Parking is private and plentiful. Walk through the door marked professional suites, the spa is down the hallway and on your left. Gigi and staff are always in front to greet you. This has been my experience every single time. I have always been introduced and welcomed. I have been pleased with my sugaring service. My skin looks brand new. I was a nearly lifelong shaver and regular waxer for the last couple years. My waxes with Gigi have resulted in less hair. For the first time ever, I have softer hair...even when I'm overdue (because life!). Gigi works very quickly and you are in and out. She does firmly wax, but it's not painful, so be prepared. I originally had a 5 star review in mind, but after a few days of contemplation, I realize that 5 stars wouldn't paint the most accurate picture. Let's start with the the good: [clears throat] Are you ready for the most thorough wax of your life? Well if you are, come see Gigi. She's not afraid to get all of your nooks and crannies. I left stunned. I'm used to wax appointments being slotted for 15 minutes and the estheticians rushing thru to get the next person for a rushed and pricey experience. But Gigi was in no rush and her prices are fair. No for my qualms: Gigi was a bit rough. I wouldn't recommend her for inexperienced waxers. Yes, she'll get every piece of hair but I left sore and irritated for two days. Gigi does not leave the room while you undress which originally unnerved me. Also, to my surprise, she does not use gloves for sugaring and I was taken aback by this. Though she puts paper onto the waxing bed, I saw the sheet before the paper went down and it had stains. Hygiene is VERY important when waxing and her processes should be revisited. My friend pushed me into getting a wax done by Gigi and said the end result was real nice and smooth, and she really trusted Gigi to wax her. Let me tell you guys, Gigi is very sweet! And she talks with you through out the whole process, so it's not like...an awkward silence while she's touching you up ;) haha. The wax is a sugar wax, and not a hot wax. It comes on nicely, and the peel off is very easy and smooth. Sugar waxes are better for your skin and the pain is little to nothing! She makes sure you are satisfied when it's all over, and puts a cream of sorts on you so its soothing and to cool down the pain. Some tips for the ladies that want to wax, your little princesses// 1. DON'T shave before coming in, TRIM to a 2-3 centimeter so it's easier to wax. 2. 5 stars! Gigi is fantastic! I came in for a wax a week ago and I am still as smooth as a baby's butt. She uses this organic sugar wax which she makes herself. While it is doing the waxing, it is also exfoliating and moistening. Compared to my other waxes (hard wax/soft wax) I barely felt anything with this sugar wax! Gigi is a friendly lady who was waiting for me on arrival. Although her salon is being renovated (due to fire damage in their building) she was kind enough to accommodate me for an appointment. Her salon offers multiple services, and I came here for arm sugaring. Gigi's work is thorough and efficient and her prices are extremely competitive. As other reviewers noted, not a huge concept of privacy here: she stayed in the room when I took off my shirt, and another technician also came in to chat while I was in the room in just my bra (very neighbourhood vibes I would say). She also re-dipped the wax stick that she used for my underarms, so I definitely wouldn't recommend getting waxed here. I was waxed here and absolutely loved it. I had the halawa (Middle-Eastern sugar wax) and my skin was super soft and smooth. Even after a few days, regrowth was minimal and my skin still smooth. SOOOOO I found Gigi 6 months ago via Groupon and have been going to her for my waxes ever since. I've been getting waxed for about 5 years now, and Gigi is the best I've come across as I've seen skin improvements from ingrown hairs! I absolutely love the sugar waxing, which she always prefers due to its natural benefits. Her prices are affordable, her service is thorough/swift, and I would recommend her for those who have been waxed before. I noticed that some comments have stated that she does not always leave the room when you're getting undressed. However, when it's all said and done she's going to see your body regardless, you're not the first private areas she has seen nor the last, and she too is a woman with the same body parts (if you are a female getting a wax). So, I'm personally not bother by such and am comfortable, but I do understand. Image having a family member you are very close with, or your mother who might be like your best friend ... that is who Gigi is like to me after knowing her for the past 6 months. She is a sincere and confidential woman who goes beyond her duties to provide her customers with what they need. She said that she would honor the price of the groupon which was almost 50% off an