My son hit 4 going on 5 and we had to make the bittersweet decision to move him on to elementary but he walked away knowing more and talking in full sentences than I would've ever imagined. He's learned numbers, colors, about states, countries, holidays, animals etc. If I could recommend anything to a new mom nearby it would be to put there child in this school! The director of the daycare is by far the friendliest person I've ever met. Brianna, Misty, and Shabana take care of our daughter very well. They do art projects with her. The staff here provides updates to our daughters progress every day. They use the precious status app which really helps us see how our daughter is doing throughout the day. This is the first time we've ever put our kids in daycare and I would pick this daycare again if we were to have another child. While the school has seen several administrative changes, including a very difficult period under a previous director, we stayed because of the incredible teaching staff. Unfortunately, the school recently lost Ms. Shelina, an 11-year veteran and the only fully Montessori-certified teacher on staff. To see a teacher of her caliber and dedication pushed out--seemingly due to administrative interference with her classroom expertise--is heartbreaking. Furthermore, the physical environment has declined; classrooms have become overcrowded with furniture, making it difficult for children to work independently as the Montessori method intends. Until there is stability in staffing and a return to true Montessori standards, I find it difficult to recommend this school to new families.

My inlaw was a special ed teacher for 35 years and her comment about the coursework is " VERY low level materials" i.e. yankee doodle , 3rd grade music class?, Maybe i'm biased but i remember learning "Scarborough Fair" and many other songs in music. my child sings Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli and others at home. I get a sense of everything here being depressed, outdated and in extreme lack. We will be looking for another school. I'm sure they mean well but the LACK of STEM material is a big one for me. I see no "excellence" in their work.

I met a school bus driver and told her that I have an appointment at 3pm. She told me somebody should be with me shortly, I said I have been ringing the bell but nobody come out. Then she said "it's not even 3pm". I was not upset until she said so. I understand locking the door is for kids safety, and I like it too, but at least when they see me ringing the bell, they should come out and ask if I need help with anything instead of turning the light off. No one want to be late with appointment that's why I came 10mins early. And they that was the response I received.

Climbing ! We get daily updates on diaper changing times and the amount of food, water & milk they consume along with photos of activities throughout the day. We were taking their packed lunch and are now having them eat the prepared lunch at Cadence. Knowing the babies are in a healthy loving and professional environment is everything to us as grandparents.

STEER CLEAR! - a former student…read more I was an Alpha-Omega who almost graduated from here. I transferred out in High School and found that every other school in this area is better than this cesspool of toxicity. First of all, faculty here is horrible. I would say 10% of them are decent people, 70% are rude and incompetent, and 20% are EVIL PEOPLE who should NOT be let around/allowed to work around kids. Over my time at the school, there was multiple issues with discriminatory teachers (who chose to belittle children off of race, gender, religion, etc.) and teachers who had questionable actions towards students. All of these issues get swept under the rug, of course, because the Oakridge way is to never take accountability for their wrongdoings and push it onto the child somehow. Any problem with faculty is dismissed by Admin, and if something of severe consequence happens to your kid, good luck getting anything fixed. I had many horrid experiences with teachers, as did a lot of my classmates (to the severity of which any other school would fire them for) and the school always conveniently managed to find an excuse or spin it to where it was on the kid. This was a common occurrence for a lot of students; more than just me. The Headmaster as of right now, Mr. Burgy, really cares about the kids at the school, but the board (filled of people who get free tuition and haven't been enrolled in 10-20 years) severely limits and hinders any meaningful and good progress in the institution. The board is the one pulling the strings behind Oakridge, and that's the biggest issue. They don't spend any time on campus to learn about issues, and instead go off of their outdated experiences. The students aren't much better either. Lots of bullying and hurt took place here, but that's the environment the school breeds. The school claims to care about bullying, yet when I was getting death threats and cyberbullied online, they wanted to turn a blind eye. (I've yet to determine if it was because one of the bullies was a teacher's kid, or just negligence like previous bullying instances with other students.) Seriously, save your kid's mental wellbeing and your pocket from endless therapy bills by avoiding this place. If you don't listen to anyone else, listen to me, someone who lived this school for 13 years; who grew up here, and was discarded and treated like trash.
