I am posting this review in hopes of reaching management and obtaining a fair resolution. My mother and I visited Koncept Nails Spa for two pedicures, a builder gel fill, and a nail repair. The total bill was $199 before tips, and I tipped each technician separately. There were certainly positives: my pedicure was well done, my mother enjoyed her experience, and most of my nails look beautiful. Unfortunately, several aspects of my visit left me disappointed. I originally chose Koncept because it is conveniently located near my home and advertises hours until 8:00 PM. My nail technician of more than 10 years recently retired, and most salons in the area close by 5:00 PM, making evening appointments difficult for working professionals. Flexible evening hours were a major factor in my decision to become a customer. Before arriving, I called around 6:55 PM and specifically asked whether the salon could accommodate two pedicures, a builder gel fill, and a nail repair. I explained that we would arrive within 15-20 minutes. We arrived shortly after 7:25 PM, and while the staff ultimately accommodated us, there was hesitation because of the closing time. What I later discovered is that online appointments cannot be booked much later than approximately 5:45 PM, despite the salon remaining open until 8:00 PM. This became frustrating when I needed to schedule a repair appointment and realized the evening availability that attracted me to the salon was much more limited than expected. The first issue involved the service itself. I repeatedly explained that I was returning for my first fill after receiving a builder gel/Gel-X style service elsewhere. This was memorable because it was the very first time in many years that I had received anything other than traditional acrylic nails. Despite explaining this multiple times, I was repeatedly told that I did not receive the service I described. At one point, it felt less like a discussion and more like I was being told that my own experience was incorrect. Eventually, the explanation changed, and staff acknowledged that I had builder gel with gel polish on top. As a paying customer, I found this interaction frustrating and unnecessary. The second issue was pricing. I was charged an additional shaping fee even though I arrived with the same almond/coffin shape that I requested to keep. The only nail that was replaced during the appointment was my thumb. I questioned the charge but chose not to argue because I did not want to disrupt my mother's experience. My biggest concern is the quality of the repair itself. The thumb nail that was repaired lifted within approximately 24 hours and began allowing water underneath the nail. For a nail that had just been repaired the day before, this is unacceptable. At a $199 service total, I expected the repair to last longer than a single day. Adding to the frustration is the difficulty in contacting the salon. I could not locate an email address, could not send a Yelp message, and could not leave a voicemail. As a result, I had no practical way to notify anyone of the issue before having to rearrange my schedule and book another appointment. I want to be clear that this review is not intended to diminish the positive aspects of my visit. My mother had a pleasant experience, my pedicure was lovely, and most of my nails look great. However, the combination of being challenged about the service I knew I had previously received, questionable additional charges, a repair that failed within 24 hours, and the difficulty of obtaining assistance afterward has left me disappointed. I would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to speak with management regarding the failed repair, the additional charge, and an appropriate resolution. Service, quality and professionalism when you talk with clients that are not happy with the service should be professional at all times. My first appointment was great. Amy did an excellent job on my mani/pedi. Thank you Amy. So I sent my daughters to get their nails and toes done. Not sure who did what but you can tell who is more experienced than others.... So with that said if I tell you as a paying customer that the work is not good it's because it's not, especially if the designs are not good and the stuff on the nails fall off on day two. But to say come back and we will correct it, just to be insulting to my kid... not professional. Then you proceed to be aggressive and rough during the rework. Came in for a pedicure and dip manicure. I was told they were busy and might not be able to do my nails. My pedicure was nice very relaxing. I was offered hot tea and water. As they finished up my toes I was told they had time to do my nails. Amanda was my nail tech she was very sweet. I appreciated that she soaked my nails vs just drilling the previous color off. She did a great job and I loved that she mentioned she cared about healthy nails. The shop was very clean and pleasant. I would definitely go back. I will say they are a little pricey though. I'm not a fan of being charged 25 extra bucks for get and another 5 for French so my pedicure was over 80 bucks. All in all I spent over $140. They don't have a tip line so bring cash. I got a manicure and a pedicure. I selected the $55 pedicure. The nail tech that did my manicure and pedicure was very patient and nice. I love that the staff greets you upon entering the salon. It is a very gorgeous salon, very spacious. I love my pedicure, my nails were filed so nicely. A negative is that one of my nails chipped four days after my pedicure. That sucked. As far as my manicure went, I got a gel x manicure. I think she did a good job and was very patient, I don't wear nail extensions often so I wanted something different for my birthday. I was initially very impressed with this salon. The space was beautiful, clean, and welcoming, and every staff member I interacted with was kind and professional. Based on my experience when I arrived, I expected to receive great service. Unfortunately, the quality of the work did not match my expectations. I came in for a pedicure and requested an acrylic big toe. During the application process, the technician applied acrylic powder and then glued the nail on top in a way I had never seen before. While I was unsure of the technique, I trusted that she knew what she was doing. Just two days later, the acrylic nail completely popped off. What made the experience even more disappointing was the cost. My total came to $85, and I left a $10 tip, bringing my total out-of-pocket cost to nearly $100. For that price, all I received was a basic white polish on my toes with no design or additional services. I expected the work to last much longer than two days. While the customer service and atmosphere were