Really nice small pharmacy. The people who work here are kind, there is great customer service as well as education in medicine. They have everything you need. I have been coming for the past year, the two young women that work there have been nothing but extremely nice to me. I only come in to fill my prescriptions once a month, and she will give me a little gift like tooth paste or body scrub, and even give me an extra one for my husband too. No other pharmacy I have ever been to has done something like that. Mister and I like to wander in here and walk up and down the aisles, trying to figure out why, why, why there are 3 (yes, three) drugstores on 1 block. Is this place really legit? The store is stocked with the basic drugstore assortment (toothpaste, shampoo, deoderant), though these are pricier here than across the street at Rite-Aid. Great local mom and pop pharmacy. My family and I had nothing but stellar service here. And in times of emergencies, out of the four national pharmacies in the area, they were the -only- ones who used their long term one-on-one relationships with suppliers and the only ones who got us what we needed for our daughter overnight. The others were on backorder for months and couldn't even offer estimates for when they would be available. It's important to create a relationship with your pharmacist, so that their advice is personalized and accurate as opposed to most national chains. It's also important to support local businesses in Forest Hills. In doing so, we keep the neighborhood strong and vibrant by supporting families who live here, and owners who have a stake in the community in terms of health, schools, politics, infrastructure, crime, and charity. Terrific mom and pop drug store, and the only one in the neighborhood with a really wide selection of surgical supplies, which came in handy when my girlfriend fell down a flight of stairs recently. Very friendly place, and they'll order pretty much anything you need if they don't have it -- and you'll have it the next day. A great addition to the neighborhood. read more

BEWARE OF FAKE REVIEWERS!!! Stive O. seems to also be Nina P. who works for MB Pharmacy. Nina P. is continuing to send offensive messages to me regarding my accurate review of MB Pharmacy! She is trying to defend her actions of watching and following people of color when they come into this store. "Stive O." is saying the very exact thing that Nina P. is saying and they are grammatically identical. I suggest sending in some secret shoppers and compare results. read more

So I broke my hand yesterday and got a prescription for a sling and went to rite aid in the area but they said my insurance wouldn't cover it unless I went to a small/surgical pharmacy. So I started browsing yelp for one and came across these reviews. Thank you to those customers who posted about the discrimination they faced as I will skip going to this one. I'm disgusted by the behavior reported about the staff and the owners response to complaints. This is my first time to here. I was looking for dental floss and the old woman asked me: what are you looking for? When I check my phone, she pointed the paper which write like if you didn't follow rule, just leave out. That old woman said " Miss ,leave out!" This is a so weird store, Cashier was so rude. The positive reviews here have GOT to be fake/posted by employees. I have lived in Forest Hills for 8 years and have heard nothing but bad experiences from friends and colleagues who have been here. After avoiding this place for many years, I went in to make copies of something I needed for jury duty. I made two copies and when I handed the cashier $0.10 (copies are $0.05 each), she barked at me "YOU MADE THREE COPIES." I told her I only made two, and she told me "you're lying. The machine says you made three. You will pay for three." I had no bag/purse with me, and only a light Spring jacket on with pockets too small to hide an entire 8x10 piece of paper in. I put my documents on the counter to show her: "here is my original paper, and here are my two copies. I don't have anything else." Again, I was met with "you are lying. The machine says you made 3 copies. Pay for all 3." Now, paying an extra $0.05 would have in no way broken the bank for me, but she was SO mean about it all, that I refused to pay any extra money for something I didn't even do. Needless to say, I left and only paid for the 2 copies I actually made. It was such a silly experience that did NOT have to be so negative and nasty, and yet it was a mess. I cannot believe that any of the reviews that claim "great customer service" are real. read more

MB Pharmacy is an excellent resource in Forest Hills. This is real local mom & pop business, as opposed to the giant chain drug stores. Elanna provides personalized service you cannot get at Rite Aid or CVS. Anyone in the Forest Hills neighborhood should patronize MB pharmacy where you're treated like a valuable person! read more

This Nina person just doesn't quit and it shows the maturity level of this individual that represents MB Pharmacy. Here she is again writing me: "Addition to my message our policy to help customers and be around them when they need us ! If you felt you been followed it's your choice .We do have great prices and people when come they shop and leave and don't argue about workers around them ! not all have phd but they are smart enough have appropriate behavior!! Thank you and god bless" At this point... it's like talking to a child. I've never actually argued with anyone yet there are so many assumptions that she makes. She already admitted that they follow people, now she is trying to retract it. A good business representative would simply try to rectify the issue but you see how the representative of this business is. We all have choices.... you choose. They have already told on themselves and how they operate in this store. Just know, if you are a person of color you will be followed, watched and your money will be checked even when no one else's money that was on the line ahead of you was. I even paid for something then decided to purchase something else afterwards and for no apparent reason, my $20 bill was checked even though she did not check my original purchase that was paid with a $20 bill. You will be asked "do you need help" if you say no thank you, there will be either young people (depending on the time) or someone that will follow you around. I even tested it out to see if it was just me, while other Caucasians where in the store. I kept moving and they kept moving with me, and not following the other Caucasians that were also browsing. At that point it became funny to me, it was just so ridiculous. It became a game for me, I laughed about it. It got to the point that one of the young girls knocked down some things while trying to keep up with me! lol Hey It happened... this is not the first place that doesn't trust or want people of color and it certainly will not be the last. If you do go in there head to Alana the pharmacist. She is helpful, personable and not racist. She is good people and very kind hearted. She goes above and beyond.... I don't care what race or ethnicity anyone is.... if they are good people I acknowledge them. When Alana and I see each other outside of the pharmacy we speak and have friendly conversation. She has even gotten into arguments trying to speak up on my behalf and assist me. I really like her... too bad I can't support the business, I enjoyed our chats and getting to know her. She made it a pleasure to shop there. I even offered some support to Alana to make sure she was okay when someone broke their glass door and stole from the pharmacy and the police were there with her. I was a good customer... there was no reason for me to be treated as such or to receive the email messages that I have received. A simple apology would have sufficed and their mistrustful behavior stopped. It's very unfortunate but it is what it is. Honestly, I would much rather be able to use MB Pharmacy rather than go to Rite Aid it is closer to me and like I said before, I'd rather support a small business. I shop at all of the other stores next to it and know the workers names and they know mine, it's about community. But... life goes on. Hopefully things will change for the better and others will not feel the way I was made to feel. It only takes 1 minute to make someone uncomfortable and they notice that they are being followed. My very point was proved by another reviewer that some people are treated with dignity and respect in this store while others are not. I never knew there was a time limit on browsing in a store to see what products they have, compare prices or simply while waiting for their medication to be filled. This is a Mom and Pops pharmacy which I prefer. I get individual discrete attention. The pharmacist is very nice, knowledgable and tries to accommodate. They close a little early. In response to reviewer who noticed the numerous pharmacies, I would say this one is conveniently next to a medical clinic and the only one on north side of Queens Blvd, which is difficult to navigate across if disabled. She asked if there were specific products I preferred and began ordering my toiletry preferences. It is a family run small business and unlike big franchise pharmacies does not carry large variety of items. I prefer supporting neighborhood family owned businesses. read more
