Very strange shop.. I went into this place to see how much it would be for a repair to the back…read morelift gate on my 24 Honda. It's a pretty sizable dent and my PDR guy didn't want to touch it. I show up and the first guy goes out and looks at it. We go back inside and he gets gramps to look at it. We walk outside and first thing that comes out of gramp's mouth... "ahhhhhhh, that's aluminum". I know it's not but I'll just let the old man play his game. He proceeds to get a magnet and lo and behold... it sticks. He then attempts to tell me how the paint is specific. The paint code is B-638p. You talk it up all you want... paint code, is a paint code, it's a paint code. He then tells me that we can paint the bottom half and that will save me some money. We all walk in and they give me some "napkin" verbalized ridiculous estimate of $2500.00. I explain to them that I there are four wrecked ones in the state of New York and I'll just go pick up a non-damaged lift gate and install it myself. Ready for this? Ol' man gramps then tells me that Honda will need to "reprogram" the car. I laugh and tell him that there aren't any computers in the back of the car. He responds, "anytime you unplug anything, you have to have it reprogrammed". Weird, I literally just changed the battery and upgraded the alternator less than 7 days ago. As an insurance claims professional, and one of the top catastrophic insurance claims adjusters in the country that handles 1000s of litigated claims per year, these antics and practices is what kills the entire business. I just spoke last year for the state of Florida regarding these same practices in both the personal lines and automotive industry. As a claims professional with 20+ years in the industry... run from shops like this.

Sam didn't try to "up-sale" me, but his goal was to understand the outcome I was looking for and ensuring that outcome exceeded expectations in the most cost effective manner...and he succeeded! I was able to get a great deal a 10 year old used car (2012 Toyota RAV4), but the car needed some love to bring the vehicle back to "showroom floor" condition and protect it going forward. I looked at a lot of shops in the Philadelphia area and it was well worth the drive to deal with a professional, like Sam, who truly cares about the service he provides to his customers. While Sam has worked on many cars with price points over $100K+, he treated me and my RAV4 as if it was a Rolls Royce. Sam knows that a well maintained vehicle means a lot to everyone regardless of the make, model or MSRP. Sam was even nice enough to update me throughout the detailing process (see pictures of PPF being applied and steam cleaning leather seats). I ended up having the following services done to my RAV4: Polish, Headlight Restoration, Ceramic Coating on the interior and exterior, Paint Protection Film on the hood, behind the door handles and headlights. It should not be overlooked that Sam uses the highest quality products on the market available to him at the time. The produces he uses are all professional grade, high-end materials- he doesn't try to short-change you by using inferior products. Quality and value don't often come together in today's world, but Sam is a true craftsman and I am so happy when I look at my car. My wife, who isn't a car person, was so impressed that she told me "our car looked better than the new cars on the showroom floor." The attached pictures of my car simply do not do Sam's work justice! My hand glides over the smooth body panels. Loved that extra little bit of care because nothing drives me crazier than trying to find an envelope and pen in my car because there's nothing but a key drop slot in the door in so many other places. They think of the little things. I had made my appointment online a couple of weeks before using one of the flyers that came in the mail, I scanned the QR code. I did put it in my phone as a reminder however I actually put in the wrong day, I would have been a day late however they sent me a reminder text to let me know that hey your appointment is coming up. Amazing, and very timely! I spoke mainly with Brandon and in all my years I have never spoken to any car repair place and receive such great service. He listened to my concerns as I have a few because my car is older. They kept me apprised of every step of the way. From initial diagnostics, when they finish them they sent me a link that took me to a website but not only detailed information about what needed to be done, but also recommendations with PICTURES to show what they were talking about. I was able to show them to my brother who was mechanic in New Jersey he said I see their concern and he agreed on their diagnostics, but we're getting rid of the car within a year so no need to do those things right now. When I spoke to Brandon we talked about what needed to be done for the inspection, the things that I wanted to have done extra including the oil and having an A/C repaired, and there was zero hard sell of any of the other options that were recommended but not needed at time of service. I have never had such an amazing experience at a mechanic shop in all my years and I can guarantee I will never go to another auto repair shop as long as I live in this area, I finally found the best mechanics around and trust me I've been to probably just about all of them including dealerships. I had a tricky battery issue that they helped me sort out over the past week, and they were nothing but honest, patient, and helpful the whole way through. They kept me updated, explained everything clearly, and even though my car had to stay overnight twice, once the issue was identified, they didn't charge me for the fix! I replied that there was no rush and I offered to text him with my details and let him get back to me when he had time. I never heard from him again. I called him @9:55 2 June I sent the text @10:00 2 June. I followed up with a call, left voice mail on 8 June @12:50 I don't want to do a one star, but I *did* try to support a local business. He just wouldn't call back.
