Lights, Camera, Action! Finally after many years of being in the dark, this Cramerton eatery has updated its lighting! Hallelujah! Mayworth always puts out good food. They have a great menu and very friendly service. My only complaint during my recent visit is value. For $17.00, I expected more on my Southfork Salad. Very little corn, black beans, salsa and chicken. Mostly lettuce mix. With the exception of this, our meal was awesome. It's our first visit here and we didn't know what to expect. We enjoyed the penne with vodka sauce and the chicken picatta pasta dish. The service was friendly and fast. The ambiance is nice. Plenty of parking. One thing missing is they didn't have bread with the pasta dishes. Otherwise, I would give them a five stars. Our server and the front of house girl were delightful, but that's where the positivity ends. Our past two trips haven't been amazing, but this took the cake. Unfortunately, our food took well over 40 minutes to come out (on a Sunday night with 8 tables there). My husband's burger was "a hockey puck", as he put it. His potato was also well over-cooked, to the point where the butter didn't even melt on it. My salad, well, what a total disappointment....overpriced for what I got. The lettuce mix was clearly frozen at one point and not thawed (imagine eating a frozen spinach bag left on the counter for a while). The egg on the salad was rubbery and unfortunately inedible. My kids noodles were cold but a few of the tots were still solid in the middle. It was just an overall disappointment. Sadly, I think our server knew and never asked the "how's everything" question (nothing against her, she was wonderful...apologizing for the food not being out yet, etc). I want to support small business, and see this cute little strip of Cramerton grow, but this meal left, quite literally, a bad taste in our mouth. read more

Tried this restaurant on a recommendation and was not disappointed. Local hometown tavern ambiance with a full bar area with plenty of local beer options. Mounted TVs for those who need to catch up on your sporting games. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Staff were very patient with our party of 12 (including 3 little ones) and offered several recommendations off the menu. Fried pickles and chips and queso were fantastic. I'd recommend the Sloppy Joe, French Dip, chicken tacos and chicken tenders. Children menu items are your basic Mac n cheese or cheeseburgers but they sufficed. Overall friendly staff, hometown atmosphere, good beer options and food. Definitely worth a visit. There is a Small parking area outside but there is street parking within walking distance of the restaurant. We were actually looking for a Sunday brunch and this spot came up. When we got there, around 12:45p, we were only given lunch menus, so we assumed we missed brunch. I found out after ordering and eating lunch that brunch is over at 2pm. I'd only suggest giving customers menus for all food offerings. Anyhoo, we ordered the fried pickles, big fish sandwiches, fries, tots(because if there are tots, I'm having tots), and pasta salad. We were pleased with our meals. The big fish is...big. Well seasoned, light crispy batter and fried well and piping hot fresh. The sandwich comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a toasted bun, and a side of tartar. I got mine with only lettuce and my husband got all the toppings. The tartar is really good. The tots were crispy and the fries were well cooked. My husband liked the pasta salad and only noted that it could use a hint of salt-from someone who never salts his food. They serve Coke products and my husband ordered a hot coffee. If you like a strong cup of delicious coffee, they serve that here! I actually would stop by here in the mornings to get coffee if it made sense! Service was friendly and fast. A couple of long tables: 1 booth and 1 high top, perfect for groups, and a bar area with TVs. They are located across from Goat Island, a perfect place to take a walk afterwards. I've been coming here for years, though it's been about a year since my last visit. Mayworths has a solid vibe and atmosphere. The food overall is good, though not exceptional. My daughter loved her chicken Caesar wrap, and my wife enjoyed her salad. We also ordered fried pickles, which I personally loved, though they were on the salty side (which I don't mind). The sweet potato fries were excellent. However, my Nashville hot chicken sandwich was a disappointment it was ice cold despite being fried chicken, and the bread was disgusting. Not sure what kind of bun they use but I don't recommend. Definitely not what I was expecting. Despite that, I'll be back, I'll just order something different next time. It's still a solid spot for a quick bite and a cold beer. read more

I went in tonight considering having the dollar wings special. I saw a large group of children in the restaurant and decided to take out. I ordered wings to go at 6:45 PM. The bartender came back to me and said that the restaurant was out of wings. The board for specials when you enter the restaurant was not updated nor was there any communication amongst the patrons. I think it's super sad to not have wings on wings night. And do not offer anything else in exchange. I've tried on two occasions to give this place a second chance. I came in on Super Bowl Sunday only to experience that the music was loud and you could not hear the ball game on the televisions. So I went next-door. My wife and I were visiting Mt Holly to see family and old friends. About to make my annual visit to Super Walmart to pick up a dozen pounds of livermush (a regional treat like Scrapple) to bring back to Tampa. We decided to check out a place recommended in nearby Cramerton. Late lunch, GPS took us there and parking right in front. Beautiful small town reminded me of my hometown. We were seated right away in a booth that turned out to be very special. Our great waitress Carmen brought drinks and menus. My wife decided on the Sunday Special Meatloaf with fries, all covered in brown gravy. I chose the Sloppy Joseph with Queso and Jalapeños. There was a brass tag on the booth "Home of Charles and Monica Oliver" and we asked Carmen about it. Turns out the couple came in every day for many years and always sat in Booth 13. So the restaurant honored them with the tag. They have passed but their memory lingers. Awww. Turns out Carmen had grown up in town and worked at Mayworths while in school. Then moved away but came back to where she loved. She also gave us a brief history of the town. She was so delightful, we wished we could adopt her as a granddaughter! We complimented the chef and she brought him out to meet us! Excellent food, terrific service and what an atmosphere! Well worth a visit. Made us want to visit more small restaurants in small towns. More than a meal - an adventure! We will be back next trip up. read more

