We are new to the area we went in to see about ordering hundreds worth of meat for my family I save all my money up to make sure I can get enough meat for my family. With that being said I went in and they were arrogant and rude to my husband and I being new to the area we thought it would be a good place. We were wrong they were so unprofessional with how they treated us that I refuse to spend my hard earned money at that place. Very bad first impression to someone whose new to the area I ended up finding a more respectable and suitable option that was cheaper for more so in the end they did me a favor. I saw the article on the internet about the best Italian sandwiches in the Syracuse area. The description of how they made the sandwich at Mazzye's was what brought me to the deli. I have been dying for a good roast beef sandwich/hero and placed an order for what I hoped would be a decent sandwich. The lady said they make their own roast beef - so that was a good sign. I got to talk to the owner while the sandwich was being constructed. Nice guy - a chef who brings his cooking experience to this market. I got home to open the hero and all I could say was "Wow" The roast beef was rare and looked so good. This was quality roast beef that did not repeat on you later in the day! I have been coming here on and off for many years. It's a little bit off my beaten path, but it's always spectacular. The team is very engaging and knowledgeable today. I was starving so bought a prepackaged container of pulled pork to eat for lunch and it was so good. I had made the trip to pick up a tres major steak to grill for dinner if you have never had one you need to so tender and flavorful. I also grabbed the chicken pot pie to cook this week. They have a great freezer section with lots of premade items that are easy to pop in the oven on a busy night and feel like you're having a home cooked meal. read more

When Mazzye's puts up a FB post I pay attention. These clams were truly sand free. All I did was rinse them and rub a little to get any surface dirt off, and there wasn't much. I steamed them in a little water white wine and Garlic for about 12-15 minutes, they were really nice size too! So easy. They were served with butter! Their selection of meats, Boar's head deli meats,homemade sausage and meatballs, etc. is wonderful. read more

I've lived in Liverpool just about all of my life. I drove by this place for decades and never stopped. I finally did just over a year ago and man was I disappointed for not making this "my place" sooner. This place must be the best kept secret because the line out the door should resemble that of Hides in the 80's and early 90's. From lunch to fresh meats this place is amazing and the staff is first class and reminds me of simple times. If you have never stopped in, I highly recommend you do. Mazzye's Meat is incredible. My wife and I have lived in Liverpool for 6 years now and always talked about going to Mazzye's and checking it out. It took us far too long and hopefully this review will prevent you from making the same mistake. Their meat is top quality and it simply tastes better than any other meat we've tried in the area. The beef, the chicken, the sausage, the you name it and it's been better. What we love most about it, is that the meat stands on its own and doesn't need to be cooked perfectly to satisfy your taste buds. Mazzye's is now our go to for everything that is meat. Let me also mention our first time in the owner knew we had never been there before and made it his purpose to welcome us, introduce us to the store, his process and what they are all about. It really brings the local feel to it all. And the staff working is fantastic every time. You have the ability to buy packages, in bulk or simply stop by and get what they have available. It also has some other convenience store elements that are of course...convenient to have. Prices are truly great every compared to the local chain and even if it is a bit extra, the quality is there to justify it. A must try and come back, again and again. Enjoy!! read more

I went in for one of Chef Drew's brisket sandwich. It was delicious. Best brisket I have had in this area. The bread was excellent, as was the sauce. Brisket was very tender; lots of flavor. Staff is very friendly. Mazzye's offers a discount to military and veterans, as well as a cash discount. The store also sells a variety of meats and Boars Head deli selections. Various other items are also available. I have purchased pork shoulder on occasion for pulled pork. It was always good. I look forward to trying other lunch specials, and some of the other butcher shop offerings. read more

I am a vegetarian, and love Mazzye's. They have pierogi "imported " from Buffalo, which means they are huge and filled with deliciousness. I bought smoked kielbasa for my family, smoked right on site by Drew the owner. A hit! Drew is friendly and instructive of everything in his cases. They supply a variety of Cora Italian foods as well as some frozen items such as Utica tomato pie. Goin to Mazzye's is like stepping back in time to the old butcher shops where everything is cut on site. Drew and his wife bought his place from the previous owners and have made it their own. GREAT place for a sandwich. One of the only deli's that I've been to in Syracuse that actually has a full line of Boar's head. The price is reasonable for a meat-filled sub and they also carry a lot of little niche items in their store, which is cool. Usually have Prime Rib for Easter. With prices skyrocketing and our guest list approaching 30+ people I was thinking a nice roast beef instead. He talked me into 5 London Broils. Salt and pepper only, started on a grill and finished in the oven. Very versatile being able to cook each cut of meat to the desired doneness. The quality of meat was fantastic. To try something different than Wegman's, Nichols, etc. I was initially dismayed by the disinterested, unfriendly service (a young blonde girl). I purchased a 1lb. Ribeye steak (for dinner) and a sandwich (for lunch). The sandwich was average. THE STEAK WAS TERRIBLE! Full of gristle and smelled old (not fresh) DO NOT GO TO MAZZY'S. IT IS AWFUL. I am actually embarrassed to admit that today was the first time I have gone to Mazzy's Meat Market. I have lived in Liverpool for over 40 years and just assumed it would just be very expensive. They are much more than a butchers. They are a delicatessen and small groceries. The people are very knowledgeable and passionate about providing a high quality product at reasonable prices. I stopped in here for a sub to go for lunch at the recommendation of a co-worker. This place is old world, classic, care about you food and service. This is A gem. Great sub/sandwich, great service, super high quality meats, proper butcher shop and very fair price for the quality. Don't waste 5 bucks at Lameway and spend 6 bucks at this spot for real meat on a great homemade roll. Boarshead & home cooked meats not processed crap like the other guys. They even roast and make their own roast beef and turkey for sandwiches. The ground round beef from Mazzye's makes the best burgers. Only minor seasoning required, they taste great. Chicken marinated in Lupo sauce is a bit overpriced, it's not Lupo brand speidies, but they use Lupo's marinade. Also great that they have Boar's head. I needed a special cut for Christmas, and heard good things about Mazzye's. I ordered a crown roast from them - you know, that special Christmas roast in a circle with all the bones sticking up. They asked for the size, and I said the smallest you can do, as long as it's still a circle. "No problem, when do you want to pick it up?" When I picked it up, it was wrapped and bagged so I couldn't see it. Christmas morning I unwrapped it to just find to pork roasts tied back to back. It was not a crown roast. I spent two hours making into a crown roast - trimming it and forming it into a circle. Not how I wanted to spend Christmas morning. What gets me is that they know what a crown roast is. They were more than willing to charge me for one, but tried to get away with tossing a couple of roast together and hoping I wouldn't complain, or hide it and hope I didn't notice until too late, which is what happened.
