The challenging permitted job MBR completed as of 3/5/19 was done while he was supposed to be finishing our home which it was left in shambles The stone we bought was a complete loss we had to tear it out at the csot of over $12000 His stone person made so many errors he ruined the stone and Mike and his crew covered it in plastic so we couldn't see the errors after it was installed. Cracks appeared in the bullnose and around the sinks before we were able to mount the faucets. read more

From the beginning, Mike's candor, attention to detail, responsiveness, and honesty were crucial in helping us scope our project, and to determine what was feasible within our budget. Mike provided plenty of options from which to choose, and gave a straightforward assessment as to the pros & cons of each. Once we decided, Mike provided a realistic timeframe, and was flexible in being able to accommodate our preferences for the sequence of work, and on which days work would be done. Mike and his crew - in particular Tim and Bobby - were always looking for ways to make things better, and to provide viable solutions when I had questions, or when we ran into the occasional issue once we started breaking down the existing porch and balcony. Mike and his team would step back and assess the situation, and always consulted me with options, which I appreciated. They didn't stick me with a cheap-o stopgap solution, nor did they strong-arm me into pay exorbitant extra fees for something I didn't need. Mike, Tim and Bobby would explain what it was they were doing, and how it contributed to the successful completion of the project (my deck is photo #11, with the two sliding glass doors and double doors between them, on the left side of the photo). Overall, we had a great experience with Mike and all of his crewmembers. I ended up with a gorgeous new deck, and learned a lot about its construction in the process. Mike and his crew did an outstanding job on our new home!!! After having a handful of perspective contractors come in with unrealistic time frames, bloated budgets and disinterest in any project that was not going to make them multiple tens of thousands of dollars, it was refreshing to meet Mike who had a straight forward honest approach. He gave me a clear estimate and time frame and the job finished at the price I was quoted. He even ate the cost of labor on painting that went beyond what was expected due to the need for extra coats to get the color to my wife's specifications. He took out walls, he put up walls and we even found him working late the night before we moved in to finish a few small details so that we would not be inconvenienced. Mike, Pat, Brandon, Ray, Joe, and the whole crew did a fantastic job on an exceedingly difficult and challenging project, at a very reasonable price. Our 'new' home, a large 1932 hunting retreat that we are remodeling to live in. Being in a very fire-prone area, we changed out our redwood siding with Hardie concrete fiber siding that looked almost identical to the original. Mike, Pat and the team demoed the original siding and window/door trim safely and cleanly, and coordinated with the window contractor to assure all would come together perfectly with our new windows. They repaired termite/water/dry rot damage to far better than original, installed new, non-combustible window trim that closely matched the original look, insulated, sealed, and installed the siding with great precision. Then came the deck! The original deck was not built correctly in 1932 and had major problems. MBR completely upgraded it to rock-solid, level and beautiful, decking it with Azek Timbertech composite decking and Azek composite railing. It looks beautiful. We also asked them to handle a number of other projects related to our remodel, as they are general contractors. Our interior window and door trim looks great and our tub replacement is beautiful. It was a real pleasure having the MBR guys at the house. We will definitely call on Mike, Pat and the guys at MBR construction for any future projects! Thanks guys! read more

Given the job that Mike did on my son's place and very reasonable price for the estimate, I had no reservation in asking Mike to renovate my place as well. I had Mike and his team do framing for a new wall/turret as well as truss install and roof sheathing (I'm probably missing details here but that's the major stuff). Just had Mike and his crew take down a load baring wall in my new house. I loved all the guys that came to work. I never got a bad vibe from anyone. The time line did get extended due to the floor guy ghosting us, but Mike ended up getting on the ground and patching the floor himself.