already low price ($40)! Great experience overall- Gigi was quick, friendly, and it was fairly painless considering. I plan to return monthly as I don't think I'd find a more cost-efficient place. The location was hard to find, you have to go into what is like a mini-mall. I've encountered Gigi once before at another spa where I was using a Livingsocial deal, little did I know that I'd be running into her again! She is so aggressive and unprofessional. She doesn't leave the room to let you get undressed, hands you some wet wipes and asks you to clean yourself while she stands there and waits, but worst of all is the wax itself. She prides herself on being quick, but I have honestly never experienced a more painful wax! I feel sorry for any newbies that think this is what a Brazilian sugaring should feel like. I actually had to ask her to stop when she was trying to wax one spot over and over, she was being so rough! Gigi will insist on getting your cell phone number, she is very pushy in general, and while she does offer a great deal for regular customers, it is not worth it in my opinion. If you want to maintain some dignity and deal with a professional, please go somewhere else. You can't beat that. Gigi is the best! She made me feel comfortable from the time I walked in until I left. Gigi is the Queen of wee wees! I've had a wax done before, but it was in a cold and austere environment especially when laying on a table for almost an hour. Nothing about these procedures are fun, but Gigi makes the experience comfortable and inviting. There is a culture shock for those yuppy DC wannabes that can't talk to anyone for fear of tainting their polished image. Gigi's nature is pleasant and since the space is small, it can seem overbearing. I can assure you, if you want your twat tweaked, come here to Gigi's corner. She found areas that a high end waxer did not. I knew that I was in the right place when she exclaimed, "Why did they not do here?!?!". Then she immediately took care of the entire missed area. Let me tell you, she made me look pretty and aimed to impress my man. Which she did!!!! I'm never going anywhere else because she took the time and detail to clear the road! It's unfortunate that I can't give this place 0 stars. Where do I start? I thought I may have a good experience because the lady was so kind as to help me find the location, which is tucked away in a culdesac with a tiny sign you'd never notice unless you knew exactly what else was in the area. But that's not the point. I walked into to establishment and there were mops sitting out. Then the brow lady, Gigi, introduced me to a hair stylist that worked there. Please just do my brows. Anyway, she was kind enough so I just laid down on the bed without checking her materials; big mistake, but I haven't had a break out and I doused my brows in alcohol once I got home. Mind you, she doesn't wipe your face with anything once she's done. Still following? So I let her know to ONLY SHAPE my brows. I specifically said "ONLY SHAPE. Do not thin them out at all." She responded "I know I know. Gigi got it." She began to wax my brows and she immediately started making negative comments about my brows. "Your brows are really short...they are curly...Gigi will fix." My brows are NOT short at all. Nor are they curly. They aren't thick and unruly but they also hadn't been waxed in 3 months. She had a blank canvas to work with. She went on about her bikini waxing services and hair services as I lie there praying my face wouldn't look crazy. Once she finished, I looked in the mirror and told her they were a little short for my taste. I mean she really SNATCHED MY BROWS OFF OF MY FACE. Think thin sharpie brows that stop 1/4 of an inch too short. She even had the nerve to tell me she didn't touch the thickness of my brows and that I could fill it in with pencil. Note: My regular brow lady is 45 minutes away without traffic and I really needed somewhere quick. I was so desperate to have my brows done and thankful that she was kind that I didn't notice that her wax is kept in a Tupperware dish until it was time to go. But that's not the point either. The point is that I am literally lying in bed with pencil because I can't stand the thought of looking at how hideous my freaking brows are first thing in the morning. GiGi is amazing!! I started going to her for sugaring for my underarms and Brazilian about a year and a half ago. Earlier this year i started doing the laser hair removal with her as well. She is really the best! After the first two sessions, I saw dramatic decrease in the amount of hair and the thickness of the hair that grows back. I recently did my 5th session with GIGi and there are only small patches of thin hair left. What I like most is that the machine she uses has two lasers: one for lighter skin tones, and one for darker skin tones. I have brown skin and black hair and it has worked so well for me.
