individuals that are responding with 5 year old complaints! It seems if it were my Pet that I thought did not get quality care, I would have " CARED ENOUGH" to have addressed it 5 YEARS AGO"! I lost a Dog years ago from mismanagement of vaccines and medications prescribed by Cherry Street (after Dr Flannery left) and filled at OSCO. The Vets are no longer practicing there & OSCO, well, is now a CVS! YOU COULD HEAR ME FROM THE RAFTERS TELLING ANYONE THAT WOULD LISTEN!!! I filed complaint with the State Pharmacy Board and Veterinary Board as well made it well known in the Verde Valley as to the sloppy& reckless care that put my Pet's life into transfusions and death. But why wait 5 years, or a few months before complaining? Maybe it is just the times we are in!! I guess YOU didn't care about helping solve a problem but are more of a " if I have a bad day, someone is going to pay" person you might do it that way!! Makes you feel justified whether there was problem , cause or not!!! Maybe YOU were the problem by not being a "good" participant in the process!!! Anyway, I am a protective owner & provide the best care I can for my Yorkies!!! I WOULD NOT TAKE THEM ANYWHERE BUT AIRPARK UNLESS DR. FLANNERY REFERRED ME TO A SPECIALTY VET!! You can read a few poor ratings and see that others greatly disagree! I would argue that most likely those people complaining are the problem and not part of a solution or discussion. I would bet this complaint was never voiced to Dr Flannery but was a 5 Year Old surprise! I just happened to be leaving a review and saw what these 3 had written!! I've lived in the VERDE VALLEY 26 years and have witnessed the life saving and superb care this Hospital provides! You can read the words of some angry people that are just a symptom of these social media times when if you post something, They just pile on "BULLSHIT" that had no relevance, helpfulness or timeliness" to solving what they thought was a problem!! I would pay attention to those whom took the time to write a "Glowing" review! The tendency is NOT to take the time to complement exceptional work but only take time to complain about something that may be a problem or NOT!! Just my 26 year old opinion. I do NOT respond to negative remarks so don't waste your time!!! Do something positive with your time!
