I ordered the Mazajj Latte with an extra shot of espresso and it was so good! I don't like overly sweet coffee, and even when I add an extra shot at other places, it still ends up too sweet but the Mazajj was the perfect balance. This was my second visit, and the customer service was just as great as the first time. You can't go wrong with Yemeni style coffee! That being said, I loved everything about this experience apart from the wait times. Apparently, when it comes to living this spot, I'm not alone, because this place was full! This trip I wanted to get myself a little treat of a caffeinated beverage, savory snack, rose pistachio anything, and Dubai chocolate treat. I ended up with Qishr, a spinach feta cheese pastry, Dubai chocolate bar, and Dubai chocolate strawberry cup. All filling, I had to take most of it home. Everything was delicious, and if you're attempting to lower your caffeine intake, qishr this is definitely a great substitute. The only area of improvement I could see was the service. The Long wait times were long and they honestly weren't the most welcoming, but perhaps this was due to the high volume of service. We were there for a few hours and ordered a medium pot of both their Jubani coffee and the Adeni chai, both with no sugar. The flavor notes are incredibly pronounced, with the Jubani ginger having a subtle delicate flavor that balanced very well with the cinnamon. The Adeni chai was creamy yet spicy with the cardamom and nutmeg. Half and half is available to add to coffee as needed. The presentation was beautiful and would serve excellently for a date. If you're an old-head like myself who likes strong coffee, this ain't it. The place itself is pretty nice and a chill place if you'd like to work remotely from for a day. The folks were pretty nice and they do have a sign that the coffee is served REALLY HOT. Once you get it, let it sit for a few minutes to cool down. I tried the Jubani. I definitely tasted the cinnamon and ginger, but that's about it. I didn't taste much of a coffee flavor. They have other foods and desserts as well. The caramel chocolate cake was pretty good along with the Spinach/Cheese roll. But for over 30 dollars for weak coffee drinks and pastries....eh I'll pass on this one. read more

The environment is perfect for studying or work - it's very peaceful. My favorite item to order is the iced mocha latte - not too sweet and not watered down at all. This place is one of, if not the only, place that correctly makes the mocha to where you can taste both the chocolate and espresso flavors - so satisfying. I finally got to try this Yemeni coffee place.... The place on at is a bit small but well decor and inviting. Yemeni coffee, is known for its nutty, earthy, and slightly chocolate flavor. I tried the Mazajj sweet latter I was surprised full of flavor nutty slight chocolate taste sweeten to perfection! Reminded me of urth cafe in Los Angeles CA they have a Spanish latte that taste just like it! My husband decided to try the mocha ice latte for him it was effect strong not too sweet, our kids had summer strawberry smoothie they loved it! On to the pastries we ordered pistachio tres leches, we were wowed it was moist sweet not to the extreme and you can actually taste the pistachio in it. We also ordered the chocolate caramel cake the kids devour it was the number one pick for them. The Dubai chocolate was delicious. Customer service was exceptional the baristas super friendly and informative we had an overall great experience. Was looking for new coffee spot to try one morning and this place had great ratings. I see why! Mazajj specializes in Yemen coffee, something I've never had. I ordered the Jubani coffee. It has a different combination of flavors, but the cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger all came together so well. I loved the ambiance and the service was great. I was enticed to come here from other reviews by word of mouth but was a little disappointed in the cafe experience. The interior was really nice and has a cultural aesthetic to it. The drinks I had ordered were the lattes that were recommended to me by the staff. Which ultimately they did taste fine but there was not a wow factor to it. One other thing that did occur was that we requested the drinks to be dine in so they could be served to us in a mug with latte art that we had seen promoted on social media before. However the drinks were served to us in paper cups and I really did not want it to be an issue. I just wanted to make the experience good for my parents so I had to request a remake of the lattes for two of the drinks. I felt a little sad to have needed to waste the other lattes but it also just wasn't what we asked for either. I would consider coming back but for now, since I am not local, I won't have a chance. read more

I was excited to try this place because of so all the reviews I read! I met up a friend here for coffee - As we walked in, it was empty and there was only one guest speaking with the workers so I obviously waited. As I waited for my friend to arrive while in line unfortunately, I was not greeted and the customer service was really slow and lacking. Once my friend arrived - we still weren't acknowledged by either person. The ordering experience was awkward but we ended up trying their iced mofawer (one sweet/one unsweetened). The drinks were good, nothing stood out about them they sort of tasted like caramel macchiato..we had to ask which drink was which when we went to get our order. It seems like there was a constant flow of people after we arrived that purchased drinks to go and left. I can't speak to any of the food because we didn't try any of their pastries or dessert. We sat for a while, we enjoyed the space as it was our first time there but I would not go back. This could be a picture worthy place to grab expensive drinks but between the lack of customer service and professionalism I won't be back. Whoever runs this establishment I'd recommend a course in hospitality and communication because the concept is nice but when poor execution it is not a great guest experience. If you are wanting to showcase culture and the cultural experience, I think this misses the mark. With this said, because my experience was 50/50 I'm giving it a 3 star review because the drink was decent. That's it. read more

Amazing truly organic Yemeni coffee, their pastries are delicious! They also recently add their version of the famous Dubai chocolate bar it's worth a try. The staff is always friendly and very helpful if you're not sure what to try they will suggest something for you to try. Depending on the time of the day you go it can get pretty loud in there especially in the afternoons after about 6 pm. But overall it's a great must try cafe, give it a shot if you're in the area. read more

I got the chai w almond milk and it was customized to less sugar as well! The sausage bread was toasted well and had great sesame flavor. Because that is the right thing to do. A smile and "welcome, good morning, how are you" won't hurt! But they're like "meh". The most disappointing was their pastries display was empty! It only had the names of the pastries and cakes!! So I literally had to ask the lady to explain each one to me. She's neither excited nor pissed explaining each. Both of these ladies took all their time. We waited more than 20 minutes for our order. So for the service it's 2/5 Now for food that we ordered: I ordered regular latte and I said no sugar, but it came with sugar. Without considering that, their coffee IS really good. So my latte is 3/5 Daughter's caramel macchiato: 3/5 Husband's cafe mocha: 3/5 (because both my husband's and daughter's drinks have overflowed and a bit cold, but still okay) Honeycomb: 1/5 (it's dry; almost crumbly) Bread with sausage: 3/5 Cheese bread (flat bread): 2/5 Dubai Chocolate bar and cup (to go): I don't want to rate them because they're too sweet for my taste. Nothing special. I think it's a hype. Ambiance is okay. Too gloomy for me. Not the place that I want to go to first thing in the morning. Price: 2/5--too pricey for the quality (except coffee). Coffee was originally discovered in Yemen by a goat herder. He noticed his goats becoming really excited after eating from a certain bush. The goat herder took some of the beans from that bush, boiled them in water and enjoyed the brew. He named it Caffee (something about energetic goats? Honestly I need to refresh my history). In any case, this Yemeni inspired coffee shop is awesome!! Persian carpets, amazing art work, light fixtures, coffee & manaiesh (fluffy bread with zatar).