This a small pub in Cramerton that serves food and beer. It's very dim inside and makes reading any menus difficult. The menu is a pretty random assortment of food. My biggest complaint is the fact they had Fox News blasting on the main tv over the bar on a Friday night. That really isn't appropriate for any business or human to watch. We loved this place! It was our first visit. If you are into sports, there are several large screen TVs. The place has a tavern feel and a good menu with several local beer options. There are various types of seating. Staff was friendly. Service was just a little slow - but we were there between shifts, so perhaps that was why. Food was great! We loved the fried pickles. They brag about their GIANT fish sandwich, what a joke! We had dinner there last week, she got the GIANT fish sandwich without the bun, I got it WITH. I received two tiny pieces of barely lukewarm fish on a small bun, she received a very small portion also, and also colder than it was hot. We've eaten there several times, and it is always hit or miss. Aside from a few people at the bar, we were the only people in the dining area for the first half hour. It will be a very long time before we return. By the way, I always ask for super hot fresh fries, my fries were warm, inexcusable. read more

I have had a couple of ok experiences at Mayworth's, but two recent experiences that left me super disappointed. The first experience was with a hungry toddler and a mostly empty restaurant. Toddler's food (mac and cheese) took 45 min and we had to ask for ours to go after an hour. The manager was very apologetic and kind, so we gave it another try. I ordered buffalo mac and cheese (pictured) and the rest of our group ordered wings, a sandwich, and another pasta dish. No one was satisfied, as the food was simply underwhelming, mine being unappealing and all pasta was made with penne- personal preference but weird for mac and cheese. read more

So glad I found this place. Loved the bar ambiance and it was so clean. Located in a quaint town. Came on a Sunday night, so would love to come back to sightsee. Ordered chicken tenders with Mac and cheese. They were really good. Also ordered Sloppy Josephs, one with truffle fries and the other with cheese grits. The Sloppy Joes were very good, except when we got to the end, where the oil residue was a lot. I would probably pat the oil with napkins, to help. On the flipside, the truffle fries were good but probably weren't moist enough on the oil...I think tossing them quickly in a little bit more oil might've helped. There's definitely a happy medium though. The cheese wasn't warm on the fries. With the cheese grits, they were delicious and were a great selection. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here and would definitely recommend coming here if you haven't yet! read more

Hey, I get it. Sometimes, swing and miss. It happens....... But, this was a big miss. Arriving on a Saturday night at 5:30, the place was slammed. We sat at the bar. After being ignored for about 10 minutes, I flagged down the young lady bartender and ordered a beer. Beers came.... Waited about another 20 minutes, drank our beer and again had to flag down the young lady bartender, both for another beer and asked for a menu, We ordered. I went with the my normal chili cheese with tater tots (bummed they were out of waffle fries). See my prior reviews on Yelp. By 6:30, the place had considerably slowed down. My wife ordered loaded sloppy joe sandwich. Food came out fast. My chili cheese tater tops (see picture) looked to die for. I ordered extra Queso, which is usually served in a side little cup. I asked about the extra Queso and she said it was there, but would bring a cup. Umm, okay...... My dish was cold. I checked my wife's plate, as she ordered tator tots, hers were crispy and hot. I said something and she apologized and took it away. The plate came back out, with what looked like ground beef placed on top. Not sure what that was? The food was hot, but now the tater tots were soggy, furthermore the Queso cheese was like cement. I am not sure what the ground beef on top was, but it was gross. In fact, the dish was terrible, as in made me sick to my stomach. Kind of a bummer. Furthermore - My wife asked for jalapeños, as they did not come with the LOADED sloppy joe - DID NOT COME My wife asked for a glass of water - DID NOT COME My wife had to ask - twice for a side of Ranch. Service was horrible - waited 10 minutes just to get waters. I got a philly cheese steak and it was so greasy and salty, it was barely edible. I'd say the service was the worst part, and good food could have helped that. But, no good all around. It's a shame since there are limited restaurants in Downtown Cramerton. read more

