I took two buses and about an hour to arrive at this location so I could return a Starlink internet device. I arrived at the location to hear that they did not print out shipping labels and I had to rewrap the open package myself. I thought it was a little weird they had no way to print a return shipping label (pdf file) and I had to purchase tape and rewrap the open package. I left the store hoping to find a place to print my return shipping package. After walking around the neighborhood, I realized that I needed to use my phone to locate a place to print the label. While walking to the nearest Staples, I realized that the pdf file I wanted to print was printable from any computer. Have you ever heard of a computer that could not print a pdf file? Me neither. I realized I had been lied to and consequently had to walk 13 blocks on a warm summer day to Staples. While on the way to Staples, I ran across a small business that was a Fedex shipping and printing center. I went in and was told to send my pdf file to the email address printed on the piece of paper in front of me. I was then handed a spoll of tape and told to wrap the package. When I had trouble with the package, the employee said he would help. He wrapped the package and printed the label. I left the business happy to have received what I should have gotten from the get go. Walgreens should hire better people. I am shocked at the bad customer service. read more

Attempting to pickup photos at approximately 10:10pm, the employee (male) was busy making jokes with another employee (female) and was rude and unhelpful. We had 6 items to pick-up, all on the same order. After pulling up the order, the employee found one item and then starting conversing with the female employee, clearly personal holiday related conversation. My wife told the employee, the order has these additional items, to which the employee retrieved one more then continued with his personal conversation. Again, reminded there are more items on the order then he retrieved one more item and then promptly ignored us again. This continued until he couldn't find an item then walked away, stating he couldn't find it. He then got dressed with street clothes and walked out the store. This degree of rudeness, flippant and inconsiderate behavior just seems unacceptable for a professional retail operation. read more

Pharmacy is generally rude over the phone. And not well informed. When I called to ask why I got a VM from Walgreens regarding refills she didn't know and said I had nothing on her end to be refilled . When I asked if any of my prescriptions were due for refill ( I only have two scripts there) she said I received a 90 day supply but infact I got a 30 day supply a month ago. I asked her if I can refill the script. She said "I put it through". What does that mean???? I like to shop here because they have good sales and friendly customer service. Most of the merchandise outside the food section is now under lock-'n-key, but I don't hold that against them. As with many other urban areas where Democrats rule, shoplifting has become so rampant that retailers have little choice if they want to stay in business. This establishment was being targeted by members of organized crime who would enter the store, calmly fill up large duffel bags with goods, and then exit to a waiting van outside. I hope the new measures work and this Walgreens remains open. The reason I'm giving them four stars instead of five is because of the pharmacy. I used to get my prescriptions filled here, but their credit card machine would never take my wife's "Health Care FSA" card. I've had no problems using it at CVS and Rite Aid, but every time I tried using it at this Walgreens, they would tell me it didn't work, with no explanation. They never tried to rectify the matter, so I now go elsewhere for my lipitor and lisinopril. read more

The store is fine, it's a Walgreens it gets the job done, but the pharmacy at this location is horrible. It takes them forever to answer the phone, if they do answer. I had some prescriptions sent in on Tuesday afternoon and by 8PM there were no updates. I tried calling 5 times between 8 and 9 and no one answered. I finally decided to just go to the pharmacy for them to tell me they can't fill them until my doctor clarifies something, fine that's understandable but a courtesy call to say there's a delay would be nice. Here we are two days later, just got off the phone with my doctor to see if they had gotten in contact with Walgreens who informed me the pharmacy never reached out for the clarifications they said they were waiting for. It's really feckless on behalf of the pharmacy employees to say they've reached out/are going to reach out to prescribers and then not do so. People are getting prescriptions for a reason and to let them wait for days is truly unacceptable. read more

