**0 Stars (if possible)**…read more This review documents a serious workmanship failure and safety concern related to services performed at **Tires Plus - Royersford, PA**. I brought my **2011 Mercedes-Benz C300 4MATIC** to this location for a **Pennsylvania state inspection and installation of four new tires**. This vehicle requires **different tire sizes for the front and rear**, which is critical for AWD drivetrain operation. This requirement was discussed in advance with the store manager, **Bill**, who acknowledged it and assisted in selecting the tires. There was no misunderstanding regarding specifications. After dropping the vehicle off, Bill suggested that if I left a **5-star Google review**, I would receive **$10 off the service**. I declined, as no service had yet been completed and it would have been inappropriate to review work that had not occurred. Upon retrieving my vehicle, I noticed **grease residue on the tires and wheels**. Shortly after leaving the premises--but before entering Route 422--I heard a **clicking noise** coming from the vehicle. Due to safety concerns, I immediately turned around and returned to the shop. After inspection, Bill admitted that **the tires had been installed on the incorrect rims**. This error caused the tire to contact the **suspension strut**, resulting in: * A clicking noise while driving * **Physical damage to the wheel (scraping and gouging)** * Unnecessary stress on the **transfer case**, a critical AWD component This damage was not present prior to service. I questioned how the vehicle passed **state inspection** if the tires were installed incorrectly. Initially, Bill stated that he did not inspect the vehicle. When I pointed out that **inspection stickers had already been applied**, he acknowledged that the shop did in fact perform the inspection. This inconsistency raises serious concerns regarding the inspection process and oversight. As a resolution, I was offered **one tire at no charge**. This does not address the underlying safety issue. Stretching or misapplying a front tire onto a rear rim on an AWD Mercedes presents **ongoing safety risks and potential drivetrain damage**. At this point, I **do not feel safe operating the vehicle**. **Photos attached document the damage caused during service**, including: * **Scraping and gouging on the wheel lip and spokes** consistent with improper tire mounting * **Sidewall contact marks** consistent with tire-to-strut interference * Residue and mounting marks not present prior to service This experience reflects: * Improper tire installation * Failure to identify errors during inspection * Damage caused during service * Inconsistent explanations from management * A lack of regard for customer safety and manufacturer specifications Due to these issues, I cannot recommend this location. Customers relying on this shop for tire installation or state inspections--particularly for AWD or performance vehicles--should exercise caution and consider alternative service provider.

This shop has let me down on countless occasions, but I'll…read moreonly mention the most recent because I can't be bothered with the rest. I'm so easy going because I have 10 years under my belt of running service centers, so I gave them 2 week notice, 1 week notice, for bringing them my truck so they don't feel rushed. Boy did it get thrown back in my face. I don't even feel like getting into most of it. They will make you feel like an annoyance if you have an issue after they fixed something. Their mechanic caused 3 separate issues on my truck after the repair. After diagnosing it all and fixing it myself in the cold with a flashlight, I went in and spoke to the manager for 20 minutes and he ended up apologizing after arguing my case with him which was kind of nice. He said he couldn't offer any sort of refund because I fixed it myself? (I had another shop verify the issues and give me a report before I fixed them). Whatever. I'm easy going. I said call me with a quote for my water pump and help me out with the cost and i'll come back anyway. I don't hold grudges it is what it is. The manager shook my hand and said of course. That was almost 2 weeks ago. No call, no quote. I called last Friday and asked for someone to call me. They said they'll call me back, no call. They will avoid you at all costs and it is very depressing because this shop was so close to my house, and after changing careers I just wanted a shop that I could pay to do all the maintenance on my truck. Shame on you.

I've been going back and forth on if I should write this review. I hate to give negative feedback…read more I've talked with many people and they convincing me it's better to leave this comment to warn others of what happened, so they can be aware and make a decision on whether or not to come here. On May 12th I dropped my car off at Wensels because my head gasket was blown. I live in the apartment complex next to the them so I just walked home. They gave me a call and said it will at least take a week and a half and that is would be between $1500-$2000. I said that's fine. A few weeks go by and I don't hear an update. I called them and they said "We are working on it" More time has passed and I still don't know what's going on with my car. I walk over and they tell me my engine needs to be replaced but they said they will get a used one, and will keep me at the original price they quoted, however it would be on the higher end of my original price quote. I made it clear I only have $2000 saved and that if they can keep it in that price range to go ahead and fix it. Months go by and I leave multiple messages asking for updates. About 4 months from the time I dropped it off until now, I finally get a call back on my voicemail September 3rd telling me my car is done but it's $2732.86. That is about $800 more than they had quoted me. Reviewing the receipt there was charges for things I didn't ask for, like they took off my perfectly good gas cap and exchanged it with a lousy one. Why do that? They didn't even connect the cap to the car but yet this is a charge they charged me for. I let them know that I do not have that money and that I only have $2000 saved. Another week goes by and they called me on September 11 to tell me that I can get my car back at $2000 but there would be no warranty. I figured it wasn't worth fighting over and this has been a mess from the start so I just agreed. Since I was at work I had someone pick up my car up for me. The first thing I noticed when I saw it, it had new scrapes, dings and scratches on the car. Very upsetting. I took it to another car shop to have it checked out since I didn't have a warranty on it. They said the back of the rotors which are metal and the wheel hub (metal) were rubbing creating a horrible sound and was dangerous to drive like that. This is costing more money and more time in a shop. Also, my front headlight was out and windshield wiper fluid tube was cut in half. This is being fixed at another shop because of how careless Wensels was. This whole experience has been a nightmare and I had to cancel many things due to not having my car back.
