This is a convenient spot downtown. There is street parking. It's always busy. I usually order ahead. I love their boneless chicken with Cajun rub. Not a fan of the fries and would get the chicken without them if I could. They are never hot when I get them. Last time I asked for Cajun seasoning and paid extra but when I checked after getting to my spot, it wasn't there. I was told someone would follow up but I didn't get a call. It's a causal environment. I enjoy their chicken a lot and would get it often. Disappointed regarding the no call back but I will return and share when I do to help it's taken care of. We were in town for the weekend. We decided to go to brunch with our friends who are local to Charlotte. They said they go to Jack Beagles every Sunday. We decided to join them. This place is simple. They have paper menus. They have a small dining area. They have basic options for food. I got the French toast. It was simple as it gets French toast. I asked for bacon, extra crispy. My friend who lives in Charlotte gets her bacon that way too. So thankfully, the bacon came out how I like it. That was satisfying. They have regular coffee. No flavored coffee here. No flavored creamers even. I doubt they even do iced coffee. This place is simple. That's the best way to put it. If you want brunch without all the extra frills, come here. read more

I don't know why this place only has 3 stars? It's our 1st time visiting this location, and definitely won't be our last! This place has a large bar area but only 6 inside tables so it's fairly small inside. Great crowd of friendly people of all ages. Local bar feels. Karaoke on Thursday which was a blast to watch everyone sing as I'm not that daring! The bartender was very nice, friendly and attentive. She was on top replacing our drinks once they were empty and asking if we were ok often. We had the Fried Chicken Skins, which we were pleasantly surprised to see on the menu as they are very rare to find. They came with cheese dip Which I thought was weird but surprisingly it complimented them very well. The only thing is it's mostly chicken chunks which wasn't even listed on the menu it just said chicken skins. I still loved the mixture just should be listed on the menu like that. We asked for a side of ranch to also dip them in and their ranch is "the good ranch" We also had the Stadium Mac n Cheese. I loved it it was very creamy as I do love creamy homemade Mac n cheese! My husband and I visited JackBeagle's one Saturday morning when we were in Mt. Holly for a craft show. We arrived right when they opened, and they became quite crowded shortly after, so we took this as a good sign of them having a great breakfast. I tried the Beagle Breakfast, and my husband had the Beagle Bowl. I asked for my eggs scrambled with cheddar, and requested crispy bacon, grits, and a biscuit. The eggs were cooked almost omelet-style, and that was just fine with me. They had plenty of cheddar, too. My bacon couldn't have been any better - it was thick and very crispy, just like I like it. The grits were creamy and delicious with a little added butter. The biscuit was large and soft, and my husband enjoyed it with butter and jelly. His Beagle Bowl was loaded with potatoes, peppers, and onions. He added gravy, and their version is spicy and delicious. While one of his over-medium eggs had broken of the griddle, he said it was delicious regardless, especially with the yummy gravy. The second egg was perfectly over-medium. I can't forget to mention their coffee. It was hot and strong, just like we like it. Our server was friendly and helpful, and always there when we needed her. Worst experience ever! Husband and I went for breakfast this morning and it wasn't crowded at all. We sat down and waited for a server. A 4 top came in after us and she went to them first. I had high hopes for this location, as it's now closer than the rest for us, but it just missed the mark on many fronts. For starters, the service was slow, like painfully slow, even when getting the check/paying. Additionally the server dropped our card and found it on the sidewalk (we were eating outside), but that was a little scary. I will also say, the place has multiple empty tables inside and out and I had counted at least 5 servers (not including the bartender), so it didn't seem as if they were short staffed or in the weeds. The cheesesteak I ordered seemed to only have have the meat/portion it should have. It was delicious, but I was still hungry afterwards. Their morehead and Noda locations really pile it on and you get a full sandwich. I was just surprised at the lack of meat goodness inside, especially when the picture on the menu boasts an epic cheesesteak. I also got the black and bleu Mac, and again, it just wasn't the same caliber. It was a little gritty and kind of curdled, and just seemed to be overcooked. It was the creamy decadent texture I was used to finding at Jackbeagles. I think next time I have a Mac and cheese craving, I'll still with their other locations rather than here. Man, I bet when Covid isn't a thing this place is CROWDED! We visited this afternoon at about 2pm and the bar was nearly full! Seems like this is a great neighborhood bar who also happens to have really delicious casual fare! I'd heard in one of my FB groups that the macaroni and cheese is awesome, so even though we all got sandwiches, I ordered a side of Mac and Cheese for the table. We also ordered an order of homemade potato chips because the sandwiches don't come with sides. Both were delicious! The macaroni and cheese might be described as dry to some, but that is exactly how I like it. I don't like a "goopy" mac and cheese. We ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich, a patty melt and a Philly Cheesesteak. I opted for White American cheese. REALLY great sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the 3 of us got out of there for under $50. Very good value! Service was incredible, we lacked for nothing! I was excited to try Jack Beagles in Mt. Holly after seeing the great reviews. We stopped in for breakfast. There was no crowd so we got settled in quickly. The vibe is great and clean. Great start. The menu was varied and the coffee was hot. I went with the breakfast platter. The food arrived and my order was not prepared correctly, in addition our pancake and toast were "on the way" due to the kitchen being backed up. I had to ask for coffee and drink refills ( completely out for all 3 of us) and reminded of the missing items after 10 minutes of waiting. 15 minutes later the toast arrives, no pancake. We mention it and are told again of the kitchen backup. 20 minutes later the pancake arrived. Not sure if this was a fluke or expectation but, there is no interest of a retry. We used to go here all the time after it opened, it was a fun spot and everyone was friendly. We haven't been much this year so we decided to stop in, meet a bunch of friends for drinks and snacks. The waitresses and bartenders all seemed pretty unhappy to be working, their attitude showed and was portrayed onto everyone in our group. It was almost to the point people felt uncomfortable to even get drinks. If you're that miserable find another job. I wouldn't waste your time here, there's plenty of other places to grab a drink and much friendlier staff. read more

After having a great experience at JB NoDa, ventured to this location before hitting up White Water Center. Food was ok. Ribeye is frozen steakums lol. So needless to say, was very dry. Cheese fries good. Male server, Thomas, was pretty good. Very helpful. Checked on us regularly. Female with braids obviously only came to work to greet guests from her comfortable seat at the bar, drinking her water while having conversations on her air pods. Asking her for salt, pepper, etc appeared to be an inconvenience. She made our bloody mary drinks but bc she wasnt our server,drinks sat waiting. The only time this place is decent is when you're already quite drunk. The service is never good, the crowd is way too loud for no reason. The only seasoning on the wings is oil, and the ranch tastes like it's made with dishwater. So Wednesday nights is Wine & WU-TANG at the Summit Beer Shop across the street from Jack Beagles. 2$ off draft or bottled wines all day long, and they either have a food truck out front or you can order from Jack Beagles and they will deliver the food over to you at the Summit. Having nearly finished a whole bottle of wine, (kidding, not kidding), I realized I needed to partake in some food to soak up some of the blood alcohol content before heading home for the evening. I placed my call to JB's ordering the Blue Bayou burger, waited patiently and within 10 or so minutes my burger was in front of me at the bar in my favorite beer shop and I am now staring at what is to be my favorite burger ever. The menu description of the burger is (11$) Blue Cheese, Apple wood Bacon, Grilled Onions, Balsamic Reduction, Roasted Garlic Aioli served on Kaiser. Holy moly what a flavor explosion! Toasted bun, chewy bacon, blue cheese seeping out of all sides with plenty left in the middle. The balsamic reduction and aioli pulled it all together for a definite flavor explosion! We had a great team lunch here! Their new location in Mt Holly is the only one I've been to so I can't compare it to the other locations. We had a group of 8 and couldn't sit all together in 1 table- they put us in 2 tables instead. They still had something going on with their patio where only a certain side was available. Not sure what that was about. The service was good although he seemed a little lost by having 1 party split among 2 tables. The food was amazing! Cheesy fries had tons of black pepper in it and made them so good. The burger patty was cooked perfectly with some nice char at the edges. I also had the Jack Mac which was nice and comforting. Definitely only get the sides if you're sharing or willing to take leftovers home because they are huge! I would have been more than satisfied with just the burger. I understand some things can be hit or miss, but I don't understand the negative reviews for this place! My wife and I decided to try brunch there today. I got the SOS... it was outstanding! Steak and peppers in cream gravy over Texas toast. My wife got the biscuit and sausage gravy, and while not as good as mine, it was good as well. The server was attentive and our drinks never dipped below half. I believe her name was Hensley. The place was clean and a recent 100% health inspection was displayed. Today was my second trip to this new location. First of all, this is Mount Holly, not Belmont. Hopefully the owner will claim this soon and fix that info. I've always really liked the JB NoDa location and I've been looking forward to this one opening. I came last Sunday for a beer and to watch football. I could tell that they were still trying to iron out some kinks but the staff was awesome and beer was good. This morning I brought my son down for breakfast. The NoDa location was always a good breakfast and this location is pretty similar. Seems like they're running much smoother now. Breakfast burrito was tasty and my son gave the pancakes a strong thumbs up. I'm really glad that Jack Beagles came to Mount Holly. It's a nice addition to our downtown. read more