I made this my new pharmacy because the one in Austin street closed down. I have had a negative experience every time I walk in here. The line is always lo g and slow. The customers that come here are rude and inconsiderate (line skippers or holders) The pharmacy attendants are at times incompetent where I've had to make multiple trips thag costume time and money and end up telling them how to do their jobs. According to my insurance company they were being lazy and not wanting to do the legwork. I call and they say "out of stock, check back Tuesday". If I could give it 0 stars, I would. I scheduled a vaccine on a Friday evening because I know I will get ill from it for a couple of days and would have a chance to recover over the weekend. I do this because I am very busy at work and can't afford to take time off right now. They bombarded me with reminders all week and a few times the day of. My appointment was at 5:20 pm and I checked in at 5:15. At 5:45, the pharmacist told me that they just ran out of the vaccine. I know this was not true because I did not see anyone walk in and out of the area where they give the vaccines. I don't understand why they would give us appointments in the evening if they do not have enough to provide to all who schedule?! And to be dishonest on top of that is just wrong! I continue to be disappointed in this location. They are consistently rude and don't care about their customers at all. I went in here to get some needed medical devices that were locked up. The woman standing next to me says press the button and someone will help. 10 minutes later no help and then pulled out a key that she had the entire time! Unreal. Next visit I returned a few items that were 2 days past the 30 day window because I told them I had the Flu and literally could t get there and they refused to give me a refund and would only give me a credit. The long lines here always seem unnecessary. The checkout counter staff always seem annoyed to be at work and always give me a hassle if I've got a coupon. I realize that a coupon requires a few more seconds to validate but having served as a checkout staff in the past, ultimately it doesn't really take much time to verify. To be honest, I find most Walgreens to be staffed by incompetence since Duane Reade took over a few years ago and this one is no different. This is one experience that furthers the case for self checkout without human interaction. Thankfully there are CVS's nearby that are a bit more skilled in checking out. read more