excellent, the actual service I received was not. Paying nearly $100 for a simple white pedicure and an acrylic toe that fell off within 48 hours is extremely disappointing. I parked in the garage below the Harris Teeter And took the elevator up to the main floor, where I exited and took a left, went down a ramp and found the entrance I let them know that when I arrived that I was new. They pointed me to the iPad where I could put in my phone number and check in They can do a little better with new guest. For example having them sit for just a minute and read a print out of what to expect, what a person can ask for during the nail salon experience. In addition, they need to brief the nail technician on what the client was therefore. Lena, unfortunately, was not briefed on what I was requesting. The owner needs to remember that many guest have never been to their establishment and need guidance. Lena was my nail technician for the day. She nipped me once and gave her the benefit of the doubt. If she would've nipped me one more time, I would have requested a new technician. She was very careful after that happened. She finished out my salon experience quite well. My nails looked very nice afterwards. They will offer you water tea along with a few other beverages while you have your salon experience. I chose green tea. I wrote will probably go back again because it's right around the corner from my house. read more

Typically when I get foot spa, I enjoy the feeling of baby like skin at the bottom of my feet. But this time. I still had some pretty obvious dead skin by my toes. I had to use a nipper at home to clean off the sides of my nails where there was still some hard skin left behind. The massage was quite light on pressure too. Beginning with the pros: The salon is very beautiful with marble flooring, floral walls and lots of natural lighting. The check in process was very quick and easy and there was no wait time. It wasn't until I arrived that I was told she has moved to another state and given someone else. Which sucks because i am constantly on my feet as a first responder and really needed a good massage. Next I had gel x. The tech asked if I wanted a manicure as well. Now I've been getting my nails done for atleast 20yrs and I do gel x myself. When does manicuring the nails not become a part of the service. I don't expect these nails to last long because there was no real proper prep. Tina also kept forgetting steps but would catch herself. The salon is beautiful. I made an appointment with Hugo. But I'm really disappointed in the quality of work for the price paid. My nails are bumpy & the polish doesn't go back to the cuticle, making it look grown out already. Ni did a very good pedicure, great massage. But again, the polish application isn't the greatest. - I spent $190 (tip included) It's worth it to make the drive out to Tyson's area for better quality & about the same price. read more

I've been to this salon before for a regular mani/pedi and was very satisfied with the service. The ambiance is very calm and the place is extremely clean. Today, I decided to try a dip powder manicure as I'm going on vacation. Everything went well but I was very surprised to learn that trimming cuticles is not included in a dip powder service although it is for a regular or gel manicure. I was told at checkout that it would be an additional $10 charge. Part of getting any type of manicure is getting your nails filed or cut and the cuticles trimmed or pushed back. Honest Review I have been coming to this nail salon since its grand opening. In the beginning, they did an amazing job--high-quality nails, attention to detail, and great customer service. I was so pleased with their work that I even recommended family members and friends. However, some of them have since stopped going after noticing a decline in quality. About three months ago, I also started seeing a drastic change in their work. Some nail technicians no longer follow instructions on how clients want their nails done. My dip powder nails would chip, and if I got a French manicure, the white polish would start peeling off in less than a week. At first, I thought it was just a one-time bad experience, but it kept happening. The final straw was when multiple nails broke, and the dip powder completely came off just three days after my appointment. I returned to the salon to get them fixed, but the front desk staff was not happy about it. While redoing my nails, they told me I had to pay again or at least cover half the cost. I refused to pay, considering it had only been three days. The technicians were clearly unhappy, chatting about the situation while I was sitting there--an uncomfortable experience for a paying customer. In the end, I still tipped the technician, but I did not pay for the service again. Unfortunately, my nails became even more damaged since I had to redo them within a week due to the poor job. To avoid any issues, I booked another appointment with my preferred nail tech a month in advance. However, just a few hours before my appointment, the salon called to reschedule because another client's service was taking longer. I couldn't change my time, so they booked me with a different technician. Two days later, my dip powder broke again, five of my nails chipped, and the white polish peeled off. When I went in to address the issue, the front desk lady was upset and told me to come back another day because they were too busy. Now, my nails are even more fragile, and I have to get them redone--again. It's frustrating to see the quality of work and customer service decline so much. I rarely go to salons, but I really enjoyed this one. I've come in for walk-in pedicures and had an overall good experience. The salon is large, clean, and well decorated. Good music playing, too. There is free parking in the same complex by Harris Teeter. I got the fruit pedicure during my visits. It comes with a nice massage and lotion treatment. Honestly, I'd gladly pay $55 for the massage and pre-nail painting treatment alone! It was very relaxing. From what I saw, they line the foot basins with disposable liners and use sanitized tools. The nail techs seem to be very attentive and careful, although on my latest visit, I did get a small cut on a cuticle. I love the location and ambiance. It's a big salon, and the extremely high ceilings makes it feel even bigger. It has a beautiful wall fountain and just feels relaxing. I've been twice: for pedi twice and once for a mani. The pedi process is divine and they use lots of yummy smelling products to get your skin right. But I haven't been impressed with the paint job on my toes. I'll come back though, because maybe it depends on who you see. I've seen Hang and Vincent (Vi Vo).