By far one of the worst restaurants west of Charlotte. Service was so slow. We waited 1 hour for a wrap and a burger- no drinks. I ordered a ceaser wrap and they gave me a fried chicken wrap but couldn't complain since I was starving and it had been so long since we were seated. I know it's not what I ordered but the fried chicken wrap was literally ice burg lettuce, a chicken strip and cheddar cheese... no sauce or anything, lol. It was awful. First time here also! To start, I got the Giant Fish Sandwich, which was downright amazing. The fries were delicious, long, and crispy. The overall look of the place was also very nice - as a usual bar would look, but more... home-like, it feels. I would like to start out by saying that.I never give five star reviews. That being said, the new and improved Mayworth's Public House is outstanding. I had the bruchetta and Pasta Ala Vodka. Both with fresh, house made ingredients added to the wonderful expierence. My wife and I are from Chicago where restaurants will not survive if they are not good. Mayworth's would certainly survive in any city. It should thrive here. If you had an unpleasant expierence before the remodel, you really should give Mayworth's a second try. If you are a wait person looking for a place that serves quality food and a management team that thrives on customer satisfaction, go see them amd tell them Rusty sent you (if you are good)! read more

Great place for Sunday Brunch after Virtual Church. Took awhile to drive over but we assumed there would be signs pointing to Cramerton once you take the Cramerton Exit off of I-85. Wrong. You're better off taking the McAdenville/Lowell Exit and from there, it's less than 10 minutes away. Thank goodness for the yelp app because it gave very good step by step directions. Got there about 11:30 with ample parking on the street. Nice interior with lots of dark wood and a beautiful bar. Server was very helpful and attentive through out our visit. My wife went with the Lunch Menu and had the Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes and Fruit. She made a point that it was served with Brown Gravy as opposed to the more traditional Southern Tomato Based Topping. I went with the Brunch Menu and had the Big Southern Breakfast which was two scrambled eggs, biscuit and gravy, your choice of meat and a choice of Hashbrown Casserole or Grits. Chose the Livermush since it had been awhile since I have had that and the Hashbrown Casserole. Everything was very good except I did not like the Hashbrown Casserole. First Casserole that I have had that I could describe as "crunchy". Still on the whole, it was very good and will add to placed for Sunday Brunch. read more

We stopped here for some take out during the pandemic. It was pretty uncomfortable since there was almost no noticeable change at the bar where we had too pick up food. The pick up spot was also in front of the kitchen, so staff had to keep passing between us at the bar as we waited. The bar was shoulder to shoulder... very uncomfortable. We do plan to go back after the pandemic. The chicken sandwich was absolutely insane. I was so jealous of my husband since that is what he ordered. It was perfectly juicy and breaded. HOT as all get out even as take out. Talk about a party in your mouth, it's the top five chicken sandwich we have had in the area. I had the french dip. The meat was off the chain good, I was a bit disappointed the roll was kinda basic. I actually thought it was a bit of an insult to the sandwich since the meat was just incredible. Great Public House with food and drinks. Charming little place with a bustling atmosphere. Very full on a Tuesday night when I stopped for dinner. As a visitor to this place I didn't realize they had entertainment scheduled and that could have been part of the draw. Music Bingo! After seating myself at the bar, it could have also been busy due to the establishment having great service and a cheerful staff! Bartender was very helpful and attentive with all his customers. Sample a couple of local craft beers from their nice selection. Did I mention they were fairly priced too. I had viewed some of the food photos on Yelp before choosing the place. I went with the fish tacos even though most seemed to be of the shrimp version. Trying to watch my cholesterol I know that fish is a better choice. My side was the brussel sprouts. Both were very tasty and something I would recommend. I wish my diet allowed a little more flexibility as some of the other options sounded delicious. The only downside was the parking. The area where this is located appeared very busy with a lodge and fitness center in the same proximity and between them there was little parking available. read more

Stopped in here for lunch with my family on the way to Atlanta. Tucked in a cute little town with a river/creek front nearby is Mayworth's. The food here is unbelievably delicious! Every person at my table said the food was some of the best they've ever had. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese with the sloppy Joe mix on top -- delicious! Tonight I arrived at Mayworth's. I come quite often to the business I have come to love the ambience, the staff, and the food that they provide. Management has always been phenomenal and the staff have been as well. However, tonight I am not sure what occurred but the sloppy Joseph. "Sloppy Joe" was a complete meatball sandwich unlike the previous times where I've ordered it before it was consistent throughout, however made it feel as if I ordered a hamburger with sauce. I did make the bartender aware of the sandwich as she understood where I was coming from. Removed and possibly made the manager and kitchen staff aware of the issue. Due to her phenomenal customer service I wanted to provide her with a tip so I asked her if she could bring me up for a side that way she still received compensation for her quality of work. The manager came shortly after and apologized on behalf of the kitchen, which is rare nowadays, but was overall enjoyed. It shows that some people take responsibility for something that they take pride in. She politely offered other menu items as I declined. Overall, not a bad experience, however, slightly disappointed in the kitchen. I will definitely return for the music bingo nights. But will be kind of jaded towards their food. I ordered a meal for pick up on a Saturday evening for 6 people. The food was fresh, well priced and had little wait time for pick up. The staff was very friendly and had a family like feel to them. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of tables and TVs in the bar area! Parking was plentiful for me although I can see parking may be a pain during busy times.