After spending 9 hours in the emergency room with my husband we went to the pharmacy to pick up his medication for pneumonia. There were 2 prescriptions, one for 4 pills and one for 20 pills. The 20 pills were in a prepackaged bottle. As usual , the prescriptions were handed to me in a stapled bag. I paid and left. We then stopped to get dinner to take out and went home. As we were eating dinner, I was removing the pills to give my husband. When I took the cap off the prepackaged pulls, the pull tab was half opened. I counted the pills and there were 5 missing. I called the pharmacy and after several calls back and forth, the pharmacist could not help me and told me I had to speak to James, the manager 2 days later. I called James that Sunday and he insisted that he checked the tape and that the bottle was sealed. After having a conversation that got me nowhere, ( I guess he thought I must be lying over 5 pills) he said he would have the store manager watch the tape and call me. He also said if we needed the additional pills have another prescription submitted. It's now five days and I have not received a phone call. In addition, when another prescription was submitted, the insurance company said it's too soon so it can't be filled. So he will have an interruption in taking his medication. I know this is only an antibiotic but what happens if it's a narcotic . Is it just brushed off. My final word COUNT YOUR PILLS BEFORE LEAVING THE PHARMACY WINDOW! Face it no chain drug store is anything to rave about. All over priced as far as non prescription drugs etc. This Walgreens however is at least stocked and does have pretty good sales. Its very very clean unlike CVS on 67th and Queens Blvd which is a disgrace. The pharmacy I really like they always keep you up to date calling or texting about upcoming prescriptions with the cost refills left etc. which I find extremely helpful. The staff can get grumpy at times its true lol, but to be honest I have seen why. I have personally witnessed them getting berated by customers to no fault if their own. I'm talking down right name calling. I mean how is it the staffs fault if their are no renewals left on their script. If they listened to the phone call they would of heard you have no more refills on this prescription after this one or is it their fault if their doctor didn't call in script etc. take responsibility. I go very early in the morning when they are not as busy and have not yet really had their dose is poor customers. They are obviously understaffed which is part if the problem if you sense a little attitude lol. Overall with prescription plans you may not have a choice were you go. I have Walgreens preferred. I used to be with CVS across the street but they were no longer preferred but I loved the pharmacy there well the pharmacist but the store itself gross. If i could give the pharmacy zero stArs i would. The pharmacy is an absolute shit show. Its always inefficient but today put the nail in the coffin. I have never seen such idiocy in my life. Waited about 30 mins!!!!!! on line because they F-ed up everyone elses medication too. The line was all the way down the aisle. My rx is for 60 days. The pharmacy only had a 30 day supply, so i got a partial fill. When i picked it up i asked the cashier when the order will arrive so i can pick up the remainder. This stupid girl tells me i can pick it up in 14 days when i finish what i have. Wtf??? What if i was going on vacation and couldn't wait 14 days???? She spoke so condescendingly on top of being a complete moron, she is the type of woman who should be arm candy for some old rich guy because she is good for nothing else. I worked in a pharmacy... when we only had enough for a partial fill we would tell the person when we expected the shipment ( a day or two)... and when the medication arrived we would fill what we owed and call the patient up to let them know its ready (this was before Automated emails n texts). Should the patient need it right away because of travel we would call other Genovese pharmacies to see if they had the medication in stock. So i ask to speak to the pharmacist. I ask her the same question... "when do u expect the medication to come in so i can pick up the remainder". The pharmacist answers with "we have 140 orders" " the system is different now".... And s bunch of other shit that did not address my question. So finally i was like... "so you dont know", and she seemed to agree. She was polite enough , but not as nice as she should have been. I ranted and raved to Ian, the store manager, who was a pleasant guy. My husband and I decided to find another walgreens. Unfortunately only walgreens takes our insurance. This was by far the best pharmacy in the area. Until they decided to start lacking in there hours and service. They went from 24 hours, to 11pm then to 9pm now I am already confused. Not sure how they came to this decision especially now that pharmacies are needed even more with the whole pandemic. Instead of being there for the community they decide to go a step back. Pharmacy is terrible wait time. When I say terrible I mean 0 stars. They know what hours they are busy and when they aren't. The hours they are busy they should have 3 people working by the pharmacy not 1 or 2. Wait line to pick up prescription over 3 minutes which is insane. Zero stars. I needed to switch pharmacies because CVS was no longer in network. I always had my medication either same day or the next day at the latest and if there was a problem, they promptly notified me. I expected similar services from Walgreens but boy was I wrong!! A prescription was sent by my doctor and in the app the status was "delayed- no further action needed". For 2 days, I tried calling the pharmacy. I was kept on hold forever and once in a while it would start ringing. I would get so excited that finally someone was picking up and... you could hear someone pick up and immediately put it back on hold. Meanwhile, my current supply is dwindling by the day. I found out through my insurance company that it was because prior authorization was needed and the med needed to be brand. Walgreens didn't feel further action was needed?? My doctor gave the authorization and submitted the new prescription and again, it was showing up as "delayed-no further action needed". I called Walgreens again and the same thing. On hold every time I called. I called the store and before I could even explain, the minute I said prescription they transferred it to the pharmacy and...on hold. I tried calling right back and all of a sudden all staff was busy helping (or not) other customers. I called the corporate office and they told me they would have to call the same number I called so if I can't get through, they won't be able to either. However, someone would get in touch with me in 3-5 to discuss my complaint. That was so helpful. I am now down to my last few pills (I started this process with enough pills to last a week) and have to start all over again. My poor doctor has been so patient and helpful, but the time both of us have spent on this is totally unacceptable. On to another pharmacy...never again. read more

I figured I would leave a review here to warn others about the pharmacy at this Walgreens, rather than send my complaint into the corporate ether to have nothing done about it. This is not a reflection of the rest of the services Walgreen's provides at this location. I am a combat veteran and went to Walgreens to receive my influenza vaccination. It is a nice benefit I receive and it makes my day significantly better not having to travel to the City and go through the nightmare that is the Manhattan VA for a flu shot. When I arrived I was one of four people and one of two men. A young Asian woman (sorry for not having caught the names of employees) helped me. She processed my VA insurance information and wrote my name on a piece of paper (which I assumed to be the list of flu shot recipients). I waited to be called and was surprised when I heard the name Dill. I dismissed it and continued waiting. When, who I assumed to be a supervisor, called out Dill again I said "Do you mean Will? My first name is William." The supervisor said no and I said "Let's think about this logically for a second. There are two men here. Unless the other one is named after an herb, there was clearly a mistake with how your employee wrote the name down." To which I received no response. I waited a little while longer and another employee, a delightful young woman (I think Russian or Ukrainian), asked for my VA card and began to process my info again. At this point it was clear that the Asian woman had messed up my name. She stood by listening to the conversation. I again reinforced that there must have been an error in the name the young asian woman wrote down. The young asian woman said nothing. My information was processed again. I was called by my last name by the supervisor. He apologized for my wait to which I again restated that his employee wrote down the name incorrectly and that was the cause for the wait. I'm more than patient and don't mind waiting. I'm not from NYC. I do mind however, when an employee makes a clear error and there is no apology or even acknowledgement of the error. The supervisor prepared to administer the shot. He asked my birthday. I told him and he said "it's not____?" to which I replied, "I'm sorry. Are you telling me that you messed up my birthday and my name?" He said yes and continued to verify my identity from my address. Now, I'm no scholar and I'm certainly not a bright man, but it would seem to me that if you are getting something from a pharmacy, the two pieces of information used to verify your identity (your name and birthdate) might be the only information, aside from insurance information, that is critical to get correct. At the point where I learned that my birthday was also incorrect, I questioned whether or not I was even receiving the right vaccination and almost got up to leave. Normally I would not get hung up on something of this nature but the complete lack of responsibility in taking ownership of a mistake from an employee (which resulted in this visit taking almost an hour for a flu shot) and the supervisor's inability to acknowledge what had occurred (whether he knew and didn't say anything or simply was indifferent in his attempts to understand) are both completely unsatisfactory scenarios in a place whose sole function is to provide or administer medications. I don't respect anything to come of this because corporations don't care about people. I write this to encourage people in the Forest Hills and Rego Park communities to use any other pharmacy than this one. read more

I must say, I am not fond of this store. Mainly due to the customer service of the staff. My last 2 visits here were terrible. If not for some online sales, I would likely never come here. Went to store to p/u an online (ship to store) order. The pick-up area is @ the photo section. When I got there, a long line of customers were waiting to get rung up. The cashiers are located at the opposite end of photo booth. I asked if there was anyone lined up for photos, no. The cashier was being helpful by helping ring up customers, understandable. He told me I had to wait on the line, even though I was there to get an online order. I get that you're assisting, but the photo booth is responsible for their section (after ringing up the person you're already helping). I didn't complain, & went to browse the store. When I returned, the cashiers had everything under control, & only had 1 or 2 waiting. The worker @ photo saw me, & shouted over to remaining customers to come over to get rung up. Now, it's coming off spiteful. When no one walked over to get rung up, he finally gave me his attention. He hands me my package, & it's clearly been opened. He doesn't say anything, & just hands it to me. Only when I inquired did he offer to open box to check my items. This isn't the 1st time I've gotten poor service here. read more

This review is for the photo department. I have always experienced horrible customer service every time I place an online photo order for pick up at this location. When ordering, there is an option to select same day evening pick up or next day morning pick up. No matter what I select the order is never ready. There were times that I've come to the store and had to wait for my order to be printed in front of me. Other times, I'd call to confirm if the order was fulfilled and was told it was not even started (they didn't even know I placed the order until I called). read more

Most of the things are locked and you have to wait for someone to help you. You might as well have a personal shopper with you who will unlock whatever you need from each aisle. Worst Walgreens ever. I placed a photo order at 4 pm and notified it would be ready by 5 pm. I show up at 10 pm and waited fifteen minutes until someone actually showed up at the photo center after pressing the button seven times to notify the employees that I needed photo assistance, finally someone emerges from the back and not even in uniform and I tell them my information and they punch it into the system to tell me that the order was paid for and picked up. I was confused and told her no one did that to my knowledge and then the employee tells me that they never received the order and showed me on the screen that my last order was in October. So which one is it? This employee was spewing lies because this Walgreens location was too lazy to print my photos and do their jobs and the employee couldn't even come up with a solution for me and just stared at the computer screen quietly. My neighborhood 24 Hour pharmacy. It's extremely convenient that I can pick up prescriptions or other pharmacy items any time of day or night. I usually only get prescriptions from here as there is a Target in the area and prices are better there for other items. The parking lot is shared with other businesses and it's small so I try my best not to drive here. During peak hours it's very hard to find a spot. read more

Toy have to call and wait on hold and then ask them to fill if you want to have any hope it'll be ready when you get there.
